It is rare(if ever) that a QB flies up draft boards due to the combine or private work outs. Can anyone think of an example? This is why you rarely see QB's that are seen as first round talent partaking in the combine. There is nothing to gain and every think to lose due to injury.
-
You missed the point of my post, or i did not do a good job explaining myself. Post season work outs and combine workouts should not turn a quarter back into a top 10 draft pick. QB is one of the few positions on the football field where combine or work out numbers really do not matter a lot. Study tape, talk to people that know the prospect, and then talk to the player(which every team has already done on every QB in college that has any talent).
-
Gosh i hope the Bills do not decide after these things on if they should take a QB in the top 10. To me if a QB is worthy of a top 10 pick it is due to his portfolio of work on the field. The work outs favor a QB that might not of been drafted or drafted late. These are the Qb's we watch being selected in the 3,4,or 5th rounds. To answer the question- If TT is back i think the Bills wait and try to find a value guy later in the draft or roll with Cardele and TT and find a Vet 'ham and egger' type later.

This was exactly what I thought when I looked at that first post attempt...classic

Oh man, i suffered a lot of heart ache during the 90's being a Bills and Braves fan. Atlanta is coming along as a sports city. I want to see where Atlanta is in 30 years from now. I think the Falcons winning a Super Bowl this year will help them grow the fan base a ton. The nice weather and the fact that it is a city of transplants has stunted the growth for awhile. As this generation born here in the 80's and 90's begins to make money and support the teams i think things will change.
-
What is your perspective of Atlanta? The local sports talk guys had Dan on the radio on Tuesday. They actually did a good job of ripping him apart and making him look really foolish and lazy.
-
I am sensing some sarcasm here. Julio is a gamer, i am sure he already knows about this. I do think it is a little premature to draft the great WR without a true NFL caliber passing QB. See what the Lions did during the 90's and into the 2000's. Which does not apply here because Ryan is a good to great QB.

Falcons are going to win this game. Only thing that derails them is Mack getting hurt early. I am thinking 34-21 Falcons.

McDermott just came from Carolina where he watched Newton as QB. McDermott may believe that the team he has in Buffalo is as good talent wise as what he witnessed in Carolina. Taylor is not terrible. Taylor needs confidence and a staff that can build him up. Taylor has the arm strength and talent to be a complimentary piece ala Manning in his last season with Denver. If McDermott can get the team to 'buy in' than Taylor is enough to win and make the playoffs and maybe more.

You do realize this is Quinn's 3 Super Bowl in 4 years?Quinn is 4-1 in Super games or playoff games with a bye. Belichik is 13-3.
-
I was at the game. I could of sold my ticket for $2,000. I thought about it as i was a senior in H.S. I wanted to see the Bills more than the money. I buried my dad. The man sent me to three Super Bowls, and got me started on the Bills. I finished HS, College, opened a business. Got married and divorced and engaged now. No kids yet, i hope that is the next chapter. Ready to pass down being a Bills fan to a son or daughter. Even though my fiance says no way.

Team with the most cast offs in the Super Bowl???

How did i forget Mack. he is probably one of the main reasons for the Falcons resurgence. -
The Fix, get er done.

Romo is so tough to say yes or no to. He is not like Drew Bree's was leaving SD. Romo has a chronic back issues. Every QB is going to take a hit, a big one during the year. When ,not if , that happens Romo has a better then 50% chance of not playing for awhile. Games . The Glenn to RT would solve that problem if Glenn will do it. I like that idea. -
Chiefs WR coach = Bills QB coach
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The theme for McDermott has been surround himself with experienced coaches has had prior knowledge of working with. Let's hope it translates into a great working relationship which in turns means a wel coached team that wins games. -

Gabriel was cut by Cleveland and has excelled in Atlanta. Gabriel is everything the Bills wish Goodwin could be. Some of this is timing and some is culture. -
Falcons..Put up or shut up

I think the Falcons have a real shot at it. They have a ton of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. If anyone can figure out how to stop it , Belichik is the one. The Falcons D has been playing very opportunistic football for the past 2 months. Take away margin has been huge in the Falcons favor. The only thing that can stop Atlanta is itself. I am hoping everyone behaves themselves over the next two weeks, stays focused and ready to play. No night before the game arrests like in '98. Matt Ryan needs to play within himself. Ryan has Freeman and Coleman and a strong o line to pound it if BB tries some funky fronts. It is going to be a very good game i think. I could see it being close and low scoring for the first half, neither team getting over 15 points. -
What does that mean?
-
Bill Belichik with two weeks is scarry. Belichik will try and find the Falcons center point and take it away. I just don't know if the Falcons have one player you can key on. Besides Matt Ryan there is not one indespensable player on O. Julio is good, but so his Sanu, Gabriel, Robinson, Coleman, Freeman, and the TE's. The game will be close. I don't see the Falcons getting blown out. Quinn needs to reach out to his friends on Seattle for some tips. I want to see how the line moves over the next week.

Awesome! So pumped for the Falcons and the city. Atlanta has a good shot at to beat the Pats because they do so much great. Give BB two weeks though and he is dangerous. -
I don't want to say I started this, but...

The Falcons are playing as good of football as anyone right now. Matt Ryan will be the MVP. Ryan's Weapons on O- Julio , Sanu, Gabriel(what we hoped Goodwin could be), Robinson, Freeman, Coleman, and the kid Hooper at TE has come on. Alex Mac was the best FA signing last year. Mack solidified the O line and has made LeVitre look like he did in Buffalo. The D has come together and played average to good football over the last 5 games. This is all a team needs on one side of the ball when the other is putting up historic numbers. Beasley, Freeny are providing pass rush. The D is playing that fast fly around make a play D. A Seattle light D. Falcons are missing a couple of pieces but they are getting there. Give it a year and this unit could be close to the O side. Scary thought. Matt Bryant has been money in the Dome. The Falcons have as good a shot as any of the othe 3 teams of winning it all. Two hottest teams will be playing in ATL this weekend. It will be a great game to watch. Green Bay always has a shot with Rodgers. I felt better about Atl going to Dallas. I watched Dallas get pressure on Rodgers, Atl can and needs to all day. Why the hate on Ryan? People said the same things about P. Manning till he won one. I know, because I was one of them. Ryan is a very controlled emotions guy. As far as anyone left 'deserving' to win it , I'd say Ryan is the best candididate. Name me one personal blemish on Ryan? If you don't like the guy, ask yourself why? Maybe that says more about you than him. People bag on Atl fans and the teams all the time. It is annoying really. If you lived in Atl you would understand. This city is a fairly new city. It is a melting pot that exploded in the 80's and 90's. It is still growing so fast. The transplants brought the allegiance to their old city's team with them. I am seeing a lot more second generation Atliens becoming true Falcons fans and Hawks fans. Braves are solid and have been for a long time. Soon enough the talking heads at ESPN like Linda Cohn(still think she looks great) will have to pick on another city. -
Olsens resume is not inspiring . He has never been to the playoffs as an OC or QB coach over that past 16 years. As far as I went back. Him and the Bills are due? This has me fearing what we Bills fans have watched for years. We don't get good play from both sides of the ball. You either have to be a top 5 offense with a mediocre D to have success, ala the Falcons. Having a great D with a bad offense just doesn't work. Ask the Texans.

Is our OC still in playoffs?

I was wondering the same thing. I think our Cord is or recently was a coach in the playoffs. We will find out soon who he is. -
