Jackson suffers LCL injury,nothing conclusive...
atlbillsfan1975 replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your ACL controls or stabilizes your lateral movement. You can go forward and backward all day. You can not make 'cuts'. What is the prognosis for a sprained LCL? Probably gets it drained, then a shot of Cortizol in it? Maybe back in 1-2 weeks? -
Any chance the Bills re-sign Merriman...
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did the Bills switch back to a 3-4? And is Merriman the player from 2006? If you answered 'no' to one or both of these questions, you have your answer.... -
Sanchez: "Tebow sells seats"
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All this stuff means nothing. the Bills have to go out and play hard. If the Jets lose a couple of games then this stuff builds and causes problems. This will not help the Bills in the first game. -

Rex bragging about Jets Wild Cat
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Tom stahl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way you beat the wildcat is play good sound football. I mean honestly, whenever Teebow is in the game it is prety much 50/50 he will run it or pass it. DB's have to stick to their man for the entire play, DL has to play good gap control and you have your MLB be the spy on Teebow. I am sure the Jets will have a couple of nice gains with the wildcat. But overall i expect Buffalo to play some good defense, and for Wanny to put them in position to succeed. They will just have to tackle. Wrap up Teebow and wait for help to bring him down. -
What do we want Fitz to be
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3500 yds, 28 tds and 14 ints. Fitz does this and the Bills are in the playoffs. FJ and CJ both rush for around 1000 yds. The D will be able to play to their strong suite- rushing the passer. It all starts with Fitz playing solid and consistant. -
I couldnt agree more. I hope Chan does not use the shotgun empty backfield half as much this year. I understand the Oline was nicked up last year, but not even making a d have to play the run was frustrating. Chan did this many times early in the season even before Fred J. was hurt. Hopefully this year Chan goes with more conventional O formations. 2 wr's, 1 TE, and, 2 running backs. Put Fred or CJ in motion to the slot. This still allows a lot of running and passing options. it will keep the D more honest. Especially the lineman. I know Chan has forgotten more football then i will know. But as a guy that played oline into college i always hated it when a Dlineman KNEW it was a pass play and did not have to even respect the run.

Drayton Florence released by broncos
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a good solution. From all reports McKelvin has excelled at Nickle. Since the bills will probably be in Nickle for a large part of the game, why not leave a player in a position he is better at. McKelvin gets in trouble on plays down the field. But in tight spaces he can utilize his assests- speed and quickness and minimize his liabilities- ball skills and ball awareness. -
You think? What is Fitz base this year? I thought it was only around $8mil? If so then you still have less money in those 4 guys then Brady, Manning, or Brees? Not to mention money tied up in their back ups. My theory all goes out the window if Fitz is getting $12 mil or so... But since our '4th' qb is also going to play a decent amount of wr, you have to take some of his salary and move it towards that position, right?

I just saw my buddy who i grew up with. He is a huge UGA fan, i mean the kind of guy who knows work out stats, game stats and such for the whole team. Yes, we constantly tell him to get a life! Ha I asked him before the draft if he thought Glenn could play LT in the NFL. He was not so sure. He gave me some things he liked and disliked about Glenns chances. He is a blind homer when it comes to UGA fans, and has some solid knowledge of the game. I wanted Glenn because i thought he would be a great prospect and when he was there in the second it was a no brainer. Barring injury by the end of this year i think we will all love the Glenn pick!! Enough with Wilson, he is not nor will he ever be on our team. Let it go guys. be happy with what you have. Keep positive energy about your team!!! Lets not wait for something bad to happen, but believe it is our time!!!!

Joe Namath: "Jets more interested in the headlines"
atlbillsfan1975 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you get a chance to watch the Piece on Namath on HBO i suggest it highly. It is great for guys who do not know the story and for some of you guys who were around i am sure you will find it interesting. Namath has had his demons, but he also is/was a guy who said what he believed and then stuck by it. He nearly retired from football when the NFL forced him to sell his shares in a night club in NYC. The night club had mob ties, supposedly, and the NFL did not like the image it was associated with. Being in my mid 30's i have no first hand knowledge of the 60's or Joe's great run and Super Bowl victory. He was maybe the first sports figure to become a mainstream superstar. -
Over or Under 8.5 wins for the Bills this season
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
10 wins. Sweep the Jets and Dolphins, i reall think this can be done. Both teams have far less talent then Buffalo. Split with the Patriots, Bills did it last year, and this squad for Buffalo is better and NE is showing some chinks in the armor. Then pick up two wins against NFC west, probably St Loius and Seattle. Three more against KC, Cleveland, Tenn, Jax or Indy. Even if you split with the Jets i think there is another win in this last group. -
Kinda feel bad for Philbin. He seems like a straight shooting good guy, who has inherited a train wreck. I admire the way he has handled things from what i have seen on hard knocks.

Seattle's Reaction to the Loss of TJack
atlbillsfan1975 replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are kidding. You need to find an immediate starter in round one and in rounds two and three guys that can compete for a starting position. At worse provide quality depth thier rookie year and be starters thier second year. I am all for drafting A qb in one of the first three rounds next year. I like Fitz but think we have enough of his work to see what he is- streaky. The Bills still have to many holes to waste thier best 3 picks on one position. -
Leodis Shines as Nickel CB
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also like McKelvins speed in the Nickel spot for blitzes, if/when Wanny dials one up. McKelvin is one of the fastest guys on the field. Teams will be very concerned with our dline and this hsould allow for some quick blitz opportunities for McK. -
Exactly. The fact that someone is even arguing that steroids and HGH or PEDs should be allowed in the game is nuts. And the question really is why? You want to watch bigger stronger faster guys? They will come. Look at today's athlete to 30 years ago...better training and better legal/healthy suppliments are producing better athletes. So you want to speed up the process. Let your kids watch 300lb guys that can run a 4.2 40y/d dash. Its only a decade or two away. I also notice how the original poster refused to answer my question- Would you let your son or encourage him to take Steroids or PEDs or HGH or anything for that matter???
-
I can not seriously believe you are arguing for Steriod use. Steriods are proven to hurt your body. You do not need them to live. Even in moderation under controlled supervision they can cause long term harm to your body. To say Alzado would have gotten cancer whether he used steroids or not is ignorant on your part. Not every one was born to play a professional sport. Its what makes it such an accomplishment. have you also not wondered why we have so many more acl and ligament related injuries? Because while steriods or PEDs build muscle they do not build ligaments. Thus you put more and more strain on ligaments. I am just trying to arguee your crazy point about being able to watch a better product on the field. You would have guys tearing ligaments left and right. It makes no sense to legalize steroids or PEDs that cause harm to your body now and later in life. Ask yourself if you had a son and he wanted to take them, would you be ok with it??

And the search for the Bills MLB begins
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy the could have gone after was Lofton out of Atlanta in FA. But as others have pointed out, Keuchly was not an option since he was gone before they picked. And a trade up probably would have cost Buffalo thier starting left tackle. -
You feel bad for him? The guy has made more money before 30 then 98% of the world will make in their entire lives. And if he loves the game, then work out, learn the offense, and become good enough to play. Sorry, but if he is out of the league in a year its his own fault. Turn your sorrow to more worthy causes.

Its time to resign Byrd, Levitre and Urbik
atlbillsfan1975 replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the past i would agree. But givin what the front office has proven over the last off season they will resign their own guys. Wait and see how the season plays out some. The FO can not control what the players/agents want to do. The agents want to maximize the dollars earned for their clients. Nix has shown he will pay FAIR price for talent. I am sure passive discussions have begun between both sides, no matter what they say to us or the media. -
