  1. There are some posters on here that are definitely not Bills fans. Sad thing is they masquerade as Bills fans but point out only negative things. The one posting in this thread now is actually a Pats fan I think. You can really tell who isn’t a Bills fan, because when the Bills win and are doing great they do not post. The Chefs are far from perfect. Tampa crushed them, it wasn’t even a game. Mostly because the Chefs had zero depth at oline. I think if you do a good look at their roster you will find this is the case, not much depth. So they cross their fingers and hope for minimal injuries in non key spots. That’s what you have to do when you carry expensive contracts for a handful of players. It might work out.
  2. Revisionist history but if that’s the way the draft went I’d take Etienne in the first and Stokes in the second.
  3. You know something, after doing a little bit of research I think you are right about being more built for center. I was basing my earlier opinion on hearing reports that the Bills were prepared to let Bates fight for the starting tackle spot if Williams had not been re-signed. I can’t recall who reported that early on in the offseason, but I do remember thinking it was someone with sources inside One Bills Drive.
  4. They did this in Atlanta with the old Fulton County stadium. The Olympic Stadium was built next door, then renovated for the Braves. The city also did it with the Mercedes Benz and old Georgia Dome. I vote to build the new stadium downtown right by the water where the Sabres play. There is a ton of land and would bring Buffalo all the way back to glory. Now if some people don’t want that, I understand. I ask why? Taxes going up? Don’t want the stadium near where you live? concern about a change of traditions and new place to tailgate?
  5. I really hope/think that is Bates.
  6. Stokes is going to be an awesome pro. Actually is exactly the kind of player McD likes.
  7. Nothing about this concerns me at all as a Bills fan. At what point do we have enough sample size to know what Jackson is as a passer? In his MVP year he threw for 3127 yards. That was a 15 game year for LJ, so he threw for just over 200 yards a game. Nearly half the yards, receptions, and touchdowns will be distributed among TE’s and RB’s. That leaves about 1500 for all the WR’s. Not really a place I would want to sign unless it was the best money, by far.
  8. Powell catches them and hands the ball to McKenzie?
  9. Can you put some context on those sacks? When and against who? I’m not for or against the player. I’ve seen a few posters say things like hard pass. One poster claims to be a PSU fan and says no. I wish those posters could give some reasoning. As for the Josh comparison, the mental side is what flipped me. I was guilty of listening to all the pundits. Once Josh was selected I spent the next day doing my own research that included a psychosocial assessment from afar. I watched tape from Wyoming to the senior bowl. I knew by the next afternoon that Josh had a far greater chance of being good or great than being a bust.
  10. People still want to hold up Lamar. And if you are Vegas, people want to bet on Baltimore.
  11. Literally was my thought.
  12. If you really liked it, it this down to Stangs and Boys. Not sure even that is cool.
  13. There are some things you can’t put a monetary value on. I’m not saying Hughes won’t restructure but it will be a win/win in the form of an extension to lessen cap hit now, not a pay cut. Unless, Jerry goes to Beane and says he will drop his salary.
  14. Good deal for the Bills. I think Addison and his agent felt more comfortable taking that deal than testing FA with the lowered cap. Seeing some of the DE still available out there, Addisons camp might have chosen wisely.
  15. Who does Buddy Nix work for these days?
  16. We have our starting team in place, with the need for a pass rush specialist. Bills need to get quality depth that can develop and become starters. That’s the only way to really beat the cap; consistently get players on their first contracts to be starters.
  17. Yep, it feels like Goff trajectory flattened once it got out that McVay was having the Rams get to the line and snap the ball before the helmet speaker went off. Not sure how accurate that is for the time sequence because I didn’t watch the Rams as close as the Bills.
  18. You are probably right, but who has a ton of cap space left that also needs a corner?
  19. The place teams get into trouble is reaching for need or overlooking deficiencies in players because they need that position addressed. Drafting in the first round is a BPA mixed with need.
  20. I listen to LockedOn Bills podcast and the host Joe brought up the very low percentage of impactful pass rushers picked in the end of the first round. To me this indicates teams reach and draft for need over BPA. Their is actually a higher percentage that a player picked in the third round or later might turn out to be an effective pass rusher. Interesting stuff for us to consider and remind ourselves if this happens in the draft.
  21. Kroft wasn’t a bad guy or bad TE. Supposedly he has the smallest feet ever. I think he has a size 10 on that frame. It’s no wonder he falls over.
  22. Love to see a hybrid guy like this picked someplace in the draft. Especially since it appears ole Billy Boy is going to try to recreate the Gronk/Hernandez days.
  23. Why would they trade him? Their GM really struggles showing high levels of competency.
  24. I feel like they haven’t been good at this for years. It’s like the 2 point defense, noticeably bad in a very specific area.
