BB your love for QB from the midwest turned me off awhile ago. Now you are asking for Nassib in the fourth when his own coach was part of the draft? It seems like your trying to be the guy that if EJ does not pan out you can say 'i told you so'. When in fact you should be rooting hard for him. All 32 other teams passed on Nassib 3 times before he got picked. With out hesitation i can say EJ would not have been there after mid 2nd, at worse case. What does that say??? Patterson is a nice player. But i will take Woods and Rogers over him any day.

Early 53 Man Roster Project

Totally agree on Choice. Watched him at GT and never thought he was great, reliable yes, but not great. That was in college. in the pros his greatest attribute is his mouth or leadership abilities. However, when you are not very relevant on the field that quality is negated somewhat, i believe. -
Early 53 Man Roster Project

Marrone is a OL man and coached them along the way. I wonder if he thinks he can coach up some of the guys? I do not see him as the same type of personality as Chan. Oline is so much about technique. I see Marrone as being very hands on with the guys. I also wonder if they do not want to rock the boat to much by bringing in a vet? Continuity is very important on Oline. Guys have to have trust and faith in one another. Who knows they may sign Moore tomorrow, but for now from everything i have seen they have a plan and ar enot afraid to execute it. Starting with the cuts, a few FA pick ups so far, the draft, UDFA, and now the trade of Sheppard. It is hard to argue with the fact the Bill are making moves and trying to shake the 13+ playoff drought. -
Da'Rick Rogers - WR - UDFA

I also like the fact he has a guy on his team in Stevie to look too. Stevie was a 7th rounder who is quickly becoming a house hold name due to his play and the way he conducts himself. yes Stevie likes to have a bit too much fun during some games at times, but he is a good guy. IF Stevie can mentor Rogers on being a Pro then this very well could be the steal of the draft...since he was not even drafted! -
Kolb EJ Tuel. TJax gets cut/asks for his release. Corp cut. Kolb plays well behind the Bills line and with the running game he has in Buffalo. Bills make the playoffs Kolb is starter next season till he gets injuried. EJ comes in and takes the Bills to the SB. The Bills win the SB over the Pack! Ha

In a OL heavy draft why no OL?

Or these where safe picks or need picks Why do you assume the other teams know more then the Bills? -
Biggest Remaining Weakness (Post Draft)
atlbillsfan1975 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love to see B Moore signed now. As others pointed out, many teams grabbed OL and even two OG went in the first 15 picks (i believe). This should help the price to be right more. Whoever is playing QB needs a good OL in front of them. To me B Moore helps solidify the line and gives a younger guy time to develop. -
Buffalo Bills UDFA Signings

You are most likely right. My thought was that Marrone and Hackett gave Nix and Whaley info on ability and such. Then the Cuse players went on the Bills draft board. Another team felt different about the players(picked them higher then the Bills valued them), and thus they got picked. -
Praise for Bills' draft
atlbillsfan1975 replied to OldTimer1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Speedy guys who like to play the game, have football instincts and will want to show they belong. I like this draft a lot. The Meeks pick even got better once i realized he was brought in for a visit. Between the visit and the relationship the Dabo Sweeney and the Bills have, this could be a nice pick up. -
Stevie seems like a good guy. He likes to have fun in games, yes, he is a good person i believe. Stevie's experience as a 7th round pick who is now a real NFL star could be huge with some of these young WRs coming in. I hope Stevie and Rogers get along. I think Stevie could help Rogers out a lot as a mentor for what it takes to succeed in this league. Lets hope Rogers is up for the challenge. On paper he has as much if not more raw talent then Stevie had, lets hope Rogers has the work ethic and stays away from trouble like Stevie did.

Buffalo Bills UDFA Signings
atlbillsfan1975 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am sure Marrone and Hackett gave Nix and Whaley very good info on all Cuse players. If they are not on the Bills it is for a reason. -
I am very very happy with the Woods pick and Rogers signing. Woods should make the biggest immediate impact. He is the most polished WR the Bills took. He played against top notch competition, and is a good person. Rogers has the most talent. He went from maybe a first round pick before the 2012 college season started to a maybe 3rd rounder to an UDFA. I hope for his sake this served as the 'wake up call'. Everyone matures at a different rate. You hope for this young man he takes full advantage of this opportunity. Goodwin is a bit of mystery. You have to hope with coaching he will only increase his ability. I think the point Goodwin not being able to play in spring ball due to track is big. The Bills believe a focused Goodwin could turn into the big play speedster they have been missing. Having said all this, we do need to remember they are rookies. It is not the easiest position to come right in and play. Woods will most likely be a starter due to level of competition the Bills have at WR.

Rd 2, Pick #46: LB Kiko Alonso - Oregon
atlbillsfan1975 replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it is a highligh video but a few things i see- First he can cover, and he has very good hands. He also has great instincts for finding the ball. This is something that can not be coached. You either have it or do not. Very fast and physical guy, seems like exactly what you need now to be an NFL linebacker. The Bills needed a LB and love they got this kid. Appears he will be able to stay on the field for all 3downs. -
Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.

The new Janitor? -
This was my thought when i woke up. Due to the fact the Bills went ahead and got the guy the liked at QB they set themselves up for a perfect situation in the second round. I believe there will be a run on QB starting early in the second. The Bills could make a nice trade partner once again for a team. Pick up an extra third and grab two guys in the second you like. I think the next pick has to be a receiving option, be it a TE or WR. After that go interior OL or LB or CB depending on who is left. In theory if the Bills make the right picks you could get 3 starters from the first two rounds and then maybe you package your two thirds and jump back into the second to grab another. A lot of moving around but would be nice if the Bills can pull it off. I do agree taking your qb in the first round might turn out to be the first piece to the puzzle .

I would love the scenario with the Dansby signing. Give your rookie a TE and a WR. Heck when was the last time the Bills took a TE that high?

What are you doing for the draft tonight?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PaattMaann's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hosting a rehearsal dinner at one of my restaurants for my buddy. I will constantly be going into the office to 'check on things'. Luckily we are a Buffalo Restaurant so i will have wings, pizza, wecks, and plenty of Canadian Beer! Once the draft ends, turn my attention towards the bridesmaids! Ha -
Per Ian Rapoport: Bills like Barkley in 2nd round
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just imagine what is going on inside of the inner circle for each team. I remember hearing Polian say years ago that there was no debate Indy was going to take Manning. Then i met a guy that was in the room leading up to and on draft day. This person told me that the room was split between Leaf and Manning. Polian was listening to both sides and debating himself... -
I think you and SJF are both correct. Ponder has shown improvement. By no stretch of the imagination do i think Minny would say 'yep Ponder is going to be the next Brett Farve' . I do think Minny is now saying we need to give him some weapons and see if he can be our guy for the next 10 years. He will get this year and next to prove that. Russell Wilson going out and having the type of year he had did not help Ponder by any means. But then again you could say Wilson had a better team around him and the perfect coach for a rookie qb to excel with. In the end there are so many variable that go into any play excelling. And honestly if someone says well the took him to early and started him to quick so he could not handle the pressure and thus failed, do you honestly think someone with that mental makeup would have been a great qb? QB play is all about pressure. Give me a guy who loves getting picked in the first and wants the job and also will understand he will have some great games and some bad games to start his career. This guy will learn from his mistakes and make himself better. Going from 31 to 21 shows Ponder is improving. Now if he jumps up in the top 13 this year, then Minny knows that are on to something.

Bills already making calls to TRADE DOWN
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not think that is accurate. You have teams like Atlanta, San Fran, and Minnie who want to jump up to grab an 'impact guy' because they feel they are closer to being a complete team then say the Bills or Browns. I know Atlanta really wants a difference maker type of guy on D. They need a true number one corner and a pass rusher. I would not be the least bit surprised if Dimitrof moves up Minnie needs to replace Harvin and give Ponder something to throw too. They have two number ones and as many have mentioned they look like the best possible trade partner for the Bills. You will see a few trades i think of teams in the 20's moving up into the top 15. It will get more interesting the last 5 picks of the first. If there are a couple qbs still on the board by pick 22 or so watch teams phones light up. Teams will want to jump back in and grab one of the qbs. -

Good question. He has not signed the offer yet, so i would guess not? Unless that figure takes into consideration the Tag number since it would most likely be worst case scenario? -
Equipment Manager fired after 35 years?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess it finally came out. I did not want to say anything because i had a feeling that his firing was not going to be done. And Hojo was no dumbie. He was a great equipment manager for years.
