Super Bowl Predictions and Prop bets
atlbillsfan1975 replied to CommonCents's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The lynchpin of the Falcons offense is Alex Mack. How does Belichik take him out? Mack has been getting over the ankle sprain from the championship game. Other than a dirty play, or freak accident there is now way to scheme how to take out a center. For the last two weeks the message has been the same. The only way the Falcons lose this game is if they beat themselves. Belichik knows that if the Falcons play their best game and the Pats play their best game the Falcons win. Belichik knows he has to make the Falcons beat themselves. That is the genius of Belichik. Belichik never has the best team, but has has every player on the same page believing. Problem is, I think Quinn does too. Belichik isn't going against a Mike Martz coach who was an ego maniac with the greatest show on turf. Quinn and Shanny are focused and able to adjust. Houston is pro Atlanta. Turf, indoors all speak to Atlanta. Pats can't rough up receivers like they did to the Rams. Falcons win this one big time. We look back in 5 years and it is the beginning of the end of the dynasty. Pats are overrated and we as Bills fans know it. Our offense shredded them. The Bills offense!! The Pats are a physical D playing against an offense that is to fast in a league that caters to speed and not physical play. Falcons 38 Pats 23. -
Vick was arguably the fastest man to ever play football. He got around the corner when you thought there was just no way. Vick could go from stop to top speed in 3 steps, that's impressive. Vick led his team to the playoffs and won in Green Bay in the WC round of the playoffs. It was the first time Green Bay ever lost a home playoff game. The Falcons never had a great D while Vick was in Atlanta. Vick was a highly inconsistent passer. Roddy Whites career really took off once he had a true passing QB in Ryan throwing to him. Taylor is more likable and more consistent at being average. I'd take Vick and a dominant D and ride that train all the way to the Super Bowl Ala Kappernick 2012.

Totally disagree. He gets the most out of what he has. -

OMG . You have never struck me as a portly fella, but... just kidding. This sounds amazing and a very good blend of some Italian heritage and some traditional tailgate fare. Very nice!! -
He got hurt playing behind one of the better o lines. The Bills line is good to. No line is sack proof. Romo is one hit away from being done. If he does play for the Bills it will come in week 10 after they started 9-1. Lose the next 6 and miss the playoffs. Joking.

Kelly is the only QB on the list w/o a SB tittle or the MVP honor. That is kind of impressive that Clayton put him on there. Kelly typically does not get that kind of National attention.

Would You Take a Flyer on Victor Cruz?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Atlanta isn't going to invest that money on a third option. If Atl wins the Super Bowl they will have to pay some of their own guys. Woods could put up those numbers with the Chargers. As for Cruz, I don't think he is what the Bills are looking for. -
The man reversed the surgery because he had not been successful since he was over weight. if that does not tell you the mindset of the guy nothing will. He was grasping at straws, Rex is a great motivator when everyone is listening. People began to realize Rex was in over his head, and when that happened he lost important people. Good luck Rex. I wish you the best. You tried and you failed, but you tried.

If the line moves to 3.5 people will jump on the Falcons. The Pats and the points is due to tradition and less to do with this year. If the season's were reversed the Pats would still be the favorite.

49ers hiring John Lynch as GM
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He always had great points of view during games. Seems clear and level headed and understands the game. His success will depend on what or who surrounds him. I can envision Lynch being pretty good at talent assessment and working with coaches and team officials. Lynch will have a severe learning curve when it comes to cap issues, and such. -
why? what does this even mean?

Sorry, but I'm still going to miss Hogan
atlbillsfan1975 replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Pats did what you do when you have a great QB. They found the weakness in Pitts game plan and exploited it. That's what makes BB and Brady so gosh darn good. Hogan is an average player that has arguably the greatest QB throwing him the ball. Hogan will have good games with NE. Does anyone see Hogan going for 1000 yards and 8 touchdowns? -
It is rare(if ever) that a QB flies up draft boards due to the combine or private work outs. Can anyone think of an example? This is why you rarely see QB's that are seen as first round talent partaking in the combine. There is nothing to gain and every think to lose due to injury.
-
You missed the point of my post, or i did not do a good job explaining myself. Post season work outs and combine workouts should not turn a quarter back into a top 10 draft pick. QB is one of the few positions on the football field where combine or work out numbers really do not matter a lot. Study tape, talk to people that know the prospect, and then talk to the player(which every team has already done on every QB in college that has any talent).
-
Gosh i hope the Bills do not decide after these things on if they should take a QB in the top 10. To me if a QB is worthy of a top 10 pick it is due to his portfolio of work on the field. The work outs favor a QB that might not of been drafted or drafted late. These are the Qb's we watch being selected in the 3,4,or 5th rounds. To answer the question- If TT is back i think the Bills wait and try to find a value guy later in the draft or roll with Cardele and TT and find a Vet 'ham and egger' type later.

This was exactly what I thought when I looked at that first post attempt...classic

Oh man, i suffered a lot of heart ache during the 90's being a Bills and Braves fan. Atlanta is coming along as a sports city. I want to see where Atlanta is in 30 years from now. I think the Falcons winning a Super Bowl this year will help them grow the fan base a ton. The nice weather and the fact that it is a city of transplants has stunted the growth for awhile. As this generation born here in the 80's and 90's begins to make money and support the teams i think things will change.
