  1. If the Bills take a QB with one of the first two it will contradict everything they have done this offseason. Bills are in a win now mode. The Bills are taking the Seattle approach. Build a great D, good running game, good special teams, and ask your QB to make a couple plays to win a game when needed. To that end the second round pick needs to be a contributor this season and so does the third round pick.
  2. A broke clock is right twice a day. besides it was Hogan's catch that was the clutch catch. Chandler's was nice, but not calling it the clutch one for that game.
  3. The guy was anti clutch!!! Just like Stevie!!
  4. I think those two pairings maximized potential for the development of the player. Luck and Carrol would be alright, but i think what he learned from Arians was more beneficial to him. I also think Wilson with Carrol is a better fit. Conversely i feel that Marrone's style was not great for EJ.
  5. First- i see Harbaugh as a tough coach who is demanding and also a brilliant Offensive mind. He is not a rah rah guy. yes he gets animated on the sideline, but he is deliberate in his calls and knows how to coach a QB. Second- i was talking about the pro's.
  6. My point was about how the 'fit' between coaching staff and QB can be essential in a qb's growth. Wilson and Pete Carroll seem to be a perfect fit. Positive, upbeat, rah-rah guys. R. Wilson needed that big time. I think EJ could benefit from that. I don't think a guy like A. Luck needs that or would of benefited from it. B. Arians was a great fit for Luck his rookie year, positive cerebral type of coach. I see EJ as benefiting from being around a more lose guy like Rex while having a coach like Roman there to play to his strength's.
  7. How do you think Russell Wilson would have been over the first three years of his career under Marrone and Hackett?
  8. This was my immediate thought. Seem pretty stacked at ST's already. And i don't see where he fits as a WR. The big redzone threat?
  9. I agree with you mostly. The thing i like about Whaley is that he is actually addressing areas of need. How many off seasons have we sat and watched the Bills do little or be unable to sign their own back. I give Whaley an incomplete. Lets see if this group he has assembled gets the job done.
  10. Fred is a great person and has been a great talent for the Bills. He has a little left in the tank. Maybe five touches a game and insurance if someone goes down. To think Fred can Handle 15-20 touches a game over 16 games is not realistic. Fred would tell you that i think. McCoy is the 15 touches guy with Brown and then Fred. Dixon will be more short yardage guy i think.
  11. my only thought is that he has played the same side as R. Incognito, maybe the Bills think he isn't suited to switch? We saw a dip in Urbik's performance when he switched sides. Just a thought.
  12. Thanks. Just when i think a Monday can't suck worse! ha
  13. Great point. Not to mention trying to find maybe 2-3 starters from this draft working on a rookie contract. Easier to find starters in rounds 1-3. It gets harder the later the rounds, obviously(as Marrone would say).
  14. I gotta agree with this. I think Whaley is having an inner battle with himself to when it comes to some of the talent he drafted last year. Kinda like 'well if a vet is available for the right price i will sign him, if not go to the draft and with the guys i have'. To me it is the last position needing an upgrade, but i also have no real insight on the second year guys or what Kromer and Roman feel they have there.
  15. Whaley wants him i think. Right now Whaley is focusing it sounds like on try to finalize the Dareus deal. I honestly think that has direct implications on being able to sign Evans. I gotta believe Whaley has the mindset of if Evans is there after Dareus is signed and we can make the numbers work, we will go get him. Time is only helping Buffalo right now.
  16. I will take a TE that is mentioned as a pro bowler or maybe an alternate. When is the last time the Bills had a TE in the pro bowl??? All kidding aside, Clay was the only one the Bills MAY have overpaid. I think maybe the FO also viewed it as a chance to weaken a divisional rival, that might of added a few extra dollars to the deal. The Hughes deal helped the Bills out big time as well as the Urbik taking a pay cut. The message that sent was i want to be in Buffalo. McCoy is a great pick up. What he provides in the locker room is also an added value to his dynamic play on the field. Harvin will be used all over the field and returning kicks. I think Roman will find a way to maximize his talent. Harvin WILL be on his best behavior. This is a one year deal. Look for Harvin also to take some kick returning duties. I think this was a well though out FA period. I think the Bills will make a move or two post draft. A cut here or there of a big salary ( C.Williams). Maybe an addition once other teams make a move. The greatest thing is having a group that likes working with each other and his on the same page. Owner FO Coaches this very well should translate into wins on the field because the talent is there and fits schemes.
  17. Atlanta is a young city that has been made up of mostly transplants. The sports teams have also been for the most part not very good due to poor ownership. Give the teams a few more years and another generation being born in the city and growing up watching them. Falcons will get a fine and a draft pick taken away, most likely in 2016. That is my prediction. Probably something similar for the Browns.
  18. this plus it takes a year or two for some guys to develop. I remember watching Bradham in the SF game his rookie year running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Bradham just did not know where to be to make the play. He would be in the right spot some of the times and he would lay a hit on someone. Glad he has figured out the mental side of the game. This is exactly what the Bills need from picks made in the mid rounds of the draft.
  19. His wife makes him. Is the table for 1st and 10 available? I think that will be much more telling. Pass vs Run. YDS gained on Pass Vs Run on 1-10. etc....
  20. Great article. The thing that sticks with me is that Bradham needed a few years to develope, like most mid-later round guys (4-7). Brings some optimism to the Oline question.
  21. They drafted three guys last year. Henderson will be better and one of the other two will step up. Urbik back at RG will help his game. I doubt oline is as big a problem as some of you think.
  22. I read it. I am not talking about just the article.
  23. I think we are all going to realize Rex likes to say things he doesn't think all the way threw sometimes. He does this a lot when happy i think. Right now Rex is looking at his roster and thinking my GOD what a team. He knows Roman will maximize talent on the offense. Rex knows his QB is unproven and thus wants to protect his weakness by playing to his strengths.
  24. Ask yourself this did any of those players suffer an injury which took away a key element of their game? RG3 has not been the same since the playoff game against Seattle. He has looked timid and honestly very much like EJ. If you want to swap EJ for RG3, ok, i do not see any harm with that. But throwing in a pick is not necessary.
