I know it was a joke. But i do think LT is the biggest area of need with the most first round talent available. What if Bell came back to the Bills and they work out a good deal? Similar to a McGee, good base and then pay for play contract. Would anyone wanna then offer Mike Wallace a contract? Knowing you would lose your First Rd this year?

I agree with you. In an interview less then a month ago, Budday stated he does not want to reach for a DE at 10. Now with the Mario signing, he for sure doesn't have to do that. The Bills did make Bell an offer, he did not counter supposedly. He is testing the waters...and good for him. LT should be the pick as the roster stands right now. And if Buddy really likes one of the LT. Not sure about Glenn, watch a lot of UGA games. He is a big physical guy, and very athletic. If the Bills could turn Bell and Peters into a starting LT think about what they could do with a first round guy? Ha

My thoughts on our first 3 picks
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everything i have read has Buddy saying he likes the OT in this draft. Says he thinks OT is deep this year in the first round. Same interview he said he doesn't like the DE/OLB class for first rounders. The no signing of Bell has got to make you wonder. Plus they have zero OT behind Pears and Hairston that are worth a crap. Talk about an area in need of some starters/depth. Pears is solid, but Hairston looks like he is going to be way better. Why not take a LT make Hairston starting RT and let Pears rotate/ have a great line in place for the next 5 years. provided you can extend Levitre and Wood. having a great Oline will go a long way into making this entire team look better. Chan used smoke and mirrors last year to make this line look solid. But defenses started to figure out his tendencies due to his lack of time for his qb. I think if he had a great oline his offense would really click. -

This is what i was thinking too. And to say he was neutralized in college because teams played to him, isn't good either. In the pro's he wont be able to out jump a lot of those db's or out muscle them. He needs to get seperation. Is he strong enough/quick enough to do that? having said both those things...if Buddy and Chan like him and take him at 10, i will trust them. But i seriously think Buddy probably already gave Goodell his picks for the first rd. 3 OT. IF all those are gone, highly unlikely, then he takes a wr. And i do not buy the pro- day making a huge difference for a player, save a qb. -
Kraft acts like he is so smart. They won the lottery in getting Brady in the sixth round. Now he wants to play revisionist historian. can not take away Brady is a great QB and the perfect soldier to Belichik as the general. But since the whole spygate thing they have not won the Big Game. It use to be if you gave Belicheat two weeks to prepare they would never lose, now maybe we know why?

My case for Michael Floyd

I just do not see it. I think Buddy likes to pick guys from his back yard for skill positions. He believes if you want speed and size go to the south. I gotta concur. Tackle is the pick. Buddy has pretty much said so in every interview. And since he has yet to lie about things like this, i hesitate to think he is now. -

Not enough to get back into the 1. See if he falls? personally, the kid put on a bunch of weight and played extremely unmotivated at SC once Garcia went away. Now he dropped the weight and got into shape for the combine. So can spin it 'he wants to get paid', or 'he realized he has to take his career seriously'. Buddy and Chan have talked to Spurrier i am sure, about him and Ingram Not sure he has the mental toughness? any SC guys would like to hear your take on the kid is? -
It is a good thing your not and we can tell you are not a football expert. This is exactly what Buffalo needed, a pass rusher. And as far as chemistry goes, so bring in more guys with less talent? How does more outsiders help w chemistry? With this signing you get one player, with proven talent, who by all rights is a good guy. Will Mario Williams get Buffalo to the SB? Probably not. But are the Bills better with him then with out him? YES!!! And if you argue that point, forget an expert, you are a moron. Sorry. I hope you and yours have a safe and happy weekend too!!!!

Buddy will be on PFT in a moment
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix is a straight shooter. No wr in the first. If Hill is there in the second, which he woul dof for sure pre combine, maybe they take him. If they do i will not think of it as a reach, due to Buddy and Chan's connection to GT. OT in the first, then BPA in the second at highest need areas WR, CB, OLB, in that order to i think. Pesonally i would love to see them take a pass rushing DE in the second. With how big Mario is, they could steal a page out of the Giants D play book and move him inside on pasing downs. basically say '3 and long, have 4 guys on the line that know how to get to the passer'! I think the team has good run stopping ability right now on it. -
Is Schobel considering coming out of retirement?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to NishP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just do not see it. From talking to guys that worked for the team, and dealt with the players, they said Schobel was always more interested with his ranch and hunting then playing football. Now i do not begrudge him. Hell he was smart. made his money and got out. Seriously, when he can walk and remember his name at 60, who can blame the guy. -
I agree. But if they were willing to sign Meachem, it makes you wonder will they make another move. Either way i think they wait now. let some of the guys out their sweat, as every team will. The big players are all gone. It is down to the second level guys. The longer they sit, the more their price drops. Maybe Buddy will pick up an OLB or CB now instead, if he thinks the money is better spent that way. Then draft your other areas of need in the first 3 rounds?

How Much Cap Space Is Left
atlbillsfan1975 replied to DefenseWinzChampionshipz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they are starting to build some depth. The draft should also go a long way into adding to that, either by picking guys that will be starters immediately, or buy adding guys that need a year OT in round one. Allows Pears/Hairston to fight over RT spot. Either way then you have 7 guys that have played significant time. Round 2 should provide another starter, maybe OLB or CB or WR. Round 3 -4 will provide guys fighting for playing time/depth. That is three more players, since Bills have two 4th rounders. Rounds 5-7 should be prospects or guys that maybe can develope a year and then be contributors. Maybe even get a ST guy. As far as Kraft goes, he is a smart guy, but also a lucky guy. He wants everyone to forget that Brady was a seventh round pick...basically they won the lottery. It is like a guy who won $200mil trying to give you business advice. No thanks. And since the Pats got busted cheating they have not won a super bowl. I bring this up because in the hay day of the Pats if you gave Bellicheat two weeks to prepare he never lost...and maybe now we know why? -
Who's next??? Capitalize on this momentum!!!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Nix is saying, for the right price at the right position, we may make a deal. If they could get a player at WR, OLB, or CB for a fair price, they will look at it. I do not believe he is going to look at LT, because in his mind he wants one of the guys in the draft. IMHO. But i do not think they will make any deals till at least after the weekend. At this point, the longer a guy sits out there, the better it helps the teams looking. -

Could be true. But also sounds like teams are thinking twice about making another back up who showed his stuff in one game. I mean you got Ryan Mitchell and Rob Johnson to remember that leason. Also got to wonder how him playin gon GB makes teams hesitant. Good team, good system. Might work against him some? I am sure he will get a decent contract, but it will be incentive laden. -
With a pass rush how will or DB's look?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to HerdMenatlity1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This year is the year they take LT in round one, no question. As far as DB's, i think they will look great. McKelvin will lead the team in interceptions this year(i know i am going to get flamed for that). Byrd will be close. And i love Byrd. Both their play is similar. Byrd has better instincts but McKelvin has amazing talent. Lets hope this year the light turns on for McKelvin and he puts it all together. -
All Peyton Manning, all the time!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to thewildrabbit's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get the feeling he is going to Tenn. May be completely wrong, but Adams want him bad. Peyton has a bunch of ties and is even getting offered ownership in the deal. Not to mention he stays in the same division, helps him in his transition to a new team. -

He plays ILB, or did, in a 4-3 scheme here in ATL. Not saying he would not be good at OLB, but the knock on him in Atl and why he got let go was he can not cover. Falcons were dead last in 2011 in third down defense. basically Falcons felt like his asking price was to high for a two down LB. FWIW. Not sure who is next. Where are they now in cap space? How much could they free up by cutting Edwards?? -
Defensive Starting Line Up
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Overseas Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it a lot too. Got to wonder if they have Kelsay and Williams on the field at the same time? Bring Merriman in as a pass rusher to spell Kelsay? Need an OLB, rather Morrison be depth/rotated in. McGee over Florence to start. Anyone heard anything on Scott? He was put on the back burner the past few days while they dealt with Mario Williams. If he has not signed anywhere, maybe Scott comes back at a reasonable price? -
Buddy disagrees with you. And seeing how he has yet to posture and not follow thru, LT is the pick. No question. He has stated more then a few times that he does not like the DE class for the first round. And that he like the 4 tackles. Kalil was number one, but their were three others he mentioned and on ein particular. I think Adams was one Buddy really liked. It was reported Buddy was at Ohio States pro day to watch Adams. Correct me if i am wrong? Was it Martin? or Reiff?
-
Yes, with kelsay on the other side for 1&2 downs i like it. It will be interesting to see if they still grab another DE in the second or third round. Or if Merriman stays andbecomes th ethird down pass rusher to replace Kelsay. This also will make the need to upgrade DB's a little less. And should Make the LBs look a heck of a lot better. You can not double team all three guys. And by right each guy will command a double team. Someone should be left one on one, which is exactly what Wanny wants. Man i am pumped. If this line plays healthy, They are gonna give The Pats all they can handle this year.

Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
atlbillsfan1975 replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem is no one stops and takes a breath anymore. The minute they have a thought they tweet or text or post or whatever...Journalism is the worst. Think about it, people who get into journalism love finding out info and sharing it, otherwise they would not do what they do. Now once someone gets the reputation as being 'knowledgeable', their every thought is allowed to be heard, because they give it out. And we, the masses, hang on every word. Journalist are in such a hurry to break a story, because they understand it wont be long till some one else does. Ergo why at points during situations like this, we ride the emmotion train up an down
