  1. If you knew Del, the person who helped start it, i think most of you would change your toon. he is a diehard Bills fan, a great husband and father, and really a great guy. many people here laugh at 'National Media' guys when they put down Buffalo or the Bills. Del just stood up to one of those National Guys and defended his team. Sorry guys but you are wrong to be negative towards Del and the Bills Mafia. They also donate money to charitable groups. So really what is not to like? Because you do not understand Twitter? I do not either, but congrats to one of Buffalo's own getting some press. Yes i am a little biased, Del is married to my cousin. I have always found Del to be passionate about his Team and Town only behind his Faith and Family.
  2. i like the 38-31. Isn't that what Fitz lost to the Pats in his first start against them in Foxboro? When the Bills where in it right till he threw a pick late?
  3. I get what you are saying about them and losing. But at some point maybe the Pats do lose a step or two or three. I mean they have been a dominating team for 12 years. How much longer can that go on? So my point is we may be watching the begining of the end of a great dynasty in the NFL. Like you i would not be surprised one way or the other on this one. I think the Bills can win. i feel like the win lat year should help Buffalo get over the belief they can not win against NE. I will have my popcorn ready for this one. I think is going to be a real fight all day. Brady and the offense will realize early they can not run on our front 4. They will take to passing. This is where the game will be won or lost, can the Bills get pressure up the middle and make Brady uncomfortable.
  4. Business is business. Chan knows it is all about winning this year. He and the rest of the coaches must feel like Moorman is done or they have something better. It sends a clear message to the rest of the guys too - if you do not perform, you will not be here. Sucks but when you are making that much money, there is not too much room for keeping someone because they are 'a great guy'.
  5. Running back is one of the few positions you can learn the playbook pretty quick at. I understand bringing a guy in off the street is not perfect, but if Choice goes down then White gets the majority of carries? Does anyone feel comfortable with that idea? Or Brad Smith? I like Choice, but if he gets hurt, and you can believe the Pats of all teams will do whatever they can to ensure that, then the Bills are screwed. Just a thought, more like carrying three running backs, since thats what Chan was doing anyways. Also giving Freddie another week to heal up. I want to win this game more then the 49ers or Cards game. How great would it be to put the Pats down 1-3 meanwhile the Bills sit at 3-1?
  6. If only Choice and White are healthy enough to go on Sunday, are there any quality FA running backs sitting at home? Can you bring one in for a few games? Not even sure how the rules work for this, i know in the NBA you can sign guys to 15 day contracts, and renew it once before having to sign them for the rest of the season. Does NFL offer anything like this?
  7. When Fitz drops back to pass and we start to watch the pocket collapse, do you hold your breath? The point is Fitz scares the hell out of me too. He could throw a dart and hit a guy barely open, or throw it 5 feet over a guys head right into the arms of a safety. I think the Bills are one player away from being a darn good team, maybe even a Super Bowl team. It just so happens that player is the most important one. I like Fitz as a guy and even as a football player. It is not his fault the Bills are trying to make him a starting qb. He is trying like heck to be that. The guy has character and wants to succeed, but sometimes that i snot enough. Especially in professional sports. He would be an exceptional back up, probably the next Frank Reich. Unfortunatly this team has no 'Jim Kelly'. Until we get our next Jim Kelly, we are going to see th esame thing. I also think we have enough of a sample size to form opinions on Fitz at this point. My hope is the oline stays healthy and as dominating as they have been. The Bills can run the ball and Fitz can make some timely throws when needed. He also learns that throwing it out of bounds or away is not a bad thing. The D gels more and more and becomes great. At this point in the season we have no clue yet who the great teams are. Not after this last weekend. 49ers get beat and beat good by the Vikes. Seriously?? So who knows really. But if any of us are waiting for Fitz to magically turn into the next Eli Manning, i think we are going to be very disappointed.
  8. I am torn. I see both sides to the arguement. If the medical staff thinks he is good and Freddie feels good then let him play. Some injuries will not totally heal unless surgery is done. Not sure this is the case for Freddies injury. If he can not do anymore damage and can endure the pain then let him play. The other thing that worries me is N.E. is a dirty team to me. We, as Bills fans, have seen first hand how they will intentionally try to injury players. I watched the game last night and saw Mankins spear a defender in the back on N.E touchdown play. It was dirty and uncalled for. I worry that Wilfork or another defender for N.E. will try and see just how healed Freddie is. Their head coach thinks he can do whatever he wants(putting his hands on the ref) so why should the players be held to a higher moral standard?
  9. There is a big differnece between catching a kick and running thru on coming players, basically a skill you learn as a child. And learning routes and calls and being able to get open when covered. Now if you are saying, line him up every once in a while at wideout and use him for reverses/ fake reverse throw down field. Then that may be an option.
  10. I hear ya. But you also got to think 'they lost two in a row'. I am glad the game is at home. Bills have confidence they can beat NE at home. No Choice and White are not the 'game breakers' that CJ or FJ are. This concerns me. NE looks stout up the middle. Having a back with speed to get around the edge would be nice. It will be a tough game, if the BIlls protect the ball and steal a couple from the Pats, then i like the chances for a victory.
  11. I read the book by John Feinstein 'Next Man Up'. It "literally" (sorry could not help myself) followed the Ravens around for the enitre 2004 season. It is a great read for football fans. The book starts with the draft and ends with the last game for the Ravens. Ray Lewis plays a big part in the book, and so does his trial. Ray was in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong people when the stabbing occured. I live in Atlanta and spent many nights out in Buckhead, where the incident happened. I was 24 at the time, and in my prime going out on the town days. That incident lead to the begining of the end of the Buckhead nightlife. It was already getting bad, but that was the final nail in the coffin. Ray was cleared of murder charges. And he also gave testimony to put away the real criminals. It was aplea agreement, he received an Obstruction Of Justice charge by the Fulton County Courts. If you do not like Ray Lewis i have to ask, 'Do you only like the Buffalo Bills, or football in general?' To me Ray Lewis is everything football is about. If The Bills had him on their team, i think we too would have ended our Super Bowl drought. The guy makes everyone around him better.
  12. Atlanta has alot of questions at tackle. Baker had been a big dissapointment up to this season. he has been injured and when he has been able to play he has not been very good. Claybough had a horrible year last year after signing his big deal. So i am not so sure i would take Atl's over Buffalo's right now.
  13. I have to admit i have echoed many of their sentiments over the past 12 long years. i work 6-7 days a week 70+ hours. I always start out scheduling myself to have time off to watch the Bills. I usually say, screw it, i am going to do something else with my free time then put myself through this crap. I get his frustration. If you are a Chiefs player you should realize how much this guy, and many like him, love the team you play on. You should take some pride in it. You should also realize you make millions of dollars to play a game. And it will be gone sooner then you think. Play each game like it is your last, or it just might be.
  14. Personally- I think your looking at 20 'touches' for Spiller and then about 18 'touches' for Freddie. I say touches because i think both CJ and Freddie are goin gto get opportunities running and catching out of Chans different formations. The author does a great job pointing out how Chan uses the pistol and then runs out of it deep in the redzone. This then later set up the TD to Chandler. Point is D.C. pay a lot of attention to personel that is on the field in a huddle when subbing in guys. If you can run multiple formations with the same personel, DC are at a huge disadvantage. I think the staff and Chan need to limit Fitz to 20-22 passes.
  15. Agreed on not rushing Freddie back. Spiller is proving that when he is 'the guy' he excels. And Choice is a very competent back up for now. He isnt a dynamic running back, but he can spell Spiller here and there. Let Freddie heal up and then he can come back and help Spillers legs rest more mid-second half of the season. The only thing i am looking to see is how Spiller does over a 16 week season getting the majority of the carries.
  16. For some reason the Bills and 49ers always play each other tough it seems. i hope this stays consistent this year. I think this 49ers team is the real deal. Great D, good running game. And Smith seems to really be taking a huge step forward. He has some very good options in th epassing attack. The Cleveland game is big. I remember last year saying Buffalo needs to prove it canwin on the road. I said this after the NY Giants defeat. To make the playoff the Bills need to win every home game and take atleast 2 road games. For every home game you lose that road number goes up. Here is hoping they go get the first road victory this week and put Cleveland to 0-3 on the year!
  17. Glenn was amazing. The screen play where he got out front of Spiller and just mauled anyone in his way was great. Glenn should excel at pulling and out in open space, given all his time in college at gaurd. I have always been a big fan of his. Great game by the big man. I still think Woods is the heart and soul dof this Oline. IF he can stay healthy and this line plays together all year then the Bills are on to something for the future. But yes, Fitz still scares the crap out of me. He got 90+ yds on one drive from two great runs after the catch. Besides the Chandler TD pass nothing he did yesterday was above average. Hopefully Chan realizes the best way for this team to be good is run CJ and Jackson when he comes back 40 times a game and pass only 20. Fitz CAN NOT be asked to take a game over with his arm. This game showed what the Bills have, a dynamic young running back and an Oline that can crush people.
  18. Look at his years in Denver with Shanny as his coach and a good o line, good running game and good receivers. Kid was good. And in his 6 full seasons he had five of them with a qb rating of 86% or higher. he does throw too many INT's. If you had one game to win who would you honestly want at QB? Cutler or Fitz? All things equal.
  19. HoJo is a great guy, that bleeds for this team. I met HoJo when i was 4 years old and he has remained a family friend for years. As i have mentioned before my grandfather worked for the Bills in the 70's and 80's up until his death. my grandfather and HoJo became friends and HoJo was always at family events while my grandfather was alive. I last saw him when Buffalo played in Atlanta a few years back. HoJo brought the entire equipment staff into my restaurant. HoJo loves the Bills as much or more then any of us. he has worked 90 hour weeks for years and not because the pay is amazing. I just got off the phone with my unlce who spoke with HoJo earlier today. There is more to the story. HoJo is a great guy and has always represented the team and city of Buffalo with pride and class. He was one of the 'good guys' in the orginization. Sad to see him go.
  20. Cutler can not win. He was accused a few seasons ago of 'not caring' when the Bears lost in the playoffs. Last night i saw a guy who is pissed he has an Oline which stunk up the places. Greenbay is good, but he had olineman getting killed one on one. I do not feel bad for him, but if you gave him a good o line i think he would look pretty darn good. And to even compare him to Fitz is crazy. You can keep all the stats you want, but Cutler is a good QB. he just has a knack for pissing people off, kind of like Rivers in SD. Once you realize the guys just want to win then you get over their antics. Peyton Manning is another guy that was notorious for throwing his teammates under the bus early on in his career.
  21. If we know about it so does the league. I am sure that a memo or at least KC is being told that any type of unnecessary roughness against S.J. will be delt with quickly(during the game) and harshly after(fines/suspensions). The last thing the league needs or wants is a player getting hurt deliberately. I do not see him taking a cheap shot. If he gets hurt, it will suck. But to me, how Stevie has the same injury he had a year ago is confusing. Did he not have surgery to correct it? Or does it take so lon gto recover from? I know the groin is a sensetive area, but come on.
  22. You always seem very intelligent and a more middle of the road guy. But Cromartie basically came out and said that Rex and the Jets coaches put them in position to make plays. That through film study and GOOD coaching they knew how to play the Bills receivers. Now i am not suggesting that the offense is basic. But it does seem to rely heavily on short passes and ones that tend to favor from the hashes on out. This is kind of interesting because Fitz SUPPOSEDLY lacks great arm strength/mechanics. Maybe T Jackson will get a shot. If there are a few more games from Fitz like the last, then at the bye maybe a switch is made. Jackson is very mobile and has a stronger arm then Fitz, right?
  23. Tamba Hali also get to come back from his on egame suspension. The Falcons looked amazing against KC. They moved the ball at will threw the air...Chan will probably watch this tape an dthink Fitz can do the same. Unfortunatly Fitz is not Ryan and the Bills have no one near as good as Roddy White or Julio Jones catching balls. Heck the falcons third best receiver, Harry Douglas is as good as the Bills best. If Chan even tries to copy ATL game plan KC will kill the Bills. KC is also looking to revenge their emberassing home opening lose of a year ago at the hands of the Bills. Do not be surprised if the Bills are not down early again. Fitz will come out over hyped and look like a mental midget again. Making throws that make no sense what so ever. I can only hope you guys can cheer them on and amp up the D!! Chan needs to go to ground and pound and play D. It will go against everything his stands for as an O minded coach. If Chan does not ride w CJ we are in for another long Sunday afternoon!!!
  24. I only mentioned it because the guy makes the same mistakes over and over again. It is not because he can not learn, it is because he can't handle the pressure of the game. I am not saying your wrong, but Fitz stil had to make the throws. The point is not until everyone thought they had lost and thus there was no expectations did Fitz feel comfortable. I would not be surprised if he goes out there this week and has a great game, since now everyone thinks he sucks!! The guys living in denial will claim he 'showed some fortitude' coming back and stepping up. I say he is a back up that only does well when you do not have to count on him.
  25. Maybe Chan and Nix did realize what Fitz is. Thus why they tried to bring in Vince Young and Now T. Jackson. Fitz is a back up. He is a guy when there is very little expectations he will succeed. The minute expectations increase his production decreases. Seriously. Look at last year. Even inside of a game. Look at the Raiders, and the NE game. Once the team got behind and everyone thought they were going to loose, Fitz came on. Even yesterday, once the Bills were down did he finally start to do something. We all tried to kid ourselves and look at the positives, like 'his resolve in adversity'. B.S. Fitzpatrick Can Not Handle The Pressure!!! His talent is what it is. Great? Nope. Horrible? Nope. And the guy went to Harvard...he is not stupid. He just does not have the mental fortitude to step up when everyone is counting on him. Expectations were high going into this year. National media, all of us fans, everyone wants a playoff birth. The F.O. made moves trying to get the team there. Fitz knows it rests on him, and he can not mentally handle it. Sorry Guys. I tried and hoped he was the answer, but he is not. The first pick was horrible, back foot, across the field, and at Revis. Seriously? You guys that like Fitz need to look up the definition of insanity. And even if the team is 9-6 and needs a win to make the playoffs, do you honestly trust Fitz will have a game to put the Bills into the playoffs??!!!
