  1. Thanks for updating. To me, Miami is just treading water. They've basically swaped players at a few positions. Is Keller and upgrade over Fasano? Maybe. If so, only slight. Reggie Bush was their only playmaker last year. He's out and they sign Walace. Ellerbe and wheeler in; Dansby out. Sean Smith and Jake Long out, no one replacing them. I'm sure they cut others too. I'm not sold that Miami will be drastically improved next season.
  2. Must be the money: http://youtu.be/KJWSm13LBh8
  3. Thanks Tac; nice chart. The sky isn't falling, we're being prudent. Let the teams with huge cap space blow their wads on shiny new toys that rarely live up to their hype and pay; we'll come in shortly and pick up the slightly burnt Sears active wear at a discount.
  4. How many team haven't signed anyone or have only signed one player? I bet it's more than people think
  5. Maybe it's my eternal kool-aid drinking self talking here, but I don't think we're as bad off as people think. We're clearly going to make a move or two at QB (draft/trade/both) and add a WR in the first two rounds as well. Guard is replaceable. Levitre was a loss, but our line will be fine. Searcy is a player and we'll probably bring in another serviceable vet at safety. The D we have isn't that bad, they just played horrible under Wanny. Although we haven't made any earth shattering moves thus far, I'm not ready to jump off a cliff right now. We cleaned house of all of the old guys who lead us to 6-10 records. Isn't that what everyone wanted? We have young guys that are ready to take on a more prominent role. Coaching is a huge part of football and I think we have the guys in place that will make a world of difference with the talent and potential talent that we have on the team. I reserve judgement until Mr. irrelevant is announced.
  6. Another point made in the call: We're unlikely to trade away any picks for players or trade up in the draft. We may, however, trade down to get more picks.
  7. We're set at tackle if you're talking Jamon Meridith. He's an upgrade over noone on our roster.
  8. One year ago tomorrow marks (in my opinion) the anniversary of the start of one of the most -if not the most- epic threads in TBD history. The Mario Williams courting process literally had me up all night watching twitter and hitting F5 on this board. From Tempo to deer to Luke Russert's mom to Wanny meeting his girlfriend at the airport, the Mario Williams free agent saga (kidnapping) had it all and me on pins and needles. WGR was playing the Super Mario theme song, it was ridiculous couple of days. We all know how the season turned out, but we were kings of the world for that one glorious day! Something tells me tomorrow is not going to bring the same kind of drama. Here’s to Mike Devito watch 2013.
  9. It's starts now baby! But we all know Buddy has been asleep since 7.
  10. If they (the traditional press) have a legit source, even anonymous, they'll go with it. The source has to be solid and they would always prefer it to be on the record from someone of authority. Sometimes there's a reason for a legit source to provide it to a paper as an exclusive. For instance, an agent that wants to drive up the price for his client might leak an element of the negotiations. The connected guys (to their credit) are the ones that get the scoop. They are the ones making calls and dropping emails to sources. The Buff News, for instance, would be left out in favor of a national guy if it pertained to free agency. JW got the Leodis news, not Timmy. Also likely a result of relationships and dilligence. That said, they aren't, the traditional media guys, just going to throw S at the wall like IBN will do tonight. In the places where it still exists, it’s called journalistic integrity.
  11. San Jose---One word is all you need at Jim's: Stinger! A please probably wouldn't hurt either.
  12. Three words: Jim's Steak Out Correction. Two words: Jim's Steakout
  13. Getting old this is. -Yoda
  14. The T-Jax signing and this public posturing is all about gaining leverage to get Fitz to take a pay cut.
  15. Everybody Wang Chung tonight
  16. I'm blown away that they even carry Moats jerseys at all. Anyone own one or see someone wearing one at the Ralph, aside from Arthur himself?
  17. As long as they keep hiring guys from the D side, we're good. The jets free agents and cuts- for better or worse are sure to follow.
  18. Obligatory post alert.... Can't wait!
  19. Everyone was complaining when the Jets were loading up with high priced free agent after high priced free agent. This is the result--the house of cards is tumbling down and they're going to have to cut half of their starters. The Jets financial mismanagement is a glaring example of how not to create long-term franchise prosperity. Someone, however, will want to play super hero and try to save the day.
  20. If memory serves me correctly, he came back on the next series or a few plays later. I haven't heard anything related to a significant injury IE: ACL, so I'd assume he's fine and will be ready to go this summer.
  21. I'm just messing with you. There's a 12 page thread on this below. He interviewed today.
