Ok. This is a good argueement. Thank you. And i am not being a smart ass.

My thoughts exactly. I dont want to call John names, but he really is a judgemental S.O.B. Vick is exciting to watch, if nothing else. He also took the Falcons to the NFC Championship game. With Dan Reeves' offensive play calling. I think you are going to see what he is really capable of with coaching under Reed. The dog stuff was terrible. I am not giving him a pass, but if he spends the rest of his life out of trouble and trying to make ammends for it, then who are we to try and keep him down. Vick is better then any QB the Bills have now. And most likely better then any first year rookie. I dont know about you people, but how much longer you want to wait to win games? As far as his pre-incarceration days. He was a good qb. I think he never had good coaching. He seems to have, matured on the field some. Not throwing passes 100mph to his outlets. And is learning how to read and react. Let Reed finally teach him how a qb should play. Then let Buffalo benefit from it!

OK. First was not trying to be a 'spin doctor' I guess you have never made a mistake? or did something bad. look, i asked about his talent. I am not going to get into religion or even the human nature, but if neither one of you can forgive a man, expect the same treatment out of life. Oh and once again, i think what he did to those animals was disgusting. He was judged by man here on earth, and if you are a religious person, then you know it is not up to us to judge him past that. Regardles of that, is he better then what the Bills have talent wise now. And is he more of a proven talent then a first rounder in next years draft?
-
Bingo! Vick or another legit proven pro qb allows you to draft your LT. And then go out and draft a qb in 2012. Do what Green Bay did with Rodgers. Allow him to develope and sit for a year or two.
-
I am all about the Oline. You could draft your LT with your top ten pick. Then come back in 2012 and draft a qb in the second or third round to groom for a year. I just want to win. Vick is exciting and he is a proven winner. He has a good winning percentage. And he would give you the chance to start winning next year. Not another few years of developing another qb and maybe winning in three years from now.
-
I understand the whole QB of the future thing. But look what Kurt Warner did in Arizona. Wouldnt you rather have 3 years of good football? Drafting a qb in the first by no means ensures you have your qb for the next 10 years. Wouldn't you like to watch some meaningful football next December? Just syaing.

Now i am the first one to think what he did off the field was horrible. I have two awesome dogs myself. And i lived here in Atl, and watched how he almost single handedly brought down the Falcons. Petrino helped. But after watching him some the first two games, he seems to still have the talent. It looks like he is also being coached up by Reid and his staff. Vick is saying all the right things. In an interview yesterday, he said all he wants is a chance to be a starter for a team next year. With him and Spiller in the backfield. You could spend your first couple picks on OL, maybe start to have something. Vick is still young. Thoughts? and please focus on talent people.

We competed for more than half of the game....
atlbillsfan1975 replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent is done. They will start him for a few more games. But he will get hurt. I do not want him too, dont get me wrong. But it is just a matter of time. Then you want to see Brohm. Fitz is a career back up. Brohm is the unknown. I say put the kid in after the bye. See what you got. Find out if you need to draft a qb in the first next year, or you got a future with Brohm. But the team did compete for a half. Once the Interception happened it was over. -
Exactly. What Atl did in the 2008 draft was perfect. Get your franchise QB and your legit LT. I believe they also drafted Lofton in the second round that year. He is a very good LB. Then went out and got Turner in F.A. They are still a few pieces away on D, but they are well on their way to being a good team for a longtime. If you look at how ATL has turned their team around it is amazing. Funny what a good GM and a good scouting dept can accomplish!

One of two things happens this week the Bills win this week, pulling us all back in. Thinking maybe there is hope for this year. i always qoute the line from Godfather 3 when it comes to Buffalo 'Just when i think i am out, they pull me back in!' Or and probably more likely, They get destroyed, and in the lose Lynch gets hurt, thus ending any possible trade help. I know call me one of the pessimists. But this season is going to test us as fans.
-
Trent looked horrible, but so did the line. The worse thing that could of happened did on the first possesion. He gets hit hard on his blindside, and he simply played scarred from then on. Now i dont much blame him, playing behind that line. Every oline man played pretty poorly. Heck even Wood got over powered at least a few times. I was hoping that the team could come together by around week 8. And was going to judge them from the second half of the season on. But i just cant see how Trent progress'. He is scarred and it shows. He has 'happy' feet. And is way to quick to check down. I hope i am wrong, but i dont think even Chan can fix Trent.

Would Maybin work better as...
atlbillsfan1975 replied to sllib olaffub's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You will see Maybin in some stunts this year, once a crease opens, sort of a safety blitze. Where he would wait one beat, then curve off the NT butt. Your NT moves the center down, and Maybin fills the gap. You cant coach speed, he has that. Now if he can just learn what to do with it, and the angles to take, he could have some impact on the game. -
ESPN Insider: Inside Bills Running Back Logjam
atlbillsfan1975 replied to goynahan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are correct. I know people were upset about not getting a LT or QB this draft. but at 9 Spiller was the best player by far. Jackson is a good back, not great. Lynch is Lynch. I really have no clue. He can look great and also look like he has no clue where to run. Spiller is the type of game changer that Buffalo hasnt had forever. Maybe a team has a few injuries and the Bills then can take advantage of the situation. Buffalo would then have another 3rd or maybe 2nd rounder to play with -
Pat White getting cut loose?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BoozeCruise's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your qb would not last half a season in a read-option offense in the NFL. You want your qb taking those hits? The 'Wildcat' is similiar, but even then teams have running backs line up as the qb. -
For the past 3 years i have been thinking this. And until other teams in the league treat the Pats like the Ravens did in the playoffs they will keep winning. The Ravens did not look at the uniforms or Bellichek, they played football and beat the crap out of the Pats. When/if the Bills do this and the rest of the AFC east i will agree they are done.

DiCesare column: Schobel wanted his schedule
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way i hear it he walked around the locker room all year talking about retireing. Saying he wanted to go and be on his ranch. That is all he deserves to me. You deserve in this life what you earn. he has earned a lot of money and therefore the right to retire. How many of you would like to retire in your early 30's? I mean come on. He is a decent player, but that is not the talk or actions of a leader. Get to work or stay home. But i am 100% behind the Bills. Oh and they own him, so you tell him show up and play or sit home. I would not trade him either. -
I actually spoke with a scout that was in the war room the morning of the draft in Indy. He told me that they were going back and forth on Leaf and Manning right up to the pick. Polian swears there was never any doubt, which of course he would say. But just think how different the last 12 years would have been for Indy if they had gone with Leaf.
-
To me it seems as if you have two guys who like each other and can work well together in Gailey and Nix. They really do seem to have a plan and a shared vision. I like the direction they will take this team. I do not however think they will get the Bills to the super bowl but will start the rebuilding process and actually make the Franchise into a profesional team again.

There is no QB competition as most think of one.

I am not a fan of any of them. None has done a thing really. Flashes dont count. Brohm is the unknown. I think he gets his shot this year at some point. -
So How Many BCS Championships Did Georgia Tech Win?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well but Spurrier was a great college coach in FLA, mediocre in SC. Chan was Mediocre at Ga Tech, mostly due to recruiting. In the NFL he wont have to worry about that. -

Didnt TE com ein and start as a rookie? so he can also pick up a 'system' pretty quick. Fitz is a backup, just like Kelly Holcomb was. He is a band aid till your starter gets healthy. I am afraid that TE is damaged. We can hope a new regime brings in a new confidence, but i doubt it. Brohm is the unknown. Maybe he can develope maybe not. The ATL game was no indication of his skills. No Bill wanted to be here that day. Brown is a project. Ultimately the Bills really dont have a long term solution on this team right now, just a lot of ifs and buts. -

Living here in Atl and being friends with some Ga Tech boosters, the knock on Chan was that he belonged in the pros. He was much to leinant on the players. Make no mistake he is a great X and Os guy. And at the pros that is what you need. But you are right he was not good at recruiting for the most part, except Calvin johnson. And i am a UGA fan
