  1. It is a contract year for Byrd. how does it benefit him to miss games for injury. Players are like horses. if one has a bad leg it means his stock just went way down. Now he may miss a few games to heal. But if it is an on and off thing all year, teams will use it as a reason to not pay him high dollar. Byrd and Parker know this. Byrd will have to come in and play at a high level for at least 2/3 of the season in order to get his big pay day.
  2. Anyone picking anything for this team is just guessing. You have barely anything to base any prediction on. New QB(rookie). New coaching staff. New GM. New players in key places MLB, QB, WR. Who really knows. Things have worked out in the past and not worked out in the past when this much turn over has occured. You could make more accurate predictions on teams like Jets, Phins, and Pats. they kept most of their core coaches and players there. So i guess guys picking the Bills to finish ahead of the Phins or Jets are really saying- they think those two franchises took a step backwards so much the unknown in the Bills looks better?
  3. I got a buddy who is a big FSU fan. I watched the first half of last nights game. He told me he is taking special interest in the Bills/EJ this year. His belief is that Jimbo Fisher does way too much as OC and HC. My buddy even said he watched EJ first two preseason appearences and was amazed at how good EJ looked. As far as how Winston looked against Pitt come on it is Pitt. They have not been a good team since Fitzgerald was catching passes there.
  4. I hope Rogers gets his act together for himself and catches plenty of balls for some NFL team for years to come. The alternative is not a good thing.
  5. Elite? no. But he could have tested the waters and seen what he would have been paid. I remember thinking his contract was more then reasonable. The point is he did not even let it get there. Nor did Wood. That is a sign of guys wanting to be Bills. Me, i would always enter FA once the final season was over on my contract like the case for Stevie. Once there is no 'security' reason ie injury in final year of contract. Why would you not see how much someone would pay for your services?
  6. I got to believe the Falcons are all over this one? They lost their starting RT already for the season.
  7. Guess we will never know, both guys signed before testing FA. That points to guys that want to be in Buffalo. I get it is a business and i am the first one to say these guys should seek the best contract possible. Byrd has his opinion of himself the Bills have theirs. And for one to maybe two years the Bills opinion rules when it comes to Byrd.
  8. Ditto. Guys like Wood and Stevie are proud to play for Buffalo. You can not discount the effect this has. This is a nice counter message to Byrd. Even Levitre did not seem to embrace being a Bill all the way through. Wood ever since the draft has been a big time mouth piece for how great the town and franchise is. Perfect fit for both the Bills and Wood.
  9. Good job. I am guessing his injury history made him a fair signing. With out the injuries i think Wood might be the best center in the league. Like to see how it is structured. For now though just happy he is here to stay.
  10. I got to believe the Bills are eyeing Seattles cuts at CB. heck anywhere on D really. Seattle is very stacked. or San Fran for that matter.
  11. Someone else said this in another thread and they where corrected by th efact that Mario's production increased the last 7 games. Does the D feed of the O and vice versa? Yes. But guys are professionals. they know you are always playing for your next check.
  12. What are the Labor Laws in NYS?! Ralph is probably paying them in funnel cakes!
  13. You are 100% right. His film from Tenn, on a pretty bad Tenn team, would lend him to get a few more tries. He will be on a PS somewhere. He needs to get his head right. Kid has talent. Size, speed, and athleticism. Those you can not coach. you also can not coach maturity. Guys either grow up and produce, or end up saying 'what might have been' at some point in their life.
  14. You guys think Belichick is calling Marrone and asking him ' do you consider Saturdays walk thru a practice?'?
  15. I agree about his talent. I watched him play a couple years back when he was with Tenn. I am a big UGA fan. And i thought maybe you where getting at the drug thing...shame if true. Piss away a life playing a game and making enough money to live comfortably forever for weed. If so it is really sad.Ii hope not and he just got overwhelmed and needs more time to adjust.
  16. Why do you think that? Maybe he is very immature and he is not ready for how tough it is? Sad really, because he has the talent. I work with many 18-23 y/o guys and i try to give them advice. Some take it, but many do not. Rogers had all of us hoping he was another piece to our puzzle. Unfortunately it does not appear so. He will be in the NFL some where this season on a PS i am sure. Mabe in a year or two his maturity mentally will catch up with his maturity physically.
  17. You are correct. I had heard EJ had some durability issues in college. i went and checked it out. And he only missed one game. Tried to read through every post and did not see this thought- Is Marrone trying to Belichick, Belichick? I mean Brady is always on the injury report. Could it be that Marrone is already trying to start a rivalry back up with BB and the Patsies? I got to believe that EJ starts week one no matter what. I mean unless the knee swells back up while doing non contact drills.
  18. Haha, If you watch the show Newsroom on HBO this sounds like an episode recently which aired. The media these days is in such a hurry to report things they do not always worry about accuracy or sources integrity.
  19. No clue honestly. I know this entire team looked better with EJ. So my prediction is- IF EJ plays the Bills win more games then they lose this year. Best i can say at this point.
  20. Have you checked how a lot of those teams you have Buffalo losing to did in their third preseason game? .
  21. HAHA. Yep. Guys like that crack me up. Same guys who wish an officer was around when someone is intruding in their house or attacking them...
  22. winning cures everything. I believe if the Bills put a good team out and Byrd helps them become winners, both parties will find an even ground next offseason. Until then who cares about trade, he is not getting traded now.
  23. Haha! Gotta go with Steve Largent man. For our age he was the Seahawk of the 80's. And get Ickey Woods for the Bengals! or Munoz! I always remember the Bucs and Saints when i think 'Will the Bills ever win a SB?'. AFC Teams for me- Bengals Pats Broncos Texans Then to me you pick'em between- Bills, Chiefs, Indy, Browns, Pitt, and Miami. I really do believe the Bills will have a legit shot this year, IF the Bills can stay away from catastrophic injuries to key guys. There is no unbeatable team right now to me in the AFC. Even in the NFC there is no crazy good team, today. NFC has better QB's overall. So they get the nod for better confrence. I think we may see the Saints back in the SB this year. I have a funny feeling they are going to be ready to prove something. AFC i guess i go with Pats for SB. I would love to see Marvin Lewis get one, he seems like a very likabe guy. It may happen. Pats look old and decimated by injuries and departures- Welker, Hernandez.
  24. Not saying it will not happen but that sounds horrible! I kid. But if you are 30+ or older are you picturing the wretch franchises we grew up watching???
  25. I just do not see Baltimore being anything this year. Lost the heart and soul of that team in Reed and Lewis. Flacco, so far looks like Flacco of th eregular season last year. Lost maybe his best WR and his best TE. Pass.
