Why does he love it? It is the truth, he stinks at his job and is in way over his head. He does not belong as OC. Even Marrone realized he mistake after last year and brought in 2 other coaches to prop Hackett up. Say what you will about the talent, good coaching could over come a lot of what we see on O. Just look at the D.

I think they are going to need to win in Oakland and Miami to get to 10 wins. To me it is going to come down to either beating Pats in NE or GB at home.
-
Yesterdays road victory made it 3 for the season. Bills are 3-1 on the road and 2-2 at home. Since 2000 only once have the Bills won on the road 4 times, 2004. The three road wins this year tie 2002, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Could not agree more with this. After the last couple times the Bills started the season winning only to watch it fall apart i am seeing certain things that remind me of that year. I hope this year is different and the Bills keep finding ways to win. The Jets are bad and played very disengaged for much of that game. Warning signs are there for this O. I do think the Bills can win 10 games despite play calling. I do not think they can win a playoff game UNLESS Orton plays a flawless game.

You know you can't run the clock out in the second quarter. Also I am not asking for the Bills to play aggressive or conservative but smart and sound. Look to score as many points as possible before halftime.

Buddy you have very little football IQ if you don't think Hackett is a huge problem.

Look up blind loyalist.

Hackett is the worse OC in the NFL. I really think he thought he could win the game with out scoring another point when the Bills got up 21-7. The guy does not belong in the NFL as anything more than an asst to the asst. Hackett can not keep up with the speed of the game. Marrone tried to put as many training wheels in place with the hire of an QB coach and O quality control coach The move this off season is hire a real OC.

Gerald McCoy contract --> Dareus

I don't think it is ridiculous to have drug clauses and safe driving ones given his recent history. Also a weight clause would be a good idea. -
You have to look at your entire team and what you have and do not have. The Bills have not had a prolific passer for a long time. I am still not totally convinced they do. Play to your strengths.

We discover the Bills this week
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PO'14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't agree more with the theme. But yes i think the Bills need to win this game. A win against the Jets makes me believe the Bills are a playoff contender for another game. The Bills can and should beat them, but when we have experienced so much let down, it is difficult not to expect it again. -
To me it was nothing against Mario if i remember right but more about Reggie Bush and that the Texans needed a 'home run' type of guy. They were not scoring points and Carr was getting killed. I also think that was the draft two other NC State Dlinemen where drafted in the first round? McCargo being one...?? We thought our scouts knew something...turned out they didn't! Ha

The all Sam Bradford thread
atlbillsfan1975 replied to NextYearGuys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you for that, i was unaware that the second year was a player option, and i agree. If the Bills bring another Vet in like a Bradford Orton is gone. Personally i hope Orton plays great and gets the Bills into the playoffs, maybe he will put it all together finally. IF Orton got 'hot' for a stretch in the playoffs this team could make some noise. -
I actually think going to a 50/50 run pass is one smart thing Marrone is trying to do. The league has been a passing league for at least the last decade. Yes the new penalty makes it harder for DB's but i have also seen many more Offensive PI calls. In all Marrone has many flaws, but i do not think this is one we should beat him up on.

The all Sam Bradford thread
atlbillsfan1975 replied to NextYearGuys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point. My two cents is what would a guy like Bradford cost? Are we thinking 8-10 a year for three or four years? Then i think the Bills could afford both guys. However right now i doubt the Bills bring Bradford in, but roll with Orton and EJ. EJ sits another year and is maybe ready to start 2016? I could see the Bills taking a QB project possibly in the 3-5th rounds this year. I think a major reason the Bills will be able to do that is because this is a team with few weak spots. -
The "experts" take - Bills at NYets
atlbillsfan1975 replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ryan is a blow hard but he is a good coach. I am starting to think he is losing the locker room due to some of 'his' guys retiring and or not there anymore. He is emotional and if he gets his team playing with emotions they have a shot like the NE game this year. No way with that team the Jets have should they have been in the game with NE. I really hope the Bills can string a little 2 game streak together and beat the Jets. Hughes will be a liability if he plays like he did against the Vikes. I say this because the Vikes ran right at Hughes a few times for big gains. I hope Hughes plays a little more disciplined this week or the D staff compensates for his style by rolling a LB or Safety over to his side. Jets want to pound the ball first and have a good tandem at RB to do it with. And Geno can and will be looking to run. Lets hope the Bills D doesn't give up to many 3 and long conversions like we have seen this year. I love Schwartz but i want to see him game plan for the Jets like he did against Detroit, Bears, and Vikes. i also hope Schwartz takes som epride and wants to show he is a good D cord in his own right. On Offense i think Orton will give them one turnover(fumble or pick) but i also see him being able to expose the secondary of the Jets. Bills 20 Jets 16 -
Kraig Urbik appears to have been freed

Coaches at times have input. I would suspect that Whaley would check with his HC who is an Oline coach about FA Oline moves. Maybe that is too far a stretch? -

Great points! You did not even mention the fact that some of the FA Oline pick ups have been disasters. I can not wait to hear who it was exactly thought C Williams was going to work. Some fans want to blindly follow coaches, i will do this at first. At this point in time however Marrone has not displayed a great deal of talent evaluation. The one saving grace is Marrone eventually admits he was wrong. -
The only issue i see with Hughes' game is he can be a liability in the run game. At least two times i saw big gains by the Vikes by running right past a up field charging Hughes. But without a doubt Hughes over CJ.

I expect the offense to improve significantly...

Devil's advocate...where do those teams rank in explosive scoring plays? over 20 yds? -
I got to agree with this. he reminds me of Brett Farve in this manner. People romanticize Farve, but honestly this is exactly what he would do. IF Orton can have games like Detroit and Minnie where he atones for his Int's with great drives that win games...who cares! And no i do not think Orton is anywhere near as good as Farve! He has the same mentality with not as much talent.

Who do we get for backup running backs?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to maryland-bills-fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are kind of saying the same thing I think. Brown takes Spiller spot and Dixon takes Freddies for the Jets game. The Bills may want to add another player to the gameday roster against the Jets then a RB. Not sure what our practice squad looks like right now, but an extra big dlineman might be good with how much the Jets like to run
