  1. Maybe not so much how the Bills responded, but that opposing D Cords learned his tendencies? And thus were able to game plan. I am not sure. But your stats do say something. An di know you can make stats say anything. but think about it. Its why a young pitcher looks good the first time thru the batting order.
  2. Then keep reading the board. many people on here feel as if he is the solution for the next few years. And they are right, but not because he is good. He is just the tallest midget at QB for Buffalo. I just feel like Fitz will look really good sometimes and others(in the same game) leave us scratching our head. I cant emphasize how wrong i wish i was. And no i dont want Rob Johnson or JP Losman. But i hope the Bills can figure out a longterm solution at QB, if not we have another decade of losing to look forward to.
  3. Stats are great. But time and time again Fitz showed why he is a back up. Under pressure, not just a 300lb line man, he crumbles. Next year IF the bills are in the play off hunt he will let us down. I wish it wasnt the case. Trust me i do. But he just reeks of a guy that is great when it doesnt count really.
  4. I am righ twith you. people on this board who think he is the solution are going to very upset next year. He is not a starting QB. He is good off the bench 'holding down the fort' so to speak. I dont blame them for not getting a qb early in this draft. But to think Fitz is a starting qb, much less a play off qb just show lack of knkowledge of the game.
  5. While I agrre totally on your two defensive players, on offense i got to go with the two tackles and Fitz. More so Bell at LT then the RT. I want to see what Fitz does if it is December and the Bills are 8-5. How does he take that next step, when the pressure is really on? he showed last year why he has been a back up. Has the ability to look really good and other times leave you saying 'why did he make that throw'? I hope for all our sakes the Bills are 8-5 in December, and we are able to watch intresting, relevant football from the team we love!
  6. Nix and Gailey are from the south. They also have a lot of contacts with coaches/staffs of teams in the ACC and SEC. They can scout players and see there talent level and yes interview a player for an hour at the combine. But his college coaches are going to know a kid better then anyone. Nix and Gailey will get the real story about a guy. Also look at who has won the National Championship for years. SEC. Sorry guys but the best players in the country are from the South. Maybe Ralph realized this and got a southern scout that had a lot of contacts in the south to be his GM? Might be a big stretch on my part, but hey with all the "Ralph is cheap, senile, etc....".
  7. First of all i am a huge football fan. And i admire Tom Brady's accomplishments as a football player. He will be considered one of the best all time. He and Bellichek are like Montanna and Walsh. However watching him cry was very eye opening to me. I mean i dont really know the guy, none of us do. But if you can cry about getting taken in the sixth round, it tells me you dont know real disapointment. And i hope he never does. Maybe i was a little jealous 'like come on, really'? By no means do i begrudge the guy for being in touch with his emotions, but it came across almost fake to me. And no, i am not an insurance salesman angry that he thought he would have to do my job. I wish the guy nothing but the best. But no i dont want to see him cry over getting selected in the sixth round.
  8. This was talked about on Atlanta radio last year. Not often in Atlanta do they get a pick right. Kind of like Buffalo in that regard over the past 15 years. People in Miami are still pissed about that pick. Give me a franchise QB with an average Oline over a great oline and an average qb any day. Look at Manning and Rothlisberger, You can make an arguement that Greenbays oline was not the greatest in football or even Arizonas from a few years back. You have to have a franchise QB to win in this league. And save me the Trent Dilfer arguement. There is an exception to every rule, And the Parcells guide looks like a way to at the very leats minimize the bust potential.
  9. Isnt that what everyone said about Warner after his time with the Giants? Different styles of play. And maybe it was Reid that made McNabb look good. But he is better then Fitz. Sorry.
  10. Shockey to me has always been just a pass catching TE. Not really a great blocker. He is often injured. This Oline will need a lot of help blocking still on the perimeter, something Shockey will not help with.
  11. If you think Fitz is th elong term solution then be ready for a lot of 4-12, 6-10, or at best 8-8 seasons. Not sure newton is the answer, but i know Fitz isn't! And so does Mr Wilson it sounds like.
  12. Seriously? This kid will not make it out of the top 10. Gauranteed!!! Not saying that means anything. But he will be long gone before the Bills pick in RD2, let alone 4 or 5.
  13. buddy know talent in the south. His roots are here. I believe he will get the most honest shake down on newton from the guys who coached him/coached against him. If Buddy and then Chan think he is the guy i am sold. I know he is going to have a lot to work on. And am totally fine with him sitting for a year. or even two ala McNair. But the kid is not dumb. I know what style he played in, i watch SEC football every week. To me he has the intangibles that Russell never had. Then DL and LB are perfect. Go OL in the 4th and also a DB. Who ever they draft they need to be producers.
  14. Character concerns? You mean cause his old man is a greedy parent trying to live off his 20 y/o kid? Wow! you are a little harsh. And i know about the computer incident. But with a role model like his dad, what you expect? He seems to me the real deal. great attitude, makes everyone around him play better. A leader. Something Young never was. Not saying DT is the wrong place to go, just saying you dont win championships with a great Dline, ask the Vikings!
  15. The kid is a winner. he won the JuCo national Championship. Too. i really dont know if he is going to be the next Rothlisberger(sp) or the next Vince Young. But at 4-12 you got to start taking some chances. And there are just as many bust Dline man as there are qbs through out draft history.
  16. And that why the athlete today is twice as good as 30 years ago?
  17. Aj Green is great. i am a UGA fan. But even after they got him back UGA struggled. If anything go to where he played college and see what happened to a struggling team when he arrived. They still struggled. I am talking about this year. He missed the first 4 games. UGA was 1-3. They ended the year 6-7. And that was college. You think he gonna make a big difference on a 4-12 team with a bad d front 7, and a career back up qb?
  18. Were you not impressed from watching the practice drills? or game? If it is the drills i will only say this, part of helps an offensive lineman is the defense not knowing what is coming. ie a pass or rush and the count. Those drills are decieving to me. If the best oline man goes against the best pass rusher 10 times. They should split or maybe the oline man wins 4 out of the 10. Just an old oline mans opinion.
  19. I think the Oline is a RT away from being a solid unit. They also need some depth. Those guys could be on the staff and need developement. They understand, like most football people, that Oline is a unit. You need to have a nucleus of atleast 3 guys on the unit. The bills have that in Bell, Wood, Levitre, and maybe Hangartner.
  20. The thing that struck me was that norwood missed the 45 yd field goal...wide right. man foreshadowing. I had forgot all abot that, till that clip. God if he would have just hit that one in the SB! That was when i realized wanting something bad, doesnt mean you are gonna get it! Still love the Bills and always will. heres to hoping the Bills are turning the corner and headed back to the glory days!
  21. Chan was brought in to stabilize the franchise. Him and Nix seem to have a plan. the Oline is progressing nicely. I think they are a year and player away from being a great unit. This year is not a playoff year, but more a 8-10 win campaign. If the team plays with the heart it did this past year, and there is a few more talented players added, then i think this is achievable. 2012 is when you hope you can start to really make a run, but the Bills are still missing the QB piece, which is huge!
  22. If you were going to make a change at DCord, you would have. You dont bring a guy in as one thing and then change him to another before a single game has been played. Wannstedt definetly gives another strong defensive mind to the staff. I like his knowledge and hope he can work well with Edwards. Sometimes it does not have to be 'all or nothing'.
  23. Does this change Lucks mind? Now what if Stanford hires a head coach that decides he wants to run a different offense? Luck has to learn a new system? Any thoughts? or Does it not change a thing for Luck?
  24. Isn't that true about any qb? Not trying to be a smartass. Mallet had his chance to prove he was a gamer lastnight. He failed. If you noticed after he had his rahrah speech on the side line, the team never got another point. Just saying. I know he is trying to be a leader, but to me, you either have it or you dont.
  25. I saw this too. No way they take a CB. If they do then Bills fans can revisit Buddys' interview where he stated he watches the same game as everyone else. If the Bills dont have a shot at Luck(which they shouldn't), then they have to go front 7 on D. CB is not a concern when you do not have a pass rush. If the Bills had any semblance of a rush, these corners/dbs would be awesome. The QB from Mizzou was also weird. Not sure about that one. Kind of seemed like an 'I told you about him first' thing from McShay.
