Rd 3, Pick 89 (25): LB Terrell Bernard, Baylor
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was joking, some people might see LB and 3rd round and think it has something to do with Edmunds. -
I hear what you are saying and maybe Beane will take a different approach after Wildgoose and Anderson were plucked off the PS last year. Beane after last draft said he liked having late round picks because it was difficult to get UDFAs to come to Buffalo. Those guys get to pick where they go and usually try to see a path to the roster, hard to do in Buffalo.

I was kidding… -
Moss needs to stay out of the kitchen and tag-a-long to the workouts Cook and Singletary are attending.

Couple of thoughts come to mind as I read those reports and watch film. Can he transition to that strong safety role? Seems like what he does well would only increase from playing off the ball more. I listen to Joe Marino of LockedOn Bills religiously and wonder if maybe he was on to something regarding personnel and stoping the run for 2022. Seems to me Bernard is one of those guys who has a great deal of flexibility and doesn’t tip the D’s hand at what scheme they are running. -

That is usually what happens -
The Jets have had a nice draft. I am just not sure about the coach or QB for them. If you tools the Chiefs coach and QB and paired it with the Jets picks, now I would be concerned. Nothing about the Chiefs standouts out as excellent. Skyy Moore is a nice fit for them, other than that I’m not impressed.

He does look like he could be insurance for Poyer. -

I wonder how that RAS projects for safeties. -

Well this pick should help calm speculation of what the Bills are going to do with Edmunds. -
Rd 2, Pick 63 (31): RB James Cook, Georgia

This is exactly what we need for the offense. As a UGA fan you guys are going to love this pick. -
Interesting take. Gabe Davis was able to see the field his rookie year with 3 vet starters on the roster. Not saying the Bills don’t take an IOL in the second, but I see a tougher path for any OL to crack the starting lineup or contribute this season without a serious injury. Beane will find us a great player in the second. Whoever he takes will probably be a rotational player to start the year and have his role increase into eventual starter when some of the one year signings leave.

Everything I read and watch shows he has great instincts. He is a well rounded athlete and played WR in high school. He also cracked the books at UF. I will admit I hadn’t done a ton of research on him till a few days ago and then post pick last night. Sounds like a great fit for the Bills.

Trent McDuffie - CB to Chiefs

So with their two first round picks the Chefs took Tarron Johnson and AJ Epenesa? And gave away picks. I can live with that. -
Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal

This staff made Wallace serviceable, Just think what they should be able to do with Elam. -
He just isn’t a good talent evaluator. Pro or college. Brady made Belichick, not the other way around.

I go back and forth when it comes to defensive players and what I think Beane will do. In one regard, history says they won’t draft a DB high, however Beane has shown he will adjust his philosophy. The main reasons he might go DB higher is because of Poyer and White, not to mention your CB2 for the last 3 seasons leaving.

I wonder if one of the vet available options Beane likes sign between now and the draft. It’s a risk/reward game for the player. If you like Buffalo but want more money, you can wait till after the draft and IF Buffalo didn’t find a CB they valued maybe you get the extra million a year. Or the alternative happens, Bills get a player or two they like in the draft and stop calling.

Anytime someone randomly quoted a TLC song I think of the movie The Other Guys with Wahlberg and Ferrel. Pretty funny movie. Draft no for me in the first round is Hall or any RB this year. None are dynamic and worth a first. I wouldn’t mind IOL but not Linderbaum, although he is a wrestler from Iowa, something McD may like; his size is a concern. Small guy with small arms.
