OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Look, forget trying to debate a Pats Fan. I’ve been told Belichick would take Mac Jones over Josh Allen, if that doesn’t tell you how delusional they are, nothing will. I will say I enjoyed going to the ‘85 Super Bowl and watching the Bears destroy the Pats. I hope you Pats fans keep coming on to this board. After the whipping in the Playoffs last year I think all the Pats mystique is gone. Belichick is old and will retire in 2-3 years. Brady won the Super Bowls, Bill was along for the ride. Without Brady Bill wouldn’t have won one Super Bowl. -
Help me out, what does the new defense look like?

Help me out, what does the new defense look like?

Miller, Oliver, Jones, Rousseau. Epenesa, Phillips, Settle, Basham. Still waiting on Settle and Phillips to officially sign, think the delay is due to money moving around. Beane doesn’t want to push a penny down the line he doesn’t need too. -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
You really need to understand the way the contract is structured. It isn’t a 6 year $120 mil guaranteed contract. You actually are proving the point it is a very good deal. -

This is a guy who can get us the play we need in the big game!! -
Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems to me if Wallace isn’t good at $8 mil a year, he still isn’t good at $4 mil a year. McD knows CB’s and saw that Wallace reached his ceiling. McD also saw White get hurt and knows they need to start planning for when White’s next deal is up. This means drafting a CB high and then paying him the money and letting White walk in 4 years. -
DT DaQuan Jones to Buffalo, $3.58M cap this year
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Definitely wait to see the full breakdown of the numbers before reacting. Since we aren’t seeing anything yet regarding Saffold’s deal, do you think it means it’s a team friendly one? Wouldn’t an agent put a big one year number out there? -
Bills are getting better on the interior dline and Pats are getting worse. Not sure how this is going to help a run heavy team with an average QB. I am sure some of our resident Pat fans will explain this to me.

McDermott’s plan for a pass rush IMO
atlbillsfan1975 replied to streetkings01's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is when the model breaks down. Not having that one guy who can make that one play when you need it is missing from the dline. Oliver has shown flashes but needs another guy. Maybe One of our early picks can be that guy, but I’d love a Chandler Jones who can turn it on in a “must have situation “. -
This trade was made because Brady agreed to mention NE next time he retires.

Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
For things this says- The fact they wouldn’t pay $4 mil a season says a lot to me about how Beane and McD value Wallace’s services. Think how much better Poyer and Hyde will look with another good CB playing CB2. Dane Jackson showed he can be as good as Wallace. -
JD Mckissic to Bills 2 year, 7 million
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This is key, he can stay in and pass block, catch the ball, and is a good runner with the ball. Bills won’t tip their hand when he is in. People comparing him to Breida have done zero work to look into McKissic’s skill set. -
Bills sign DT Tim Settle, formally of Washington Commanders.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall
In 2020 he got the extra snaps due to an injury to the other reserve DT. If anything this shows when he get opportunities he shines. -
Feliciano to the Giants - Will play center
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
And I think he likes playing center more. -
Edit! McKenzie is back on a 2 year deal worth 4.4 million
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This is an overpay IF McKenzie doesn’t improve on his numbers from last year. I am guessing the front office and coaches met to discuss what his role will be. McKenzie will get his shot since Beasley won’t be on the roster most likely. My concern with McKenzie has always been durability due to extra touches. -
Joe Marino of LockedOn Bills did a great job on his Friday podcast of walking through how to get $38 mil in cap space. Another poster actually started a thread detailing the info. Nothing Joe did seemed outlandish or like it would put the Bills in cap hell anytime soon.

Feliciano cut [now according to Bills]
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Second round tender for Bates not Zimmer. Bates is by far more valuable. I could see Bates get a multi-year deal, he showed was starting caliber at a position of need. Zimmer is ok, but I don’t see anyone fighting for his services after the injury. -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Williams is meh, which is why he will be cut or restructured. No way he stays at that cap number, playing guard, and playing at an average level. You are one of the few people I respect on here when it comes to oline takes. I played oline into college. Some people get it, others don’t. Feliciano was a great teammate but a below average talent. Bills moved past his level of play with the talent they have now. -

atlbillsfan1975 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seriously! He went from one of my favorite Bills to a guy who I knew it was best to move on from. I’m sure he will find another team and be back to a starter/rotation player. Oline depth in the league just isn’t great. The Bills have come a long way in three seasons. -
Joe hinted that Davis has a sweet tooth and has had weight issues. I am connected some dots between and unmotivated guy like Dareus turned out to be and someone not keeping weight down. When I listen to Davis and talk with guys who know the program, Davis is a high character guy. I think he can do anything asked if him, and will. Time will tell. You are right, I am a UGA fan, the team that just won the NC with epic defensive play. Dareus always struck me as a guy who was talented but never loved football. I don’t think that’s the case with Davis. You have gone on the record with your takes as well, both yours and mine are opinions. Enjoy.

I heard that on LockedOn too. Listen to Davis during interviews and tell me what about that guys personality says he won’t do everything he is asked. Comparing him to Darrius is ignorant. Davis is a great guy, teammates love him, and he has speed, agility, and size. I can remember when those where all things you wanted from an interior dline. I respect the heck out of Joe, but think he might be wrong on this one. Like Joe said “you aren’t scouting, if you don’t miss on a player e v a l.”.
