  1. Didn't Berman coin the phrase ' no one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills'? Berman is a part of the Bills 80's and 90's success. We would go to a local sports bar to watch all the games. I would then go home and watch Primetime to see all the highlights and watch what our upcoming opponent had done. Sorry guys, say what you will about him, but Berman will be interwoven with some very special times for me in Bills history. His bit got old for sure, but it was great . Thanks Berman for fond memories!
  2. What a difference a year makes. Last year Shannahan passively aggressively alienated Roddy White. Matt Ryan didn't have anything bad to say about Shanny but also didn't have much nice to say. Shanny was viewed by many as the single biggest reason why the Falcons went 6-10 last year. Now everything is working great, mostly because Matt Ryan has figured out the O and has tremendous play makers. Ryan is also a top 5 QB who is not relying on Julio Jones to bail him out as much. I listened to a lot of these Nationa media guys doing interviews on local sports talk about how Shanny was living off the coat tails of his dad. That in the NFL circles Shanny was seen as an arrogant guy . I don't think Shanny is going to be what you want in Buffalo.
  3. I remember it all to well. Sitting at home watching the game here in Atlanta. My dad at work calling every 10 mins for an update. What a game, what a day! It will be so sweet when the Bills get back there and win it all!
  4. I have to be honest i had not listened to Whaley's press conference. They played part of it today on Atl sports talk radio. He sounded bad. The entire situation sounded bad. It got me thinking if Whaley wants out. Could Whaley be making a case for why things are bad? He does a good job of distancing himself from the entire Rex decision. IF i was Whaley and had any hope of ever being a GM again, i would get out of Buffalo now. IF what Whaley said is true and the Pegula's and or Russ are this much involved, Whaley needs to move on. Take a step back to go to a winning organization in hopes of building back your reputation. I do not think Whaley is a fool. You do not get to where he is by being totally inept. One thing is for sure, the Pegula's are not looking good.
  5. Harbaugh is the choice for college coach to NFL. Bills need to develope a QB and win. Harbaugh does those things. But paying someone a ton of money doesn't mean they will do a great job.
  6. The word 'preliminary ' can mean anything. Whaley 'hey we are interested in resigning your client , possibly to a multi year deal' Alexanders agent 'we are open to hearing what you have to offer' Having said that, I would sign Alexander to a 2 year deal . Incentives based on D production . Alexander is a great character guy and solid ST'er. For those reasons he will find a home. If some team is willing to throw a boat load of money at him and disregard his age, the Bills should shake his hand and say thank you for what you have done.
  7. This is a different view for sure. I think it has to do with the emphasis placed onhigh school football in the south. Weather can play a role in any game. i don't think it is entirely unrealistic to think a Big 10 school would have a better chance of winning in the snow. I do think if you look on a lot winning college programs you will find a majority of players from the south and California.
  8. Gotta agree with some of what Bart said. Good thing is the D will get to prove themselves next year. Or will we hear that a new DC with a new scheme is why they are under performing? As for Marcel and the Rex D, the one guy's opinion I would like is KW. KW has been very quite, I feel like he was more vocal when Freddie was here.
  9. No way. Look, the Offense has play makers all over it and a solid line. Ask yourself this question, when McCoy had that scare in the SF game, did you think 'there goes the season'? You know why, because you knew and so did i, that Taylor can not carry the team. Taylor was holding this team back, he has for two years. It is not Taylor's fault, he is not a bum or a bad guy. Taylor just is not what the Bills need at QB with the weapons they have. The Bills would be better served with an aging vet who still can make all the throws but may be done in 2-3 years. If the Bills could somehow do what The Cards did a few years back when they found Palmer and resurrected his career, we would be fine.
  10. The problem is that these guys let their personal opinion get in the way of how they played. Many of us see it on a smaller scale in our work places. An employee doesn't agree with management. Instead of sitting down and working through things, the employee does passive aggressive things to show displeasure. We all got to see poor tackling defenders out of place and sometimes juts not trying. Sad when you consider what they get paid.
  11. With the weapons and line on Offense, a competent quarterback will win. There is so much talent on this team. Yes they need safety help and RT help. I am for Lynn as HC, if Whaley likes it. Get a good DC and TT or a Kyle Orton type QB, this team wins 10 games.
  12. Quinn was a giant joke in Atl. Still is with all his sayings and such. Since Quinn is winning all is well. Once Quinn starts losing, he will be an easy fire. No thanks to Bradley, cast off HC to assistant coaches is a one way ticket South.
  13. That is about as Dbag looking picture you could find of him. His own mother might want to punch him if he made that face at her!
  14. Woods didn't enjoy playing with EJ.
  15. If Whaley stays on he sold Pegula on letting Whaley pick the coach. Whaley will mortgage his career on this next coach. He asked for 2 seasons under the coach he picks. Whaley told Pegs I will have the Bills in the playoffs by 2018 or I will quite . Theory. Personally I want to see what Whaley does. I think Whaley is a good GM that is learning and getting better every year. Pegula and Brandon need to stick to the business side and let Whaley do his job.
  16. This is a big ' get out of here and take your brother with you'. Rex wanted to win but just didn't know how to do it.
  17. When you ignore a problem and let it fester it sometimes comes to a head at the worse time. Carpenter has been very inconsistent for two seasons. Today it cost the Bills the playoffs. Rex and Carp hit the road. Take the ST coach with you.
  18. My hope is that we end up with three first round quality players out of the 2016 draft in Ragland, Washington, and Lawson. I have two thoughts when it comes to Lawson. First the injury and coming back from it takes time. I look at Vic Beasley in Atlanta for how tough it is for a healthy rookie pass rusher to make an impact. My second, and pessimistic thought is, I hope this doesn't turn into a Hardy and Johnson situation. The later pick turns into the productive player. Granted Hardy had issues off the field which most likely led to his down fall. Ultimately I think you have to wait till the second season on D Lineman to make an educated judgement to what you have.
  19. Injuries are part of the game right? Conduct , is at times a by product of leadership.
  20. This is one of those stats that I see and for a second I think ' maybe Taylor isn't that bad'. Then I read more and remember what I know 'Taylor isn't the answer'.
  21. Prescott is better than Taylor.
