"Keep it Simple" new rallying cry for 2017 defense
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense to me is about each defender knowing their role during a called set. Defenders by nature like to think less but attack and react more. Moving defenders all over the place is very complicated to learn and takes away from the ability to attack and react to some degree. The less a defenders worries about his pre snap positioning the easier it should be to get off the ball. I don't think the quote means the Bills will be running base defenses. I do think it means the D will be a bit more streamlined. Less pre snap movement is ok. It is about mixing it up at the right time . That's what makes a D good for me. When to blitz and when to stay back. Knowing the opposition and having the right D ready for the game. -
Bills scouting staff now finalized

This seems a little like what the Falcons have done with their front office of late. Brought in guys who maybe held a higher position at one time to fill a specialty fit area. -
Joe B: What Brandon Beane wants in a QB

I want to believe this. I have seen little evidence that supports it. -
HOF player with worst teams in NFL history
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jeff Van Note comes to mind for the Falcons. Jeff isn't in the HOF but deserves to be. He played center on some terrible Falcon teams for 18 years. He only missed four games and has 6 pro bowl appearances. -
Predictions for Next Year's Super Bowl?

Things were pretty bad around here for the first week. Atlanta does not have the multi generational fan base like the Bills, so it didn't last as long. -
Predictions for Next Year's Super Bowl?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the Falcons were not going to be very good last year. IF anyone can get his team back and ready to play it is Quinn. By all accounts they lost basically nothing from last year and added some very good pieces in the off season, Poe being one. Falcons will also be getting their best corner back from injury. Atlanta is a lot like Buffalo, when you think they will be good they usually are not. From that perspective i agree anything is possible. Barring a Matt Ryan or Julio Jones ( to lesser extent) injury, Falcons should be a 10 win team and compete for the SB. Atl vs Buffalo would be awesome. I think Atl vs NE is very possible. -

How is Atl in trouble? If anything they got better. Are you saying other teams are better? -

Wow, we can turn on each other with the best of them. -

I wonder if anyone in the Buffalo media will get a chance to ask Allen his thoughts on that move from a talent perspective. -
Not sure Darby actually fits this system?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ajmac's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just when i am ready to write off the board until late July, you post something like this, and pull me back in! I agree Shaq and Ragland could be good fits. I like your thoughts on Darby. He seemed to excel his rookie year in tight quarters. If Darby 'struggles' at all it is on deep routes where he seems to get lost. Darby likes to be tethered to his man. -
No sure fire Franchise QB's in 18' draft class
atlbillsfan1975 replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Long way and lots of games to play between now and next draft. The last 'sure fire' qb was who? Andrew Luck? That was 5 years ago. -
Expectations for Shaq Lawson?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I swear I watched Lawson display a good bit of hustle last year once healthy. I am really excited to see Lawson out there. Players who can play will find a spot, that's where a good coach comes in. -
To the man who made those fall Sunday's in the late 80's and into the 90's special. I am sad to hear the news of your wife's passing. As other Bills fans have stated, you have always flown your Bills flag high and proud! When one of ours hurts l, we all hurt! May you find comfort in the 33 years you had together and the knowledge you will see each other again!

2018 NFL Mock Draft: Bills land QB

Good article on Bills front office purge
atlbillsfan1975 replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last off season everyone in Atl wanted Dimitrofs fired. This year it is all about how Quinn and Dimitrof Work so well together. I hope we can find that tandem that can work like that together . That's what it takes. A coach that can explain the type of players he needs and a GM who can find them. Then let the coach coach. -

Mel Kiper grades Bills as top 5 draft
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Larry Playfair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok. So what if we did? Woods was a hard worker but never amounted to all that much, mostly because of injuries. Gilmore was good. Gilmore would make a great play but he also made some terrible ones. I am glad i will not have to see Gilmore looking at the JumboTron acting like someone blew the coverage, besides him. Here is to hoping we get two young guys who step in and play as good as the two we lost. Here is to hoping we turn those two picks next year into a franchise QB for years to come. I will take a little Kiper love. Maybe he is right about the bills drafts. Since the Bills have not made the playoffs in forever! -
Gotta agree OP! I like what the Bills are doing. I like having two picks next draft. The Bills have been stuck in draft purgatory in regards to QB because they have been just good enough to miss. The extra pick next year and maybe even throwing in your next years first would seal the deal with any team.

RD 2, Pick 37: Zay Jones (WR) - ECU

Zay it forever -
Funny you say that. McKinley talked about how he and his grandma would watch wrestling together and Booker T was his favorite wrestler. I think the kid will do just fine. He will experience some rookie growing pains. I am sure a few O- Linemen will straighten him out in camp. Quinn loves guys like this. I think McKinley fits the high tempo athletic guy the Falcons want on D.
