Who said Defense doesn't win Championships
atlbillsfan1975 replied to mrags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Give a good D two weeks to get ready for Manning or Brady or Brees and they can beat them. Now Denver shot itself in the foot many times over...But Seattles D was ready for everything. -
Marv got out coached in the one game the Bills had more talent, The Giants game. Every other team the Bills faced had better talent put together by other GM's. I am not so sure what you are getting at. My point is they all belong in the SB. Marv got beat by Parcell's and Belichik, that is nothing to be ashamed of. Polian put together a good team, that ran into better teams/coaches. Reed was a great player. To think different is to have on poop colored glasses.

REDSKINS!!!! Open to Trading Cousins
atlbillsfan1975 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lewis looked better than Cousins THIS year. Enough said. Just because Cousins LOOKS(size) the part does not mean he is a qb. -
REDSKINS!!!! Open to Trading Cousins
atlbillsfan1975 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He did not look great this year at all. He had better value after 2012. If anyone give up more then a 3rd for him they are blind fools. There is no reason to think Cousins is not the next Ryan Fitzpoopstick! -
C.J. Mosley or Khalil Mack
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsFan3434's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you for being honest with that evaluation. That makes me a little hesitant to want Mack in the first. I am one of those who believes you do not take a LB, RB, or Safety in the first unless you feel confident he can be the next great one at that position for 10years, Patrick Willis, A Peterson, T. Polamalu. I think the Bills need to go OL or WR. -
Bills hire Jim Hostler as Senior Offensive Assistant
atlbillsfan1975 replied to d_wag's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As one of the biggest critics of Hackett, i love this hire and the hire of a QB coach!! Yes, these moves do say Hackett was in over his head! As i said at the end of the year, we will know what kind of coach we have in Marrone by how he handles Hackett and the Offense. The fact that Marrone has added two guys says he is not a stubborn ego maniac, instead it says he gets he needs to adapt. This is a great sign and gives me hope. Now lets hope the hires come together and can get the most out of the talent that they have, If they do that, i think we got something going here. -
Schwartz and Belichick parallels
atlbillsfan1975 replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is what happened to me with the marrone hire, the more the Bills P.R. dept leaked info the more i bought it. But today i am right back were i started, i hate the Marrone hire. I do like the Schwartz hire. Replaced a real NFL coach with another one. -
Pettine has officially signed on as coach of the Browns
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pettine was the only somewhat credible guy the Browns could find for the job. I wish him luck, i really have no clue if Pettine will be any good. I do know how i felt when the Bills hired Marrone, i feel the same way today. Let down. It took Marrone a year to realize you need a QB coach and OC. I am willing to bet Pettine will have the right amount of coaches on his staff. Between Marrone and Pettine, i go with Pettine. Hope i am wrong... -
It was also only his third season playing the position. I like where he is and how he is progressing. If he does so at the same pace you lock him up after next season. I believe this is what the Bills have planned and why they let Levitre walk.

Former Buffalonians or snow birds
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsfan_34's topic in Off the Wall Archives
People here in Atlanta have been complaining about how cold it has been this winter. We have had a couple of days of single digits when we woke up. There is a 50% chance of some snow tomorrow afternoon, people are already panicking. Problem is in these southern cities they have no equipment, nor should they, to deal with the snow. The roads here also are not anywhere near as laid out as Buffalo. Hope you guys thaw out quick! -
Pettine has officially signed on as coach of the Browns
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills just lost the only NFL ready coach on the entire staff. Things just went from not good to really really bad i think. What QB is going to be in the draft in 2015? Bills will be picking first i think. -
Richard Sherman post game -- 'nuff said!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can tell you why i did not like what he said. To me it sounded as if Sherman took a lot more credit then was due. It was a nice play for sure. Sherman however never once mentions another member of his team. He went on and on about himself and Crabtree. Humility is something that many people are going to enjoy watching Sherman learn about. Sportmanship needs to be relished, Sherman has no clue what it is. As D. Sanders said, once the game is over you drop it, specially if you win the game. Sherman showed no class. I get between the lines and the whistle talking trash, i do. I use to do it a lot when i played. Get in your opponents head. I can not tell you how many Dlinemen i pulled off talking trash to them before the snap. After the game i would smile and shake their hands and tell them great game. -
Brady is a great QB no question about it. Anyone saying otherwise is kidding themselves. I will say this Belichik after the game sounded like a guy who is realizing the end is nearing.

Mike Pettine speculation-interviewing w Cleveland
atlbillsfan1975 replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not want Pettine to leave at all. Personally i think he is the only NFL caliber coach on the staff. But if he does leave it will be interesting to re-visit this statement from Marrone to see who is brought in or promoted. -
Richard Sherman post game -- 'nuff said!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sherman showed little respect for the game last night. He made a fool of himself. And i bet a lot of his team mates are getting tired of his mouth. Last year when the Ravens beat the Patriots i remember seeing someone shadowing Ray Lewis the last few minutes of the game and then right after the game. Almost like they where there to keep Ray under control. The end of a Championship game with adrenaline going can bring out the best and worse in people. Last night it brought out the worse in Sherman i think. -
Mike Pettine speculation-interviewing w Cleveland
atlbillsfan1975 replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am with you. Personally i think you gain more respect from other GM's around the league if you turn down a job like Cleveland. You can point to about 4-5 legit reasons why you did not take the job. This shows you are not desperate and confiden that you will earn a shot in a better situation. -
Frank Reich...moving up in the ranks?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good for Reich. He deserves the shot. Very interesting that the HC in S.D ,McCoy, realized you need an OC with NFL exp AND a QB coach with NFL exp. Meanwhile Buffalo has 1 guy doing both OC and QB coach, neither position he has ever held at the NFL level. Another thing Marrone should but most likely will not address, thus leaving us with another 6-10 year. -
2014 NFL Draft Declarations
atlbillsfan1975 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok. The guy has potential. Agree to disagree. Not his fault where he was drafted. His position coach was just fired. And he had a couple nice catches this year. But hopefully you are right and he stinks. -
2014 NFL Draft Declarations
atlbillsfan1975 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A. That was my thought on not having to draft a WR at 9. B. As far as TJ, i do not know where all the hate comes from on here. The guy was a third rounder who started to show in his second season he can make some plays. He had three different QB's throwing the ball at him. 2 of which struggled with the deep throws. He also has an OC who i think does not always put him in the proper route. -
My take after some research on Byrd
atlbillsfan1975 replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are right that is the 'rub'. Personally i think the Bills need to learn how to spend wisely. Sometimes it is not their fault that a deal turns bad, ie a player gets paid and then his production diminishes. Byrd is one of those guys i would be hesitant, not saying i would not do it, to make the highest paid guy. -
2014 NFL Draft Declarations
atlbillsfan1975 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just going by that list it looks like WR is going to be very deep. TE also looks pretty solid. I know this is only the underclassmen, but LB looks light. -
9th draft slot puts Bills in action spot
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the same thing. Given BB history of QB picking. -
I get what you are saying. but when you have an employee who has never been great at what he does and you give him another chance and he fails again, it is time to move on. Crossman has been really bad way more then he has been decent. Sorry but you have to cut ties at some point.
-
Well this does it for me. because if he is going to keep Crossman you can bet he is going to keep Hackett and probably not add anyone else, like a qb coach. I never wanted Marrone has the coach. For a brief moment i bought into the Bills PR hype. Now however i realize i was correct. A coach from a terrible college program has no business coaching in the NFL.
