Harrison Phillips recovery update

Sounds like You should of been a football player.? -
Dawkins is everything you want out of a player in the locker room and off the field. I think if Beane can find him a constant solid left guard to play beside, Dawkins will be a solid to good LT for years to come. It’s not coincidence that Dawkins disappointing season came when the entire line was in shambles. Yes, pay him and move on.

I am a UGA fan and thought it was best for Jake to move on. Really is nothing that stands out about him. Average arm, average decision making, and below average athleticism. If he hadn’t played in the National Championship game as a freshman, people wouldn’t really evaluate him as such a high prospect. Reminds me a ton of Arron Murray from UGA. The UGA prospect that intrigues me for our Bills is Lawrence Cager. Cager is a big bodied (6’5 225) wide out who transferred to UGA from Miami after Mark Richt retired. Right now because of injuries this past season, Cager is a day three or UDFA type player. If Cager has a good combine And pro day he could shoot up the board.

I get what you are saying and it’s not far fetched. Maybe Beane goes after Greene if Cincy can’t lock him up, or pulls a trade off for someone we aren’t even thinking about yet. I think Beane is hesitant on drafting wideouts high because he knows they take awhile to develop. I’m not saying it won’t happen, I am making assumptions based on what I have seen thus far from Beane. While Beane was in Carolina, did the Panthers ever draft a wide receiver in the first besides Benjamin?

Do we really need a power back?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think they need a power back. Singletary can get short yards. Draft 2 backs this year like TE’s last year. One that is similar in style to Singletary and one that is quicker and can catch. -
i Don’t see it. I think Beane knows that there are a handful of wide receivers that can be had in the late first, second, or third round. This group of receiver are all similar in projected production. Now I could see Beane trading up in the second round to grab a wide receiver depending on how the first round goes. By this I mean, if other clubs are 5-10 picks ahead of the Bills and needs a wideout, Beane will jump up so he doesn’t miss his guy. I don’t see it in the first, you have to give up to much.

2nd/3rd Tier Draft Wide Reciever Rankings
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am keeping an eye on Lawrence Cager out of UGA at the combine and his pro day. Cager is 6’5 and 220 pounds and has a huge catch radius. Cager will be a day three or UDFA target as it stands now due to injuries his senior season. If Cager puts up A sub 4.6 forty he might start popping up on teams radar. -
I went with Allen and Ford. 2018. Allen. Tough call between Allen and Edmunds I feel they are on similar trajectories up. Both show flashes of being the player we hoped they could be when drafted. I think this third season is when we see consistency out of both players. 2019- Ford. i think the coaching staff will give Ford a designated position the entire preseason camps and this will allow him to focus.

New Playoff Structure
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if fans thought things were perfect 30, 40, or 50 years ago... The only constant in the NFL and life is change. -
This is an ignorant take. Wilson is a top 7 QB right now. Maybe top 5. Allen is getting there, but if I am a vet TE with a year left, I am going to sign with a proven SB winning QB, HC, and a good defense. Time will tell if this works out for Olsen and Seattle.

I can go either way on Phillips. Ultimately I trust Beane.
-
So you are ok with the one year tag for Phillips or looking for a longer deal?
-
Yuck. No thank you. Spend that money on a DE that can get home and find me a space eater to split time with Starr.

Bill Barnwell of ESPN has a Dominos Fall thing.

Thank you. I trust your insight. Bills do need a pass rusher. Now would you take Addison for say $14 mil a year or Ngakoue for say $17 a year? -

I will come clean and admit I based my response on looking at stats. Addison has more years of hovering around 10 sacks. It was interesting to see that Addison didn’t really hit his stride until 7 or 8 seasons in the league. I know you are an astute scout of the entire league. You feel Addison would be worth the extra $4 mil( in this totally hypothetical scenario, haha)?
