This is a great point. I also think the NFL has evolved from the day of having a #2 WR. I like having a good WR, good TE, and a back that can catch the ball. Couple those 3 with some solid WR's on the roster who can catch the ball, and I think you are good. It seems what happens is a teams #2 WR option gets signed away by another team after his rookie deal to be a #1. Draft guys or find them on other teams practice squad, develope and move on.
