Marrone's locker room post-game speech.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Loved how all the guys where listening and focused on Marrone. Closest guy to him is his QB. K. Williams is a leader and has respect. Does any of this amount to a playoff birth? Maybe... -
Who gets your game ball?

IF this is Mario playing with P.F. where is Byrd at?? Thank you Mario! You and the entire D played great today. -
Hey, How about Mario's performance? Still want Skelton? HAHAHA
-
I got to agree. Chandler looks slower then ever and his hands look worse then his feet.

Manziel should stay in college as long as possible. He may or may not be a good pro. But one thing i can guarantee is that at his size with his style, he will not last more then a few years. Manziel is not a Russell Wilson or a Drew Brees, two of the shorter QB's to have success in the NFL. Also temper your view of Manziel that Bama D and in particular the secondary was no where near what it has been the past few years. Great game and awesome to watch. To me the games yesterday between Bama and A&M is why College football is great. Tell me the last pro game which had the same type of entertaining style as that game?

Pass rush pressure measure
atlbillsfan1975 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mario will get his. Make no mistake Mario commands the Oline and QB attention. The minute a team sleeps on Mario and treats him with disrespect of trying to put a TE blocking him or leaving him alone with a tackle an entire game, Mario will make them pay. Brady was under a lot of pressure multiple times last week. Today the Bills need not try to flush Cam out of the pocket but instead play contain and keep him in it. Make Cam beat you with his arm and reading of the D. If he does, fine. The Bills need to approach todays game with a 'gap control' strategy. Keeping the running games and Cam's scrambling under control and prevent the big plays. -
Love to see a little play action to start the game. Fake to Spiller and let EJ air one out.

until we win some of the close games we will always be a bad team.

So does Byrd play on sunday or not?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Leonard looked pretty solid last week. A healthy motivated Byrd would have looked better. Problem is Byrd is not healthy or appears not motivated to help the Bills' cause right now. Leonard will hold the fort down but eventually his body will begin to break down some. I doubt Leonard will be able to sustain his level of player over 16 weeks. I hoep Byrd can be back in a few weeks and thus contribute. -
AFC East....wide open!!

If they do then Buffalo does. I am not so sure these receivers for Brady just automatically become the next Randy Moss, or Branch. Tom Brady has very very little patience. We all saw that last night. The Pats went from being a great team to a good team. To me know if you play a great game against the Pats, you can beat them. In years past you could play a great game and they could play a good game and they would beat most teams. Not so now. Gronk and Danny A. will help some, but i am not so sure they will fix everything. Couple that with the fact that both those guys are very injury prone, their is no guarantee how long they stay once back. The Jets looked decent. Tough front 7, but a secondary that got beat deep multiple times. pats just ran wrong routes or could not hold on to the ball. Geno needs to temper his disappointment when receivers drop passes. he is a rookie who will also make mistakes- and did. Long term his antics will hurt the team continuity. The Dolphins i honestly am clueless about right now. besides the fact they beat the Browns and Mike Wallace was unhappy, i know nothing about them. I was not and still am not a big Tannihill fan. Yes, i believe the Bills have a shot at the division, it is only week two. IF Marrone and the Cords can keep getting the players to improve, who knows what might happen. This season can turn out to be a good one. Lets get off the sneid this weekend against the Panthers and give our young guys a taste of victory. -
Pats Jets Game Thread - Who's watchin??
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched that game from mid first quarter on. Smith showed he is a rookie. He made some very good throws some where caught and some where dropped. He also made some very bad throws and bad decisions. Kind of what a rookie is. EJ is most likely going to have games like this too. When EJ goes up against great D's that can disguise things better he will struggle some. The thing i took from last night is the Pats are hurting. I am not so sure it is fixed 100% because Gronk and Danny A. come back either. -
Robert Woods or Stevie Johnson

Patriots Claim former Bills LB Chris White

3rd year. But i get what your saying, he wont be in the league after 4 seasons. -
Injuries are a part of the game but guys do not 'play through' them as much as before. There are many reasons for this from medicine and diagnosis has gotten better so doctors are able to tell a player an injury will get better with rest or surgery. Also players and agents are looking out for their career or a team is looking out for it's investment. Not to mention how many of the tough guys from the past got hooked on pain killers or had to use them just to function after football. It is what it is. Football is a violent sport which takes a special individual to be able to succeed at it. Talent, football instincts, toughness, but also a tough body that can stand up to the beating. This is why there is so few guys who end up making it to the NFL and then being successful once their. I hope EJ has it, because we as Bills fans are long overdue for a true Franchise QB.

You better think about that Ravens game again. I picked them as my drop off team this year. Also Minnie in NFC. Ravens got exposed. And you can pretty much take the SB champ and throw it out the window after the butt kicking they got in Denver. I know Denver is good but good teams do not get blown out like that.

It's In Philly, Not Buffalo
atlbillsfan1975 replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want to see this offense in week 10 once D cords have had time to adjust to it. I also wonder about how long Vick will last. I watched him play here in ATL, he always went for the extra yard. Vick was the fastest guy on the field back in the early 2000's. Not so much now. Father time has slowed him down a step or two. Take that into consideration with his age and injury looming. Kelly will only be succesful if he adapts to the pro game. His O looks nice now, but so did the wildcat and the run and shoot. You have to adapt because the D cords will. Being stubborn will ultimately lead to Kelly failing, -
Every Bills coach has lost their first game. i know the Bills have had some bad HC's but they also have had some great ones. HC's that have won Championships from the AFL days to Marv who got the team to 4 straight SB. As far as the last drive the Bills had the ball, i can go either way. Personally i think you keep running your offense that in the second half got you 7 points on an 80 yard drive. You where not going to run the clock out no matter what. Even if you went down and scorred a TD you still would have only been up by 8( a one possesion game). Brady would of had enough time to lead his team down the field and score. And go for 2 and send it to OT. What then? People complaining Marrone did not go for a 2pt conversion? Monday morning QB is great. You are never wrong because someone else already took the risk and failed. We can sit here and say what we would have done because we already know what not to do.

honestly?? Ok so two years ago when the Bills where winning games due to the other teams giving them games, ala Bradys 5 picks, we knew the Bills where not that good. I want the Bills to win more then anyone, trust me. Going into this year i wanted to see this team get better as the year went along not worse. We have witnessed that in 2011 and 2008. I took a lot of positives from the game. You can dwell on the negatives and get stuck in that place or look at the postives and build on them. I know that is a foreign concept to a lot of Bills fans. But oh well, some people are happy being miserable.
-
This was kind of my thought. But i also would rather of played them at close to full strength the way the Bills did. The Vets on the Bills got to feel better about that lose then maybe a few wins from the Gailey/Fitz era. Bills played the Pats straight up and barely lost.

Jairus Byrd our Peyton Hillis Headache
atlbillsfan1975 replied to John Belucheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was a play or two where a healthy Byrd might have made. Leonhard did a very good job for only practicing a week. i suspect Leonhard will play better for the next couple weeks. Then age and the rigors of the NFL will begin to catch up with him, At thi spoint hopefully Byrd is ready to return. I do not wish Byrd ill will. I want the Bills to win and dont care who they do it with. Personally i think this D is showing that they might not need an 'elite safety' eating up a lot of cash. Instead get Gilmore healthy and then go after another CB early in the draft. -
The refs where weird yesterday in their calls. Like unless you where a 'known name' you where not getting a call. I mean the rookie Leodis was all over got no love.
