I am starting to wonder if Gilmore isn't a bigger issue. Gilmores play has been inconsistent this. Darby has not progressed. It seems the entire defensive backfield has regressed. Even when A. Williams was in there, things looked muddled. This very well maybe connecting dots, but if guys aren't buying into Rex's scheme it doesn't work. We have seen the huge improvement the front seven has shown this year over last. A ton of this has to do with FA pickups and rookies. Players who did not have an entire season to learn the system. I do not let Rex off the hook either if players aren't buying in. Part of the coaches job is to get that done. If Gilmore is set on leaving and also doesn't respect Rex, that's easy to see how it could bleed into other areas . Specifically with the DB's where Gilmore is seen as the best talent for that position.
