Former Buffalo Bill Marcus Stroud retires
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great Guy. Loved Watching him and Seymour play at UGA. He had a good year+ with the Bills. Seeing more guys realize it is time to hang it up now then ever. I am sure the concussion epedemic is playing into this some. Also players are maybe getting smarter with their money now? -
Bills mentioned in Saints bounty ledger
atlbillsfan1975 replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching the Hargrove video i am completely amazed at these guys. Do they not realize how deep they are digging the hole? Sorry but i will take Roger Goodell's word over theirs any day of the week. What possibly does he have to gain from this??? These guys are complete and utter fools. This is one instance where Hargrove and Vilma hope that people will listen to them and believe them. Not me. Good luck if you do. You also must believe in many more comspiracy theories. -
If Fitz throws for 3500 yds 25 td and 12 interceptions, the playoff drought is over. Sprinkle in FJ and Spiller combining for around 2000yds and 15td. On D have two lineman with double digit sacks. I don't care who it is. The secondary will lead the league in interceptions. Look for Byrd to go back to his ballhawking days and get 6 int.

Pretty straight forward. Nothing new. I am not overly concerned with all the hype Buffalo is getting. I do not think they will let it go to their head. Having started 5-2 they know you can never count on anything till you have it in the NFL. This team will be focused and ready to prove everyone right. Gailey being a veteran HC also has seen preseason hype a time or two, and knows it means nothing until you play. Really when you see this stuff from national guys it is more of a 'tip your hat' to the front office. They went out and mave great moves. Now the coaches and players have to produce.

Due to the Anti Trust you get sports and government mixed up

Justin Tuck, Giants, new facemask
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
personally i think you get rid of face masks all together and watch concusions go down big time. It the false sense of security they provide that lends guys to lead with their head. Having said that, nice unique desing. -
If the Bills got meachem, would they also been able to get Anderson? And which one would you rather of had?

The Bills have proven they will pay players who deserve it- play well, team guys, not often injured. Levitre has all those qualities, so it would really come down to his expectations vs the Bills. The Bills would like to sign him but they can not over pay for him. To me i do not think he is a Ben Grubbs or Carl Nicks. Maybe just a shade below them. And the fact that he had to play every position last year is more an indictment on the lack of quality depth the Bills had and amount of injuries.

Updated Bills Salary Cap Listing for 2012.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is $120mil the current cap? They will definatly cut a couple guys making $3mil+ i am sure before the end of camp. I could see them extending some guys then. But to be honest the Bills set the precedent with Stevie, Fitz, Jackson, and Chandler that if you play you will get paid. So i do not think the same pressure is on them like before to try and lock their guys up too early. -
Thanks for those stats on Graham. Nice kick return average too in college 23 yds. He should find the field one way or the other for the Bills this year.

Ex-Eagles Pres. Seeking Bills Ownership
atlbillsfan1975 replied to SKRAAPY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would freak Bills fans out, if it came true. Basically sounds exactly like the kind of owner who would move the Bills in a heartbeat. I hope it is all just rumors and hearsay. -
TEN Bills to make or break 2012 season.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Impact can be a positive or a negative. For this i go with Fitz. If he is producing and cuts down on interceptions, then sky is the limit. If not it will effect everyone else on the list you have. Freddie and Stevie on O would suffer. The guys on D would suffer to, be on the field more then they should. And if the Bills are playing from behind a lot, it will null and void the pass rush to a large degree. -
Another Quirk to the Bills Schedule
atlbillsfan1975 replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chan should use this as motivation, like a few of you have stated. Even call out the NFL (in the locker room where no cameras or reporters are) and use the 'us verse the world" strategy. Tell his guy ' no one wants us in the playoffs...tough sh*t, we are going to crash the party' The players need to rally around each other and believe they can do it, this can be a ralling call. -
[LINK] Offseason Breakdown: Buffalo Bills
atlbillsfan1975 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pretty much spot on. IF Fitz can cut his interceptions down to 15 this team should win atleast 2-3 more games. And that goes with out mentioning the pressure opposing qb's will be facing this year. When you weigh the additions vs the losses this team should be in a better position for a playoff spot then they have been in 10 years -
I was thinking this same thing. I could see the bills lining up in a lot of 5-1-5. get your 5 best linemen on the field, have Barnett play MLB(he is a good cover and run defender) then have 3 CB and 2 safeties. This formation would be good against NE and many of th epass happy teams the Bills play. The extra lineman can also bump the TE and through off timing.

What have the Bills done wrong this offseason?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Jeffery Lester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have been building the team the last two years very nicely. Urbik and Pears looked pretty solid last year early in the season. If/when Glenn solidifies himself at LT, you will probably get your wish of Hairston plying a lot of RT and spelling Glenn a series or two during the game his rookie season. The oline and Dline will be the strengths of this team now. So i guess it will just leave people to criticise that it wasn't done sooner. -
Why are Pats the measuring stick for ALL teams?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, and on D the Bills are replicating them. Now If Fitz coul dplay like Eli.... -
yeah you just watched tape on the guy while he was a Kansas St and knew he was going to be good. Made the tough catch and would get nailed but hold the ball. Good size and hands. He reminded me of Ed McCaffrey. I know they are both white, but they have similar size. Mccaffrey has 2 inches on Nelson but both play(ed) around 215. Can play inside or outside. Not blazing speed, but enough to get open.

Jordy Nelson was the pick. That year i was really into the draft. I did a lot of research, and remember thinking Nelson was going to be solid/good. I told a couple fellow buffalo fans here in ATL. He got picked by GB like a spot or two before buffalo IIRC. As far as Easley, the NFL has washed out so many guys it is not funny. It takes a special person/body to be able to play in the NFL. You have to have talent, but also a body that can recover from pain quickly. So far Easley as not been able to stay healthy, thus voiding any talent he may posses. I hope this year is different.

What have the Bills done wrong this offseason?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Jeffery Lester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They took the approach that both lines needed upgrades. While they had the interior of both the OL and DL pretty solidified, they needed edge guys. They brought in two very good DE and drafted two promising OT. You still win this game in the trenches. Brady and NE has always had stellar OL play during his tenure there. I think Buffalo's two lines should be among the best in the league. Some growing pains will occurr, but in two years from now these lines will be amazing. If you have a good Oline you make your running backs, qb, and receivers all better. Same goes on D. If your Dline can win the battle up front, the second and third tier will benefit. I think the real benefit of having a 70y/o GM was just that. His age and wisdom. The game has changed and evolved, but you have to win up front still. -
Eric Wood among league's best...
atlbillsfan1975 replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
like hearing coaches around the league point out interior OL for good play. The Dline coaches watch hours of tape on up coming OL and they see and know more then anyone. Wood was built to be a center, he has had a bad run of luck. Hopefully this year the Bills have an injury free season, and the playoff curse is broken! -
While i do not really think he would be an improvement over Chan as head coach, i think th efact he has HC experience is a huge plus. I always like when a team has DC or OC or Both, that have had experience at HC. To me they understand then the big picture and how communication works. They have maybe less over all responsibility or accountability to an extent. But all HC started on one side of the ball or the other. Now Wanny gets to focus on what he likes to do, Coach D. He does not have to worry so much about interviews and all the other BS a head coach does. As far as the recruiting comment from the article....he did a nice job w M Williams!! ha
