Jairus Byrd [was Jarius Byrd]
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Iowabillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We will find out. I got to believe Parker already knows exactly where Byrd will be playing and for how much. -
Exactly right. He should get paid like a solid player. Problem is i believe Parker is his agent??

Cap could hit $160 million in 2016
atlbillsfan1975 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been reading and thinking about this. And while i am worried about Buffalo keeping the Bills, at this rate of growth i find it hard to believe there are a lot of markets that could afford it. I get that Jerry and Dan S. and some of the other more lucrative guys do not have to worry about it, but gosh how many markets can afford a $200mil cap? It appears at this rate in the next 15 years we could be looking at that cap. These increases are far out pacing normal inflation. You think Cleveland, Pitt, Tampa, Jax, Minnie, even Tenn can afford those figures? It appears as iff the NFL is letting the cap be like the housing market 10 years ago. At some point it is going to come crashing down i fear. You have to have enough teams to make it worth watching. Or Maybe the NFL wants to condense the league? -
Post-Byrd Salary Cap, FA & Draft Targets
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
DeCoud was the poster boy for how bad the Falcons secondary was last year. Now they also got little to no pressure, so you got to take that into account. Good article though. I do not see the Bills spending real money on Dline except to extend Marcel maybe. -
Yes. The hope for me is the Bills find another FA tackle like Pears. Pears was decent his first year, but declined rapidly this past season. Hairston fights for RT with whatever FA they bring in. The loser becomes the swing tackle if capable.
-
In a perfect world Hairston is healthy. I am all for the Bills drafting a tackle in the 3rd -4th round that could compete with Hairston for the RT spot. I just am not keen on drafting a tackle in rounds one or two. No way the Bills will be able to sign Glenn and another tackle while Woods is also signed.

Chandler does not do one thing great. His entire game is average. Heck i would say he does not do anything really good. So, if the Bills can pay him an average salary for a decent TE sign him. If Chandler and his agent are thinking top 10 TE money, let him walk.

Goodell makes 44 Million for this.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to oman128's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Are you upset for Goodell making $44 million dollars? As someone else pointed out it is a billion dollar company. Someone has to make that kind of money. The boss makes the most money or the company fails to work. to whoever pointed out he gets paid twice what the highest player does, good!!! -
I always really liked him in Loose Cannons!

Clowney Being Compared To Greatness !!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And want to take him. The Falcons are praying the teams ahead of them go for the QB. I doubt Clowney lasts till 6 but i also would not be suprised to see Dimitrof trade up. Caldwell is his old buddy. -
I am not a fan of Hackett one bit. However i know he will last the entire season. Marrone is not going to fire a coach mid season, i just do not see that. My hope is now the Marrone has an entire staff, a qb coach and a OC, we will see improvement out of Hackett. Maronne screwed up by putting way too much on Hackett this pass year. Lets hope Hackett is the young innovative mind he has been touted for, and gets things sorted out.

Pepper Johnson to Bills Staff as D-Line coach
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So far i am impressed with what Marrone is doing in regards to his coaching staff. It appears he and Whaley are working well together. Lets hope for some player upgrades through the draft and FA so these coaches have more talent to coach! -
Who said Defense doesn't win Championships
atlbillsfan1975 replied to mrags's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Give a good D two weeks to get ready for Manning or Brady or Brees and they can beat them. Now Denver shot itself in the foot many times over...But Seattles D was ready for everything. -
Marv got out coached in the one game the Bills had more talent, The Giants game. Every other team the Bills faced had better talent put together by other GM's. I am not so sure what you are getting at. My point is they all belong in the SB. Marv got beat by Parcell's and Belichik, that is nothing to be ashamed of. Polian put together a good team, that ran into better teams/coaches. Reed was a great player. To think different is to have on poop colored glasses.

REDSKINS!!!! Open to Trading Cousins
atlbillsfan1975 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lewis looked better than Cousins THIS year. Enough said. Just because Cousins LOOKS(size) the part does not mean he is a qb. -
REDSKINS!!!! Open to Trading Cousins
atlbillsfan1975 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He did not look great this year at all. He had better value after 2012. If anyone give up more then a 3rd for him they are blind fools. There is no reason to think Cousins is not the next Ryan Fitzpoopstick! -
C.J. Mosley or Khalil Mack
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsFan3434's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you for being honest with that evaluation. That makes me a little hesitant to want Mack in the first. I am one of those who believes you do not take a LB, RB, or Safety in the first unless you feel confident he can be the next great one at that position for 10years, Patrick Willis, A Peterson, T. Polamalu. I think the Bills need to go OL or WR. -
Bills hire Jim Hostler as Senior Offensive Assistant
atlbillsfan1975 replied to d_wag's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As one of the biggest critics of Hackett, i love this hire and the hire of a QB coach!! Yes, these moves do say Hackett was in over his head! As i said at the end of the year, we will know what kind of coach we have in Marrone by how he handles Hackett and the Offense. The fact that Marrone has added two guys says he is not a stubborn ego maniac, instead it says he gets he needs to adapt. This is a great sign and gives me hope. Now lets hope the hires come together and can get the most out of the talent that they have, If they do that, i think we got something going here. -
Schwartz and Belichick parallels
atlbillsfan1975 replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is what happened to me with the marrone hire, the more the Bills P.R. dept leaked info the more i bought it. But today i am right back were i started, i hate the Marrone hire. I do like the Schwartz hire. Replaced a real NFL coach with another one. -
Pettine has officially signed on as coach of the Browns
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pettine was the only somewhat credible guy the Browns could find for the job. I wish him luck, i really have no clue if Pettine will be any good. I do know how i felt when the Bills hired Marrone, i feel the same way today. Let down. It took Marrone a year to realize you need a QB coach and OC. I am willing to bet Pettine will have the right amount of coaches on his staff. Between Marrone and Pettine, i go with Pettine. Hope i am wrong... -
It was also only his third season playing the position. I like where he is and how he is progressing. If he does so at the same pace you lock him up after next season. I believe this is what the Bills have planned and why they let Levitre walk.

Former Buffalonians or snow birds
atlbillsfan1975 replied to billsfan_34's topic in Off the Wall Archives
People here in Atlanta have been complaining about how cold it has been this winter. We have had a couple of days of single digits when we woke up. There is a 50% chance of some snow tomorrow afternoon, people are already panicking. Problem is in these southern cities they have no equipment, nor should they, to deal with the snow. The roads here also are not anywhere near as laid out as Buffalo. Hope you guys thaw out quick!
