Has anyone taken notice that
atlbillsfan1975 replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure about the past few years. i think the team was what it was. This year is different. First the rookie QB. Second the entire new coaching staff. Including first time HC to the NFL and his OC is a first time OC in the NFL. Also there are so many guys in their rookie or 2nd year that are contributing. Some guys, Robey, are UDFA that are really stepping up. This D is looking better and better. Something we expected as the year went on and guys got healthy and learned the new system. Sacks and Int's are directly related and are the core of what Pettine likes to do. So those stats show the Bills are executing on Pettine's style. -
The Atlanta Falcons week 13
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not think Blank is that type of owner. He will fire Smith after the season. I do not know for sure if Smith gets fired or not. Bt if the Falcons finish 2-14 or 3-13 then chances are good he will be. The injury excuse goes only so far. -
The Atlanta Falcons week 13

One more point- after this Thursday the Falcons will be 2-9. they will be eliminated from the playoffs at that point. Talk about a team with absolutely nothing to play for that came into the year as many peoples SB teams. The only thing that stinks about this game is it is in a dome. IF this game of all games was outside in December the Falcons would have little to no shot. They can not run the ball and have a very bad D. The best thing is to allow the Falcons to get into short yardage situations because of their inability to run the ball. Over the past two seasons i can not tell you how many short yardage situations the falcons have to take to passing to Gonzalez. Steal a page of Belichick's book and do not let Gonzalez off the line. Treat him lik eyou do a gunner on a punt. -
The Atlanta Falcons week 13

I hear ya man. but the Falcons have given up it seems. by the time the Bills play them the Falcons will be 2-9. i am going to the game this Thursday night here in Atl against the Saints. Smith is no Tomlinson. And EJ appears to have his confidence back. There are no sure fire wins for the Bills i get that. But you look at this one from a here and now stance and the Bills should be a 6 point fav. -
The Atlanta Falcons week 13
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Atl is my second favorite team way behind Buffalo. Atlanta is bad. The Falcons have little to no pass rush to speak of. Abrahams left and the Falcons picked up Osi. But they have little outside of him. The Falcons best LB Witherspoon has been out but will be back for this game. The secondary for the Falcons has also been very suspect. The Falcons went with a CB Trufant in the first round but he has has his rookie struggles. On O the Falcons still have Matt Ryan. But the line is very bad. They lost their starting left tackle in preseason and their center retired at the end of the season last year. The Falcons have been very very bad running the ball. S. Jackson has done little to replace M.Turner who sliped in production last year. Gonzalez is still the premiere TE. The guy always gets open or makes a tough catch. R White has also been banged up a lot of the year and not playing anywhere near what he has been the past 4 years with Ryan. J. Jones getting injured and out has also really hurt this team. Ryan has been in my opinion 'pressing' trying to win every game. Thus his Int numbers are way up. Honestly guys- If the Bills play as determined as they did against the Jets. And the coaches call a game like they did against the jets this game should have a similar outcome. ATL is not a good team right now. -
Official Playoff Possibilities Thread
atlbillsfan1975 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just win. On one hand, I would be upset if the Bills finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs. On the other hand if the Bills win out and look great doing so(including EJ proving he is the guy) then i would be very happy. Playoff scenarios are great and i am not peeing on any cheerios. personally i bet NE runs Denver out of NE this week. Not sure why but i think NE beats Denver big. Anyone else notice as the weather gets colder Manning looks more and more just good(ha)? -
I think the Bills get him for one more year at least there are other really good Cords out there that will be in line for a HC job too. Guys that have already interviewed in the past for the position. I doubt Pettines phone rings too much this off season. Next year if the D looks better he will get interviews. I think after the 2015 season IF the D plays great will be when he gets his shot.

To our point 10 Bill-The fact that EJ bounced back the way he did is a very good sign. It shows determination and ability to go out in those conditions and produce. Now lets see EJ and the entire O focus and get ready for an awful Falcons D. The Bills should hange 35+ on the Falcons. I want to see EJ have two back to back good games.

Who wants to apologize to Nate Hackett??
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I been Hackett's biggest critic and by no means am i ready to say after one game i was wrong. The injury excuse guys have been using for Hackett's O being bad is not a good one. EJ just had his best day with out his 2 best recievers in the game. Point is Hackett did call a nice game yesterday. IF he does it more consistently and the Bills O looks like it did yesterday then i will admit i am wrong. Till then jury is out on him. Kudo's to the staff trying something different with Hackett on the sideline. And the wait and see approach to an OC is just silly. The guy should be good or he should not be an OC in the NFL! There are only 32 of those jobs in the world. You should either be one of the best 32 for the job or not have it. You are ready to be one or not. Guess we are so use to losing as Bill's fans we will even allow our coaches to take time to develope like a player. Sad. -
I would trade CJ in a heartbeat. It could be our mini Herschel Walker trade to some team who believes they are missing a dynamic game changer type of guy. I know CJ is a great talent but i just do not think he will be here after his contract ends and i also am not sold on him being the 20 touch a game back. If the Bills could get a couple picks for him i would be for it. I do like SJ and think he should be kept. I could see SJ and Woods turning into a great 1-2 wr tandem for some time to come.

He was never convicted of rape. There where no charges even filed against him for the accusations in Georgia. As for the Nevada 'incident' it was settled with a non disclosure of what the settlement was. It was a civil case. I am not saying Ben did not put himself in bad positions which opened himself up to some questions, but calling the guy a rapist is just unfair. Focus on his ability. He has 4-5 years left in him i think. He is a qb who will frustrate the heck out of you at times and then wow you others. He could flourish here. The Bills have some very good weapons he could use. I am not sure what the play would be, but if it could be done for a first and a player i would go for it. I doubt the financial ramifications will allow it though.

Sloppy Thursday Night Football...Solution?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would be to appease the NFLPA. Really every player would be playing in one more game then currently, except the one you designate your franchise guy(QB most likely). The entire team gets a bye. Expand the roster. Maybe to 60 players. If everyone is doing this then you would not have any disadvantages really. You would have to denote the players you are going to sit by Monday at 3pm before the game. You can not sit the same guy twice. Think about it. Everyone would win. The owners get what they want, 2 more high priced regular seasons games, which could offset the additional salaries. Poke holes in it please. I am just thinking outside the box. maybe it is crazy. -
Fitxpatrick to start for Titans
atlbillsfan1975 replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe Fitz lost the Titans the game last week in similar fashion we witnessed. The guy is a mush. Brings you to the point of winning just to break your heart. \ Watch him light it up and cause the Titans to think he may be their better option at QB. -
Sloppy Thursday Night Football...Solution?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
18 week season. expand the roster. stay with one bye week. But make it so the team has to make every player on your team inactive for one more game. You can have one player be exempt from the inactive list, your QB? -
If he fails to make that throw then either- A. Work on it a lot in practice and get him to make it. B. If he struggles with it figur eout what he does do better and draw up players that suit that. In the preseason and even first couple games EJ had that same 'moxy' you are saying Lewis had. Now EJ for sure did not have it against Pitt. But the one thing everyone said/says about EJ is he has the 'it' factor. Maybe Hackett and his inability to work with EJ has crushed some of EJ's confidence? Not sure. But i do think Hackett and EJ to this point have struggled to work well together,

Bills contact NFL about scheduling disadvantage
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you do not buy that it is an attempt to grow the brand and thus secure the Bills in Buffalo for a longer period of time? -
Why is the media not pointing the finger at Hackett?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see you are coming around to Hackett being an issue. I believe we got into it in another thread over this earlier in the year. hackett has to go and Marrone has got to get a QB coach and OC who understand the NFL. IF this team had an OC as competent as Pettine they would be pretty darn good. The talent is not too far off. -
So far EJ looks like a guy that should have been picked in the third round. Now EJ also has the potential to be a guy that could be the next franchise QB. EJ has all the ability and the presence to be that guy. I have got to wonder at what point does the fact Hackett is maybe not a good QB coach and OC come into play here?

Bills contact NFL about scheduling disadvantage
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Got to agree with you. The fact the Bills are willing to help grow the NFL to Canada should mean the Bills get at least a fair schedule. That is another way to look at it Simon. I know it also helps the Bills but let us not forget the NFL gets more exposure too
