Sorry. Adequate to win games against BAD teams? Yes. Adequate to win games against good to great teams? NO! Until the Bills get a good to great QB, we got what we got. A team that will be mediocre. It is a QB driven league. Unless the Bills address that position, they will be what we have seen. As your qb goes, so goes your team. Look at the Saints. They have a horrbile D, but a great QB. The reason why they will finish with a better record then Buffalo is because of Brees. Why not try and get one player and fix many problems. Then get many players to try and fix one problem. Winning is the problem. Give me a good qb with an average D any day over the opposite.

Loved what i saw out of Glenn last night. But Urbik looked great. To me he stole the show. Guys has great agility. I was really impressed with the entire oline. Hairston was a little shaky. And some of the line calls were crazy. Mayock did a good job of breaking down why Cam Wake got a couple free shots. Sorry but slanting the oline away from the opposing D's best end just seems nuts.

last nights game answered this question. Bills D gave up 7 points. Bills O scored 12 points. In my eyes that shows that instead of going out there and putting up 20, like they could or should have the O settles for 4 field goals. Fitz tried twice to throw INT on Miami's side of the 50. Sorry guys, a win is a win, but Fitz isn't the answer. He is not consistent

Lets look at the New England game as a blue print for what you are saying. In the second half Buffalo's D held Brady and NE to 13 points. Pretty respectable. Fitz and the Bills scorred 14 points. The problem was/is that Buffalo could not answer New Englands drives with touchdowns or even field goals a few times. It was almost as if the Bills where answering a NE drive with a similar type of drive. When the Bills held the Pats to a punt, there was the opportunity to go get a touchdown and take the lead or tie. Instead the Bills would punt too. Fitz is the best back up in the league. He just is not a starter. He does not have the 'it' factor. I like him but he is way to inconsistant. Ask yourself a question, when Fitz and the offense got the ball back where you 100% confident they could score a touchdown? We as Bills fans have not had that 100% confidence since Jim Kelly in the earl to mid 90's. Ask Pats, Greenbay, Denver, and even Saints or Falcons fans the same question. They will all tell you they believe they will win the game, and more times then not they do. they do because they know it is a passers league and they got very good to outstanding qb's. There is a guy or two coming out next year. Stats prove it. Every year over the last 15 years atleast 1 franchise QB has come out. Buddy and the FO job is to find that guy.

I got to agree with this. If you make your team better but play with an inferioir QB, you will keep winning just enough games to put you out of the running for a true good qb. Better to grab your QB when you really stink and have a top 3 pick then wait and try to get him later in round one or another lower round.

Really? I mean i have no idea how big or strong you are, but he is a professional athelete. He plays at 6'2 255#'s. Not saying you could not whip his butt, but he is going to leave a mark or two on you. And yes i think he is a thug piece of crap. Just like a lot of guys NE has had on D. Rodney Harrison was another cheap shot loud talker. He is the only thing about Sunday Night football i can not stand.

The team is not out of Playoff Hunt
atlbillsfan1975 replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every game is winnable from here on out, no doubt about it. The Bills have left themselves zero margin for error. I did like the fact that the D held the Pats to a fieldgoal yesterday on that last drive. It gave the team a chance to win. Teams in the past would have rolled over. If the Bills can play a 60 mins game, they could beat anyone in the league. i really do believe that. the talent is there. They all need to man up and do it. Starting with Fitz, they can not crack under the pressure -
Hey guys- I live in Atlanta and have 5 tickets for the Bills Game this Thursday night. I do not want them to go to waste and i can not make it up. In a perfect world i would like to send a family who can not afford to go to a game usually. Times are tough and i know someone out there could enjoy a fun night out. They are in SEC 336 Row 11 seat 6-10. Not sure how good/bad- but hey they are free!! ha I will even pay to overnight them to you. Send me a private message if you could use them.

Jones looked great yesterday. He played better then SJ. I really think the receiving core is shaping up. If Nelson had not gone down, they would be even deeper and better. Chandler is solid. Good hands, big target, and finds a way to get open. The Pats are definetly on the decline, no two ways around it. Brady and the boys know they do not have much time left. Fitz had great numbers, again. But he Fitzed us in the end. Sorry i am an optimist but also a realist. You need a guy who makes the right throw at that point. I know Graham ran the wrong route, i get it. But personally he had CJ wide open. CJ probably does not score but he gets the first. I never like giving Brady the ball back with any time, not to mention they had at least 2 time outs. I give the OP credit. And i also think you are right about next year and the next three games. Bills got to win the next three. Would make December more fun to watch!!

Bills Keepers & Sleepers
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Got 2 Billieve's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jones had a great day yesterday. He dropped the one ball on the drive late in the game, but other then that he was pretty money. Not sure he is a number 2 receiver but makes a good fourth guy, for not much money. Personally, yesterday, Jones looked more like SJ then SJ did. -
The Final Play in Foxborough
atlbillsfan1975 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He should have 100% dropped it off to CJ. Instead of going for it twice into the endzone Fitz makes the pass to CJ on second down. He gets the first by far. Then clock the ball IF CJ does not score. Heck i might even try a designed QB draw on one. If you do not score, clock it again, go for it on fourth. Sorry, but lets say the Bills scored with 25-30 seconds left and are up by one. You really want to give Brady the ball back with time outs? -
Buddy says he wants to draft a QB this year
atlbillsfan1975 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix likes the SEC and guys from the south. We all know that from his last two drafts. If Murray finishes strong and declares, i would bet he is the guy. The Bills could probably get him around where they will be picking in the first. Murray is very interesting player. great stats but has struggled at times in 'big games'. When i say finish strong i mean have a great game this Saturday against Auburn- who has a good D. Then play a great game against Bama's D in the Dome for the SEC championship. If Murray does those two things he will vault up to a first round pick. Combine does not matter for QB's, since they hardly ever throw. -
Lets see how the kids finish the season out. I do not think the combine matters one bit to QB's. As the games get more meanning full lets see how they respond to the pressure. Murray is the most interesting one. Plays in a pro style system, in the SEC. he goes up against great defenses game in and game out. So far he has had an average showing. Some great numbers put up, but has struggled in big games against SC and FLA. If the Dawgs make it to the Dome and IF he has a great game against Bama's D, then you have to take Murray. All that said he is still a JR and could come back one more year.

Assuming a loss to the Pats.....
atlbillsfan1975 replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly after the way the Bills got beat by N.E the first time and then layed down against the 49ers. That showed me all i needed to know about the energy on this team. I really believe there is a lot of talent here. I think some good candidates for HC will also think so. The Bills need a HC and QB and they are a playoff team. Gailey has to go and so does the entire staff. I know the Bills have hired average to bad HC the last 12 years, so i think we are due for a good hire!! -
Player changes at One Bills Drive
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ShipUPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would go. I mean come on guys. if you could get equal money going to a team that has a track record of winning what would you do? i want to believe what the one poster said about building the oline first, the drafting a qb. But one could also arguee you have to coach guys up. And if this is a known train of thought from Nix, then what does that say to the guys in the locker room? It makes the fo look in ept and incompetent. They just signed Fritz to be their guy almost exactly one year ago! If i was a player on the Bills enterring FA i would think real hard about jumping ship. Pitt is a classic example of a team that every year has oline problems, but finds ways to win even reach the super bowl -
Ralph is mad that the Bills are losing
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ralph would probably hire Polian. He is in the right age bracket for people Ralph likes to work with. I am not so sure Polian has the same 'pull' he use to have. I also wonder if Polian has the same understanding of players as he once did. Personally i would rather turn things over to Whaley. It is time. I wish Ralph would give him total control of the team much like Blank did in Atl to Dimitroff. Nix could stay on in a much reduced role, like Rich McKay did in Atl. Become president of football operations. The model is right there for Buffalo to follow and it was done 4 years ago here in Atl. -
New Member....here's the Fix needed in Buffalo IMO
atlbillsfan1975 replied to HeatsPix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Been saying this since week one when Fitz looked like Fitz, and The rookies came out looking pretty good. Look at any good NFL team and they have a good qb. Fitz is average/below average thus the Bills are too. And as far as the OP point about the 'temptation' to take away touches from CJ, that is called bad coaching. Chan should be able to figure it out. I was watching a show about Kentucky Basketball for a second last night. In it the head coach John Calipari was dealing with how to get two centers on the floor at the same time, because they are both great players. His qoute was "i do not want to tell one of them ' sorry i can't figure out how to get you both on the floor at the same time, so one of you has to sit" . Now that is the sign of a good coach. Chan has struggled for th epast two years trying to figure out how to use them both on the field at the same time. -
McGee & Pears to IR, Potter released
atlbillsfan1975 replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MCGee was a pro's pro. Good guy, tried hard and played hurt for many games the last few years. think it is time he says good bye to the game he loves. Pears being injured would explain his drop off of play. Think the team is really looking at Routt? -
I am starting to wonder if some of you guys work for Casino's or off shore gambling sites. Trying to come on here and sucker some people into bad bets!! Honestly i will be watching the game and cheering for the Bills. But just like the last game, by then fourth quarter i expect to be heading out to more productive things!

Ralph is mad that the Bills are losing
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love how you guys make fun of the South. I live in Atlanta, was born in Buffalo and raised in a very Italian/Northern atmospere. A. The south and in particular the SEC has the best talent in the country. If you arguee that you are just being silly. There is nothing wrong with drafting guys from the south, just got to pick the right ones! B. Nix and Gailey do work well together, but it seems Gailey does not work well with Wanny. C. Nix worked in San Diego for years, to call him a country bumpkin or anything else is also silly. I wonder what you were saying about him back in March? Ralph should be angry so should we all. I think a vast majority of us thought this year would be different due to talent upgrades. No not a Super Bowl year, but also not another 6-10 year. The problem is coaching. Talent is here, that is my only hope maybe we can get a good coach. He will demand the Bills make a trade to draft at least one of the top 2 qb's coming out. Then sign on the dotted line. Oh i can dream! -
We can only hope Buddy made a phone call. With McGee hurt and Williams now the Bills need a DB if nothing else. Brooks is a rookie and Rodgers has looked terrible this year. I know Routt has been torched this year, but he is an upgrade over Williams. Maybe a change of scenerary will do him good? Wait he will still have Wanny as his coach....nevermind.
-
Spiller is the real deal. I am sorry Bill i disagree with you here. He is the ONLY play maker the Bills have. By that i mean a guy that when he touches the ball he can take it to the house. As far as the Williams injury, i am right there with you Bill. I do not want him to be hurt, but it seems that is the only way they will stop playing him. I actually found myself thinking "well if you had turned your head and picked the ball of or at least deflecting it then you wouldn't have gotten hurt". Guy is a second round pick and in the NFL and he has no clue how to play DB...none. Gailey had absolutely no balls yesterday. You are 3-4 on the road go for it on that 4 and less then one inside the 10!!! Your team needed a spark, Gailey layed up. pathetic. Then right before half it was like watching Jauron manage the clock. With 9 seconds left you take a shot at the endzone and then try the field goal. Horrible coaching. None of the players have confidence in the coaches. That is my take. And the coaches have very little confidence in the players. This is a recipe for a very bad second half. But knowing the Bills they will eek out another 3-4 wins. Save Gaileys job for another year and put the Bills just out of the race for drafting one of the top Qb's.

Aaron Murray [your QB of the future]
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsInMaine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets see what Murray has today. Looks like he is going to be forced to win the game with his arm. This game and Auburn only two teams that stand in the way of getting back to the Dome. So far this looks like a typical Mark Richt/Mike Bobo called game. Flat after a big win.
