Michael Floyd - Sports Science
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He may be the pick, but i can gaurantee you if you asked Buddy Nix if he saw Sports Science, he would tell you "we didnt have that course when i went to college". Btw, did Buddy go to Notre Dames Pro Day? -
Discussing Chris Hairston for a minute
atlbillsfan1975 replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only thing that worries me about him is his weight distribution. He seems very top heavy, and has smaller legs. I hope the ankle sprain was just a freak occurence, but think the Bills must add a tackle early(by round 3). Someone that could rotate in with Hairston. And in two years could play RT or move Hairston there. Round 6 or 7 find another project guy that needs a year on the PS, if the draft fals that way. -
I like the Browns #22 pick, and this is why
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They just restructered McGee's contract. Very team friendly/incentive ladden. And Florence is solid, not great. I agree they let McKelvin walk barring a huge break out year. I think they need a CB in the first three rounds. But also think they need LB help and OL help too. To me anything past round 3 is a big gamble as to what you get. Could be a great player but far too many wash out in a year or two. -
On taking Decastro at 10
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BrooklynBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with your theory. Do you agree that players can have a similar Value wether it is a percent or number or letter grade? IE if you have DeCastro rated at 4.8 out of 5 and you also have say Gilmore at 4.8 out of 5, would you not then look at what you need more now? -

To many CB's early. Gilmore and Williams would be your starters? Still leaves you with McGee, McKelvin, Florence and Rodgers before Josh Robinson. I like Gilmore at 22, and OLB at 37 but think you gotta go OT before the fourth round. -

Greg Williams ...caught on tape....
atlbillsfan1975 replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
after hearing that i wonder was it edited some? I mean Williams sounds crazy, half sentences, repeats himself like Rainman, very strange. Think maybe he has been hit in the head a few times and wants others to feel his pain? Seriously, this goes against everything the NFL is very publicly trying to stop- 'Head Shots'. 'Cut off the head and the body dies'. Not to mention taking out guys knees. If Goodell doesn't throw Williams out of the league for ever, he is allowing a huge liability to be involved. -

Thats your opinion, isnt it? And i mean it honestly. You got a Micheal Vick that took a beating last year, and probably will again this year. If he goes down who do they have to back him up? I am being very serious. And Vicks style of play lends him to getting hit more often then most QB's. I get that on paper they look great, but i wouldn't bet on them. They play in the same division as the Giants. The Cowboys are solid but not great. A lot of teams in the NFC got better. Packers will be hungry, Detroit is a team on the rise, Chicago is still a tough out, The Saints and Falcons are very solid teams. Carolina and Tampa Bay will be improved. San Fran should win the west. Not much else out there, i will give you that. You could be right, but to say it is a done deal for the Eagles is a stretch. -

I get what you and the rest of the guys are saying, i do. I know QB is the most important position, but if you have a guy you know needs more maturing, why draft him this low? So what if you go out and have a 2-14 year next year, and can pick the best QB next draft, you just pissed away your top 10 pick this year. I guess it is a catch 22. or at the very least a huge gamble. -
Claiborne gets a 4 in the wonderlic
atlbillsfan1975 replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like a good kid. Maybe a little shy. Maybe he does not test well at all. I bet dollars to doughnuts he still goes before Buffalo picks at 10. -
Living in Atlanta and having some very close friends who at GT fans, i never once heard about Hill. You always heard about Johnson and D Thomas. I asked my friend, who is an obnoxious Tech fan about Hill, He dropped a lot of Balls his first two years, a bit of a head case but nothing too bad. Guess if i got to choose between the two i would go with Hill, he is also an area of need. being big, strong and Fast does not always translate into being a good football player. If you did not dominate in a non BCS confrence to me you are not worth a high pick.

That is just a silly comment. vanderbilt is an amazing school Heck UGA is considered one of the leading centers for the fight against Cancer. I can name more, but if you have someone who is fighting Cancer, you should eat your words quickly. The SEC has very prestigious universities. Yes some of the football players and other big sports turn out guys that will never be doctors or lawyers. You could say the same thing about ACC, Big East, Big Ten and so on... If the kid has a learning disablity then that says something. Marcel Dareus seems like a very well spoken intelligent person. Keep spreading stereo types that are long gone. -
I have not seen him lose his cool like that. he cost his team a t.o.

Belichick hates losing to Buffalo. You saw it last year when the Bills beat him at home. He went Ape Sh*t on the side lines at the end. I do not know why, maybe because of the Lawyer Malloy move? I agree he isn't just countering the Bills, but i do think Belichick is very smart. He knows the league thinks how you stop the Pats is to follow the Giants approach. So he is taking steps to counter it. But unless he can give Brady a shot of courage, its useless. Brady is a tremendous talent, but he can be rattled. He is not Brett Favre. Brett loved it when you hit him, it would fire him up more. Brady sulks and yells at his line. This is why i do not like Brady. It is football, even Qb's should be tough.

Exactly, great skills but doesn't comprehend where his teammates are. I am sorry but you should be a complete player for your position if you are selected in the top 10. Rewarding someone who did not try sends a bad message to the rest of the players in H.S and College. -

This is sad. Can teams ask him to read for them? I mean at the combine they all got a chance to interview him. I know with QB's they usually make them do film study and even 'chalk time'. So either- A.He can not read/'slow' OR B. He didn't try. If he slips to 10 i think you gotta let him keep going? -

But those guys had a much bigger body of work to look at, except Newton, and he was a freak of nature and just won the N.C. I get what you are saying and i am glad the Bills are not taking that gamble. Could work out and hope it does, as long as he doesn't go to the Fins and becomes the next Marino. ha -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to KevinRome's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? I just do not get that. I mean scouts for teams are out there the entire year at games. Tannehill has been on people's radar for over a year. You are going to tell me that since the end of the season till now he has moved up that far? Or is it that media guys do not have good contacts with teams to know how they feel a player projects? Where does all this stuff come from through out the year. For awhile people been saying he is a late first to second round player. He could go 4 or he could go 44 i have no clue. But it sounds like there is a lot of people unsure of how good the kid is. I think that if you take him in the top 10 you are gambling. He has 19 starts at QB in college. He is going to need atleast one year maybe two to develope. And then you hope the potential was worth the pick. Goes against the in the top 10 you should get a starter from day one. RG and Luck are going to start the first play of 2012 season, barring injury. you can destroy a guy if you throw him to the dogs before he is ready for it. -
Demetrius Bell - Now an Eagle
atlbillsfan1975 replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, when he said the 'we've been talkin gto him all along' i kinda inferred he meant Nix. that is my bad. And yes i do think it helps the Bills the longer he sits there unsigned. I was worried that some team was going to offer him a huge deal because of his age and potential. But it looks like teams have gotten smarter and not willing to throw a ton of money at an oft injured Olineman. Especially when the latest injury directly correlates with him being not the strongest guy. Bell will probably sign a one or two year deal, heavy on incentives for staying active on the roster. If he does so then he gets his big payday after that one. The only other thing they, him and his agent, could be thinking is lets see who gets injured. If he is unsigned by draft maybe he decides to see what happens with ota and mini camps. -

Draft: what do you do if at #10
atlbillsfan1975 replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like your reasoning. But personally i like Cordy Glenn from UGA. Played in the south at an SEC school had numerous starts at gaurd. Played some center and started his senior yr @ LT. He has never had an injury problem. Tough smart kid and a freak of nature. 6'6 and 345. he had a 4.97 40, has 36 inch arms, benched 225 31 times at combine. Had a good senior bowl week he is A man mountain, who could rotate in at LT w Hairston this year. next year it would be his spot and Hairston moves to RT. If Hairston proves he is your LT then Glenn becomes your rt gaurd. if Levitre can not be resigned Glenn is your lt gaurd w hairston as LT. -

Probably he has been offered, but so far Buffalo made him the best offer. Buddy said he and Bell's agent have had constant communication through the process. To me it says Bell is waiting and hoping. but the longer he sits on the market the more of a gamble it is for him. -
Draft: what do you do if at #10
atlbillsfan1975 replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get the point system, but i would personally rather have three guys in the first 46 picks. The chances of hitting on a starter decreases every round. So while i understand what you are saying, i think this team needs at least 3 more guys out of this draft that can be starters this year or next. They also need another 2 guys that can compete for playing time this year and provide good depth for next year/maybe start for injury reasons. If they got that out of this draft it would be a winner. And the likely hood of getting three of those 5 is better with 3 picks in the first 46, no? -
I do not get that from the pic. The guy is a man mountain. He is faster then probably 90% of the people his age and ways 100lb more then them. He is a freak of nature when you think about it. Its like your suburban going as faster as your newly divorced neighbors corvette.
