Injuries. When will this team address this?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to offyourocker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly besides Byrd and Gilmore going into this game the Bills where pretty healthy. McKelvin going down killed the Jets game. IF McKelvin is out there to cover Holmes or Hill, the Bills win the game probably, at very least cut down the long deep strikes. Injuries happen, that is when coaching has to step in. But given the fact the Bills are so banged up in one area- DB's there is no amount of coaching to over come that. God i hope Byrd and Gilmore are healthy very soon. I have not seen what is the word on McKelvin yet??? -
Rogers did his best. But he is not capable of being locked on a number one receiver. This was the biggest reason the Jets won. I have got to give it to Geno, he can throw a nice deep ball. However after watching him play yesterday for the second time, he reminds me of JP Lossman. Pettine was left trying to figure out what to do. The only thing i would have liked to see was giving Rogers a little help deep. I know Pettine was trying to defend the run. But i would rather of made the Jets work their way down the field with the run. To me that gives more opportunity for Geno to make a bad decision and give you the ball back. Hindsight 20/20. But oh well.

Hacketts scheme is a major issue!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is the problem. This is the NFL. Hackett and any OC should have proven they belonged here. He has trouble adjusting mid game it would appear. I base this off a few things from the first weeks of this young season. Running Spiller into the middle of the D line is silly. Running anyone into the Jets Dline is silly. It will be unsuccessful more then successful. And i do understand about trying to establish the run or keep a d honest. But since Hackett hardly ever used play action, why try to force the run??? There is a saying when it comes to coaching and adjusting- In High School you watch the game on Saturday and make adjustments for next week. In College you make adjustments at half. In the pro's you make adjustments all game long. To me Hackett has shown little ability to make adjustments during the game. I hope he can adjust to the speed of the game, right now he is not cutting it to me. Coming from you this actually makes EJ look better. You are the same poster who wanted a Mario for Skelton. Tim Teabow. Landry Jones. Etc.... -
So does Byrd play on sunday or not?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get what you are saying. But the Bills need to be the bigger man at this point. It also will show other players and perspective players that Marrone and his staff did the right thing. IF they just used Byrd on ST that would get around. Not a good thing to be known as. -

This makes me think Byrd plays next week in limited snaps/capacity. He will maybe dress this week. Doubt he gets on the field. Gilmore may be back by Clev game. God i hope everyone stays healthy. Would love to see what this team could be like on D after about 3-4 weeks of playing together. -

With Byrd and Gilmore in the backfield along with what McKelvin and Williams are playing like, this D just got nasty good. Take into consideration the Mario, K. Williams and Dareus look inspired and healthy. Kiko looks like he is progressing well. I think Searcy plays the rover role good. This could be a 'Ravens' type D. -

Rogers signed to colts 53 man roster
atlbillsfan1975 replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was better then decent and that is why people feel like he has untapped talent. Rogers showed great talent in the best confrence in college football. that is why some believe he has potential. However as you touched on his head and immaturatity seem to be getting in the way of his talent. They did at Tenn Tech and did with the the Bills. He is a Colt now. Good Luck! Just not when you play the Bills! -
Doubt they go CB in an early round. Most likely TE and OL. Then turn to the D. TE would be so huge for EJ.

How soon can they extend Pettine?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Ludwig van's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on man, it is hump day. the glass is half full! Besides Brannon and Whaley seem like smart younger guys. I doubt we see many 60+ y/o guys hired anytime soon(yes Wanny turned 60 in May 2012). Nothing against you 60 y/o guys. -
EJ before GW drive: "Be legendary"
atlbillsfan1975 replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya and think you are exactly correct. You can tell EJ has the 'it' factor. The presence and commands respect. Lets hope his development is quick and successful because i think sky is the limit for him and then the team. -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to Ludwig van's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we are jumping the gun a little but i do like the 'find a guy on the staff' approach first. If we see the difference in the D you can bet Brandon and Whaley do. I doubt they will allow another old retread D Cord like Wanny to ever step foot back at One Bills Drive. -
Whole lot of yapping coming out of NJ
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BRH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Buffalo Bills should not either. I hope and i do believe this Bills team is going to stay focused and is ready to prove they are a legit team. here is hoping we are celebrating another victory by 8 on sunday night. I mean if the guys would like to not make it a last second victory that would be cool too! -

In the context of being honest he did. Now IF he is lying about his PF then he has stooped to the level of a thief. Now i have no clue if he does or does not have PF. But as zazzie pointed out, he played with it last year, he has had all offseason to let it heal. The evidence does not paint Byrd in a good light to anyone in the NFL. I think that is what Parker and Byrd are missing. Let's say the Bills let Byrd walk and do not franchise him after this year. I am very interested to see what another team will pay for him. A. He is a guy with a bad foot condition that their is no cure for and can act up at anytime. B. He is a guy with bad character and thus a team will not want him around. Byrd and Parker feel the Bills hosed them by franchising them. that is an opinion not fact. So what happens next time Byrd and Parker feel hosed? Does the PF act up again to prove that they hold the cards??? The more the Bills win the better this gets for us fans and for this situation. -

Minnie Fans with Christian Ponder may disagree right now. -
Bills D vs. Geno should be fun
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsintaiwan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sceme yes. But intimate knowledge of personnel is solely on Pettine. Pettine coached the D, he knows most of those players strengths and weakness'. He also saw firsthand the offenses strengths and weakness. Ie maybe an O linemen struggles more in pass protection then run blocking... Could i be reaching? Sure. But i also think there is something to pettine wanting to beat Rex and the Jets. he will do all he can. -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsintaiwan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really do like Pettine and his knowledge of the jets personnel to help out a lot here. Pettine will be able to help out Hackett and Marrone with the O game plan. Pettine also knows the Jets O pretty good. Pettine will be bale to pick Marrone and Hacketts brain about Geno. I also agree with SJBF- Bills can win the next 3 games. Ravens are ripe for the picking. Cleveland on a Thursday night game should be fun too! This team could be 4-1(only loss being a last second FG by the pats). -
For those who have watched Manuel
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure if you watched Sports Center but they had Marrone mic'ed up. At one point he is on the side line talking to someone(i am guessing EJ, you can not really tell) he says to him this very thing. 'Do not over analyze it, make a decision and go with it'. The more i watch and listen to marrone he reminds me of a young Parcels. -
That was great. That is a classy Jets fan in the making!

Mario deserves praise for his game
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think it is more about the questions of him living up to his contract. Maybe a little of the comparisons he has also been hearing to Bruce?? He did just beat his single game sack total...yes he has a long way to go. The performance yesterday was very reminiscent of games Bruce had. Lets hope he has a bunch more! -
Wannsteds squad just lost the game.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem is that Wanny should not be anywhere near a NFL team. Shcianno gave Wanny a job just like Gailey because of past relationships. Wanny has got to be either as guilt tripper or a salesman for himself. He stinks as a coach. Nepotism is usually a very bad thing. Seems Shcianno is figuring that out the hard way like Gailey did. -
1998 - Bills v Jaguars at The Ralph
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If EJ had ran it in on that last scramble, 100% would agree. Kelly going up the gut to get that win was awesome. EJ today was good not great but he got the win. He had some 'rookie' moments. But he overcame them.
