Is Byrd Replaceable?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was also pretty bad in the Atlanta game on a couple of long runs. Byrd is a ball hawk as you point out. Other then that i believe the rest of his skill are average. he is by no means a Troy P. I doubt highly the Bills bring him back. Byrd will get paid, and good for him. I want Byrd but at a fair price. Maybe the 5-7 best safety area. Byrd believes i THINK he deserves 1-3 best safety value. -
Everybody Done with their Rants yet?

I think my gut tell me we got the wrong coach. That is why i am so upset right now. I thought the Marrone higher was bad and now it look slike i was right. My fear is we will suffer through 2 more lousy seasons and EJ will never develope under these guys. In 2016 we will have a new HC and new QB. Marrone and Hackett look like two mediocre college coaches trying to learn how to coach in the NFL. That is just sad. And if you think the Bills are beating anyone else this year then you must be watching something else then i am. Jax is playing with a lot of pride. Miami will have everything on the line and the Pats will be trying to lock up the second spot for a bye. 4-12 here we come. -
Another guy named Jim kelly did not want to play in Buffalo. I am not sold on Johnny Football. I think he could have a decent career. I also am concerned about his longevity in the NFL. Some team will take him in the first round. To me it is a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. His WR Evans makes him look pretty good on numerous plays

get EJ what he needs to succeed in 2014
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BackInDaDay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you about weapons. I also think if the Bills had better receiving options you can mask the Oline a little. I know it sounds backwards but if another team has to respect the pass as much as the run, then your oline has an advantage. Right now teams are keying on the run. i am not writing EJ off. i am more worried that hackett's inability to work well with him is hurting EJ's career and confidence. -
Well as of right now we draft 6th
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need one of those playoff odds things but for draft picks! ha Just glancing at who has the same or worse record and it looks like the Bills have the easiest schedule left. It would be nice if the Bills got the number one pick and could turn it into a trade scenario. Texans will surely take a QB. So Bills need to hope they win a few games and the Bills blow all of them. I was rooting hard for Minnie yesterday. Sad that it has come to hoping other sucky teams win more games then our sucky team. -
Demote Hackett to QB coach Hire a real OC TE in first or second round LB or CB opposite wherever you get TE- First or Second round LB or CB in the third Oline in FA Resign Byrd New Secial teams coach.

You are living in the past brother. look at the good coaches today. they are smart articulate motivaters! Levy's style would not work with today's NFL. Pete Carrol is the best at it. Belichick will be nothing once Brady leaves. he is the only one who i can think of that is not an emmotional succesful HC.
-
They saw talent they coached it up and he performed when given a chance. The Bills could not get out of him what the Colts apear to be. You can try and mask it any other way but the fact is the kid can play and needs proper coaching and motivating. Bills where not able to handle that. Bills do not have one receiver i think on the entire team that has had that kind of day all year!!

Bill- Like you i was not happy about the Marrone hire. Then the Bill's PR dept released all these people sayin ggood things about him. Parcells, Peyton, and Brees to name a few. I decided to hope for the best. Now i realize my gut was right. I actually realized it at one point in Septemeber. Marrone is another Mularky. The way the Bills played is an indication of a team giving up. Look at the way the Falcons played against the Bills vs how the Bills just played against the Bucs. I have no clue about EJ and neither should any of you. EJ has Hackett and Marrone as his coaches. I feel bad for EJ. Hackett and Marrone need to go back to college coaching at a school with very low standards. The fact that they won some games at Syracuse was and is silly credentials for hiring a HC in the NFL. Guys and Gals as long as Marrone and Hackett are here get use to 4-12, 5-11, or maybe 6-10. These guys are brutal. We can only hope that the Bills lose so bad the next 3 games that Brandon is forced to do something drastic.

atlbillsfan1975 replied to BackInDaDay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on, both those guys are good. Best ever? Not so fast Graham- 3rd round pick Gronk- 2nd round pick. Point is you have to find these guys. Easy? Nope. But the Bills need to address TE once and for all and stop with the cast off's. -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to BackInDaDay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills need to get EJ a pass catching TE coming out of college. FIND the next Gronk or Graham. There have been so many times over this past season that if the Bills had a legit play making TE games could have been different. I like Chandler, but he is what he is. Slow ploder. Who has average hands and fumbles the ball in crucial times. TE in round one LB or CB in round 2 or OG. A dynamic TE would also play huge dividends with the rest of the WR's. -
2 idiotic games from .500
atlbillsfan1975 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losers lose. This franchise is a loser franchise. We as fans sit there and expect to blow it. You do not think the players think the same way? -
Adjusted? What do you mean? Play calling? What?

Then let Hackett stay on as a QB coach. Kubiak is your oc. I know it never happens...

Jerry Hughes and Mario Williams chasing history
atlbillsfan1975 replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Makes you wonder do the Bills need the kid from UB? -
Time will tell who is right. But i am on record that Hackett is bad and will be bad. Marrone will prove what he is at seasons end. IF he fires Hackett we have hope. OR if he demotes Hackett and bring in a real OC. I was once like you. But after watching the past 4 coaches i am done being a blind loyalist. I will cheer for the Bills and follow them, but i am not going to ignore what i see and my knowledge of the game. Hackett lacks understanding and feel for the game. So does Marrone honestly. Ask yourself this- If this was another team, and you watched every game with no emotions, would you still think Hackett was good? As far as your poins about Marrones credentials. Peyton was the OC with Brees. Marrone was not an intrical part of that system. They have been just fine with out him. And as for Syracuse, come on man, it is Syracuse football. IF Marrone had turned around a SEC program and beat a couple big boys, fine.

Tashard Choice released, Wingo's role to increase
atlbillsfan1975 replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Choice looked pretty bad on one run last week. That was the only time i saw him run it. i doubt that is why, but Choice has always been more of a 'ploder' type guy. You wish his talent matched his leadership desire. -
I will give you it is not easy. But should it be? My point is Hackett is 1 of 32 people in the entire world to hold the job title of OC for a NFL team. Can you honestly tell me he is 1 of the best 32 options for that position? OR he was brought in because Marrone felt comfortable with him? IF Marrone sticks with Hackett after this season then Marrone is writing helping write his own pink slip. Some of you may say Hackett is ok or even good at calling plays, but i doubt any of you will say great? Why is it that we fail to see how that translates into him not being a great QB coach as well? Plus take into consideration he has never had either role before in the NFL, it is easy to see he is in over his head.
-
EJ has the right attitude but the wrong coaches. I just do not think Hackett can develop EJ. It does not appear like the two of them communicate well. I really hope i am wrong, but i fear Hackett will ruin EJ's career and ina couple season's we will be right back where we started. A new coaching staff and looking for a qb.
-
Point is why have them as an option? I mean 3rd and 2 run the ball. Deep in your own end design safe plays. Get a first down and get back some field position. Communication looks off between Hackett and EJ. Except for the Jets game there has not been a lot of times when the O seems to be in rythm for long stretches. I am not sure about man coverage, but EJ is a rookie. It is up to the staff to manage him and help him manage the games at this point in his career.

Hackett stinks. He has no feel for the game or how to call a good game. News flash, the Falcons D STINKS!!!!! How about on 3rd and 2 in the second half throwing a bomb. This is after you have rushed for near 150yds!! Or how about deep in your own end throwing two bombs on second and third down?? Hackett is horrible buddy. he plain out belongs calling games for Syracuse! I am sorry but that was a must win game against an inferior opponent. I watch most Falcons games. I went to two of them. They are brutal. You guys can keep hoping that Hackett and Marrone are going to turn things around. I use to do this too. I did it with all the coaches since Wade. And guess what they all have let me down. Marrone is a big goof on the sideline. Sorry but this team will go no where with Marrone and his buddy Hackett.
