Mario Williams playing with Injury?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to FitzShowUsYourTitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wonder are all th epeople who are saying 'he is a $100 mil player, he needs to play like it' are you the same people who were saying 'sign him for whatever it costs'? Ask yourself that before you call him out for not having 5 sacks yet. The season is 16 games, the Bills DO have a better pass rusher over all so far then last year. So i think it is fair to see what happens by week 16 not week 5 -
FWIW: Whitner commentary on Bills coaching
atlbillsfan1975 replied to iommi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Whitner was a solid player. Worth the 8th pick? No. But that is not his fault. He tried to be aleader on a team that had none, including its coach- under Jauron. He is showing that with proper players around him and good coaching he is a solid starter in this league. Good luck to him, but yes i hope Graham or another guy gets deep behind him because hit bites on a play fake to freddie. I would come out with that play to start the game. -
I think this is the only way the Bills win. They will have to 'steal' one from the 49ers. Bills can do things on offense to put up points- if Fitz is 'on'. I doubt this though because i think Whitner has been looking forward to playing the Bills for a few years now. He will get the great D fired up. This one could get ugly, early

You and th eOP are saying the same thing. When Fitz plays good the team wins, when he plays bad the team loses. So far fitz is 2 good games and 2 bad games. I think this sounds about right for him this year. Bills end up 8-8 and Fitz has crazy T.D #'s and crazy Int #'S.
-
The Spiller fumble before the half was the biggest play. Why Chan has him in there and not Choice is beyond me. The interior of our oline is on eof the strengths of the team. Pound it up the middle once. Or fake that and throw to Chandler over the top. But do not run the guy with a bum shoulder into a mass of 300lb guys on the goal line. That was just idiotic on Chans part. I get what the OP is saying. And agree to some extent. i think the coaches and players do what the OP did. Break the game down figure out where it went wrong. If the Bills are up 28-7 then it is a different game all together. Maybe Wanny gets more aggressive. Blitzes some, gets out of his crappy nickel. Who knows really. I see both sides of it. The D not able to stop the Pats for 6 consecutive scores is crazy. I also wonder what was the Pats average yard per play in the second half?? It had to be 9-10yds?

Everyone needs to settle a bit
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand what the OP was trying to get at. Sunday and Monday i was just pissed at the game and way the Bills played. Today i started to think about some of the positives. Gilmore had some nice pass defended- he will only get better. Fitz to jackson for the long gainer was a nice wrinkle. I could say more but i am sure each thing i point out will be countered by a negative opposite play. Trust me i think this team has completely under achieved pre-season expectations. And i am not sure if Chan and Wanny can right the ship, but i am still going to watch. IF they can win one of the next two and be 3-3 after the first 6 then they got a shot. I remember in the preseason many of us thought this way. So, here the Bills are at 2-2, with a shot at 3-3. -

Did Brady call the Bills "F'n Bit@hes"?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Silvercrw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could see it on his face at times during the game BEFORE they blew the Bills away. He could not believe they were losing to the Bills. It looked to me like he was begining to realize his time is coming to an end. Then of course the Bills said no wait, you can still kick the crap out of us!! Here we wont cover anyone or put any defenders in the middle of the field. Just run guys on post patterns and you can score at will Tom!! Tom and Bill wanted that game bad. Bill even brought out his 'good luck Hoodie' for the game. -
Bills Patriots Injury Report *Mankins OUT!!!*
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Rockinon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mankins is a vet, practice to him is annoying. He knows the offense inside and out. For an Oline man like Mankins the best thing to do is let him rest. I think he will be just fine health wise. But i look forward to Williams and Dareus matching up against interior Oline of the Pats. -
One could arguee that the Pats have been good for so long with the same guys on offense. Now they are missing some of those pieces and also others are getting older. The Oline in particular looks shaky at best. And the book has been out on Brady now for more then a few years. The Bills can and will be able to get pressure on him from up the middle with Williams and Dareus. This will casue Brady to get antsy and lose focus. I do not think the Pats will be able to run on the Bills. In turn The Bills Oline will need to force the run. It may not amount to much at first. But the more our Oline pushes and beats on Wilfork, by the second half the 3 yard runs will turn into 6-8 yds. The Bills just need to keep the game close going into the fourth. At that point they take the game over. 28-24 Bills win. I have been hoping for years it is the begining of the end for the Patriot Dynasty. It has been 12 years since they have started this run. 12 years!! That is longer then any other dynasty in football. Think about it!! Steelers of the 70's. 49ers of 80s. Dallas of the 90s. Seriously it is time the entire league stands up to the Pats and realizes they put their pants on one leg at a time. This attitude is why the Ravens and Giants beat them. Ok, they also have great deffenses. But this is the game the Bills D can put its name on the list!!!

#BillsMafia getting some press....
atlbillsfan1975 replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schefter was the one who gave them the name. He asked 'what are you guys the Bills Mafia or somthing' in one of his responses. That is how it originated. Just to be clear. -
#BillsMafia getting some press....
atlbillsfan1975 replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you knew Del, the person who helped start it, i think most of you would change your toon. he is a diehard Bills fan, a great husband and father, and really a great guy. many people here laugh at 'National Media' guys when they put down Buffalo or the Bills. Del just stood up to one of those National Guys and defended his team. Sorry guys but you are wrong to be negative towards Del and the Bills Mafia. They also donate money to charitable groups. So really what is not to like? Because you do not understand Twitter? I do not either, but congrats to one of Buffalo's own getting some press. Yes i am a little biased, Del is married to my cousin. I have always found Del to be passionate about his Team and Town only behind his Faith and Family. -
I get what you are saying about them and losing. But at some point maybe the Pats do lose a step or two or three. I mean they have been a dominating team for 12 years. How much longer can that go on? So my point is we may be watching the begining of the end of a great dynasty in the NFL. Like you i would not be surprised one way or the other on this one. I think the Bills can win. i feel like the win lat year should help Buffalo get over the belief they can not win against NE. I will have my popcorn ready for this one. I think is going to be a real fight all day. Brady and the offense will realize early they can not run on our front 4. They will take to passing. This is where the game will be won or lost, can the Bills get pressure up the middle and make Brady uncomfortable.
-
Business is business. Chan knows it is all about winning this year. He and the rest of the coaches must feel like Moorman is done or they have something better. It sends a clear message to the rest of the guys too - if you do not perform, you will not be here. Sucks but when you are making that much money, there is not too much room for keeping someone because they are 'a great guy'.

Running backs available?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to atlbillsfan1975's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Running back is one of the few positions you can learn the playbook pretty quick at. I understand bringing a guy in off the street is not perfect, but if Choice goes down then White gets the majority of carries? Does anyone feel comfortable with that idea? Or Brad Smith? I like Choice, but if he gets hurt, and you can believe the Pats of all teams will do whatever they can to ensure that, then the Bills are screwed. Just a thought, more like carrying three running backs, since thats what Chan was doing anyways. Also giving Freddie another week to heal up. I want to win this game more then the 49ers or Cards game. How great would it be to put the Pats down 1-3 meanwhile the Bills sit at 3-1? -
If only Choice and White are healthy enough to go on Sunday, are there any quality FA running backs sitting at home? Can you bring one in for a few games? Not even sure how the rules work for this, i know in the NBA you can sign guys to 15 day contracts, and renew it once before having to sign them for the rest of the season. Does NFL offer anything like this?

When Fitz drops back to pass and we start to watch the pocket collapse, do you hold your breath? The point is Fitz scares the hell out of me too. He could throw a dart and hit a guy barely open, or throw it 5 feet over a guys head right into the arms of a safety. I think the Bills are one player away from being a darn good team, maybe even a Super Bowl team. It just so happens that player is the most important one. I like Fitz as a guy and even as a football player. It is not his fault the Bills are trying to make him a starting qb. He is trying like heck to be that. The guy has character and wants to succeed, but sometimes that i snot enough. Especially in professional sports. He would be an exceptional back up, probably the next Frank Reich. Unfortunatly this team has no 'Jim Kelly'. Until we get our next Jim Kelly, we are going to see th esame thing. I also think we have enough of a sample size to form opinions on Fitz at this point. My hope is the oline stays healthy and as dominating as they have been. The Bills can run the ball and Fitz can make some timely throws when needed. He also learns that throwing it out of bounds or away is not a bad thing. The D gels more and more and becomes great. At this point in the season we have no clue yet who the great teams are. Not after this last weekend. 49ers get beat and beat good by the Vikes. Seriously?? So who knows really. But if any of us are waiting for Fitz to magically turn into the next Eli Manning, i think we are going to be very disappointed.

I am torn. I see both sides to the arguement. If the medical staff thinks he is good and Freddie feels good then let him play. Some injuries will not totally heal unless surgery is done. Not sure this is the case for Freddies injury. If he can not do anymore damage and can endure the pain then let him play. The other thing that worries me is N.E. is a dirty team to me. We, as Bills fans, have seen first hand how they will intentionally try to injury players. I watched the game last night and saw Mankins spear a defender in the back on N.E touchdown play. It was dirty and uncalled for. I worry that Wilfork or another defender for N.E. will try and see just how healed Freddie is. Their head coach thinks he can do whatever he wants(putting his hands on the ref) so why should the players be held to a higher moral standard?
-
There is a big differnece between catching a kick and running thru on coming players, basically a skill you learn as a child. And learning routes and calls and being able to get open when covered. Now if you are saying, line him up every once in a while at wideout and use him for reverses/ fake reverse throw down field. Then that may be an option.
-
I hear ya. But you also got to think 'they lost two in a row'. I am glad the game is at home. Bills have confidence they can beat NE at home. No Choice and White are not the 'game breakers' that CJ or FJ are. This concerns me. NE looks stout up the middle. Having a back with speed to get around the edge would be nice. It will be a tough game, if the BIlls protect the ball and steal a couple from the Pats, then i like the chances for a victory.

Ray Lewis - A Football Life
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read the book by John Feinstein 'Next Man Up'. It "literally" (sorry could not help myself) followed the Ravens around for the enitre 2004 season. It is a great read for football fans. The book starts with the draft and ends with the last game for the Ravens. Ray Lewis plays a big part in the book, and so does his trial. Ray was in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong people when the stabbing occured. I live in Atlanta and spent many nights out in Buckhead, where the incident happened. I was 24 at the time, and in my prime going out on the town days. That incident lead to the begining of the end of the Buckhead nightlife. It was already getting bad, but that was the final nail in the coffin. Ray was cleared of murder charges. And he also gave testimony to put away the real criminals. It was aplea agreement, he received an Obstruction Of Justice charge by the Fulton County Courts. If you do not like Ray Lewis i have to ask, 'Do you only like the Buffalo Bills, or football in general?' To me Ray Lewis is everything football is about. If The Bills had him on their team, i think we too would have ended our Super Bowl drought. The guy makes everyone around him better. -
Atlanta has alot of questions at tackle. Baker had been a big dissapointment up to this season. he has been injured and when he has been able to play he has not been very good. Claybough had a horrible year last year after signing his big deal. So i am not so sure i would take Atl's over Buffalo's right now.

This is what we have done to local KC radio guys
atlbillsfan1975 replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to admit i have echoed many of their sentiments over the past 12 long years. i work 6-7 days a week 70+ hours. I always start out scheduling myself to have time off to watch the Bills. I usually say, screw it, i am going to do something else with my free time then put myself through this crap. I get his frustration. If you are a Chiefs player you should realize how much this guy, and many like him, love the team you play on. You should take some pride in it. You should also realize you make millions of dollars to play a game. And it will be gone sooner then you think. Play each game like it is your last, or it just might be.
