I just saw my buddy who i grew up with. He is a huge UGA fan, i mean the kind of guy who knows work out stats, game stats and such for the whole team. Yes, we constantly tell him to get a life! Ha I asked him before the draft if he thought Glenn could play LT in the NFL. He was not so sure. He gave me some things he liked and disliked about Glenns chances. He is a blind homer when it comes to UGA fans, and has some solid knowledge of the game. I wanted Glenn because i thought he would be a great prospect and when he was there in the second it was a no brainer. Barring injury by the end of this year i think we will all love the Glenn pick!! Enough with Wilson, he is not nor will he ever be on our team. Let it go guys. be happy with what you have. Keep positive energy about your team!!! Lets not wait for something bad to happen, but believe it is our time!!!!

Joe Namath: "Jets more interested in the headlines"
atlbillsfan1975 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you get a chance to watch the Piece on Namath on HBO i suggest it highly. It is great for guys who do not know the story and for some of you guys who were around i am sure you will find it interesting. Namath has had his demons, but he also is/was a guy who said what he believed and then stuck by it. He nearly retired from football when the NFL forced him to sell his shares in a night club in NYC. The night club had mob ties, supposedly, and the NFL did not like the image it was associated with. Being in my mid 30's i have no first hand knowledge of the 60's or Joe's great run and Super Bowl victory. He was maybe the first sports figure to become a mainstream superstar. -
Over or Under 8.5 wins for the Bills this season
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
10 wins. Sweep the Jets and Dolphins, i reall think this can be done. Both teams have far less talent then Buffalo. Split with the Patriots, Bills did it last year, and this squad for Buffalo is better and NE is showing some chinks in the armor. Then pick up two wins against NFC west, probably St Loius and Seattle. Three more against KC, Cleveland, Tenn, Jax or Indy. Even if you split with the Jets i think there is another win in this last group. -
Kinda feel bad for Philbin. He seems like a straight shooting good guy, who has inherited a train wreck. I admire the way he has handled things from what i have seen on hard knocks.

Seattle's Reaction to the Loss of TJack
atlbillsfan1975 replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are kidding. You need to find an immediate starter in round one and in rounds two and three guys that can compete for a starting position. At worse provide quality depth thier rookie year and be starters thier second year. I am all for drafting A qb in one of the first three rounds next year. I like Fitz but think we have enough of his work to see what he is- streaky. The Bills still have to many holes to waste thier best 3 picks on one position. -
Leodis Shines as Nickel CB
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also like McKelvins speed in the Nickel spot for blitzes, if/when Wanny dials one up. McKelvin is one of the fastest guys on the field. Teams will be very concerned with our dline and this hsould allow for some quick blitz opportunities for McK. -
Exactly. The fact that someone is even arguing that steroids and HGH or PEDs should be allowed in the game is nuts. And the question really is why? You want to watch bigger stronger faster guys? They will come. Look at today's athlete to 30 years ago...better training and better legal/healthy suppliments are producing better athletes. So you want to speed up the process. Let your kids watch 300lb guys that can run a 4.2 40y/d dash. Its only a decade or two away. I also notice how the original poster refused to answer my question- Would you let your son or encourage him to take Steroids or PEDs or HGH or anything for that matter???
-
I can not seriously believe you are arguing for Steriod use. Steriods are proven to hurt your body. You do not need them to live. Even in moderation under controlled supervision they can cause long term harm to your body. To say Alzado would have gotten cancer whether he used steroids or not is ignorant on your part. Not every one was born to play a professional sport. Its what makes it such an accomplishment. have you also not wondered why we have so many more acl and ligament related injuries? Because while steriods or PEDs build muscle they do not build ligaments. Thus you put more and more strain on ligaments. I am just trying to arguee your crazy point about being able to watch a better product on the field. You would have guys tearing ligaments left and right. It makes no sense to legalize steroids or PEDs that cause harm to your body now and later in life. Ask yourself if you had a son and he wanted to take them, would you be ok with it??

And the search for the Bills MLB begins
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy the could have gone after was Lofton out of Atlanta in FA. But as others have pointed out, Keuchly was not an option since he was gone before they picked. And a trade up probably would have cost Buffalo thier starting left tackle. -
You feel bad for him? The guy has made more money before 30 then 98% of the world will make in their entire lives. And if he loves the game, then work out, learn the offense, and become good enough to play. Sorry, but if he is out of the league in a year its his own fault. Turn your sorrow to more worthy causes.

Its time to resign Byrd, Levitre and Urbik
atlbillsfan1975 replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the past i would agree. But givin what the front office has proven over the last off season they will resign their own guys. Wait and see how the season plays out some. The FO can not control what the players/agents want to do. The agents want to maximize the dollars earned for their clients. Nix has shown he will pay FAIR price for talent. I am sure passive discussions have begun between both sides, no matter what they say to us or the media. -
Thought Experiment...
atlbillsfan1975 replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what about a young Roethlisburger? Big, strong, athletic. Can throw the ball. -
Fine. You are correct, they did trade him. But you do not just trade a guy to see how a season goes. They traded while they could still get something for him. As we are seeing, the Bills FO made another great decision. Evans is not the same player he was 2 or 3 years ago. Why? heck if i know. But if he can not stick with Jville, what makes you think another team is going to pick him up so quickly? Not to mention there are plenty of 'over the hill' big name wr's sitting around out of work.
-
he is not coming back to Buffalo. No way no how. Chan and Buddy cut him for a reason. As much as many here have tried to give Lee too much credit, Buddy and Chan didn't see it. I do not see Buddy or Chan as the type of guys to bring back someone they let go.
-
It why the NFL is the NFL. Sad to see but just because you are big and an athlete it does not mean you can play pro ball. He did seem like a nice guy. Jasper was worth the pick to see if he developed into something. But at this point the staff must not see enough developement from last year, and thus it is time to cut your losses.

No Huddle / The Amish Rifle
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Donald Duck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Gailey was also running the no huddle as a way to get more practice at it. As a few guys have pointed out, due to the new CBA, practice with pads has been cut down. Therefore i wonder if some coaches maybe will be using preseason games as another way to work on certain areas, ie 2 minute drill. -
Not so fast my friend. IF, Merrimam is healthy and can sustain his health, he will see a lot of the field one way or another. You do not sit a healthy Merriman. The true test for him will come after about 4-6 weeks of the regular season. that is when we all will know if he is back to 'Lights Out' status

Fitz watches the Bachelor with his wife
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bachelor is actually ok to watch . I mean who would not want to be him? Have 20(i think) hot woman all trying to get with you. He even gets to sleep with some of them. girls, especially single ones, love it. I passively watched it due to a girl i was hanging out with liked it. And as others pointed out, he is watching it with his wife. Sounds to me like a healthy relationship. -
Maybin getting a lot of NY hype
atlbillsfan1975 replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya. But if it is not that hard to get 6 sacks, why has no one on Buffalo done so since 2009? -
Maybin getting a lot of NY hype
atlbillsfan1975 replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember talking to some guys i stil know on staff for Buffalo back in 2010 when Buffalo played here in Atlanta. I asked them about Maybin, what the deal was? They told me he might be one of the dumbest players they have ever been around in all their years. I bring this up not to knock him, but to point out i do not think he could pick up the play book. In NY he is being asked to do one thing, line up at OLB and rush the passer. Do not worry about if a TE is here or rb there. Just watch the snap and then go all out to the QB. hand it to Rex and his staff, they saw his strength(notice it is singular) and his weaknesses(plural). They then put him in a position to excel. -
Those years were amazing. I was in high school and would go watch them with my dad, uncle, and cousin at a sports bar in Atl. I was lucky enough to go to 2 of the 4 superbowls. I also got to know some of the players on the team, due to my families ties with the Bills. Richter was all class. A real beast. He worked out crazy hours. Kelly was a big clown. use to always bust our oranges. Lofton was a gentleman through and through. The early 90's Bills was a great time to be a fan of the team. You always KNEW you were going to win a game...until the Super Bowl, sadly. I hope Chan can install that same attitude to this team. i think the talent is pretty close, they just have to believe they deserve it.

I am not going to hammer you. I will say that if and when i do read about anyones death it make me feel sad. yes the reason we are hearing so much about Garret Reid is because of who his father is. And yes Garret had a very troubled life, this makes his death and unfortunately his life sad. Sometimes there are situations that occur and just are a tragedy. nothing new to learn or look for a positive, they just are bad. I feel bad for Andy Reid. I do not have kids, i do have nieces and i know how upset i would be if anything happened to them. if i was a parent i would go home tonight and hug my child and make sure to take the time for them to see what they mean to me. Show them how wonderful it is to be able to have a family and share love with them. I hope Andy finds peace. As far as working goes and how it affects his parenting, none of us know that. It is judgemental and cold to make any assumptions. Blame is a natural human instinct so we can try to feel in control of an accident or mistake. I for one hope Andy and his family do not blame anyone for this tragedy but can move forward in time and remember their son/brother/friend with a smile.

Fights are not really that big of a deal at camp. I mean it is hot,you are with the same group of guys day and night for weeks on time. You are awy from your home and family. Mix it all together and add in a bunch of competitive guys, fights will happen. Some coaches even ensight or egg on a fight every now and then. I remember playing in college and during camp we had two guys get in a fight in the lunch line. They were good buddies but the stress of it all builds and finally explodes. Now if it had been Sanchez getting body slammed by tebow during qb drills, that would be a different story.
