what makes you say that?

I am not going to claim to be an expert on coverages. I played Oline into college and cover 2 vs cover 1 vs cover 3 etc always confused me. I can say that I watch a good bit of college and pro football. It appears Gilmore is the victim of a break down in communication of coverage more than the average DB. I really don't get why this happened while he was in Buffalo and now in his first game w NE it has occurred. Gilmore is long and fast and has everything you want in a top end CB. BB broke the bank because he sees the window closing. I don't believe Thursday is the nail in the coffin for the Pats dynasty. The Pats won't go down without a fight. When the slide does happen let's hope it's a fast one that opens the door to every other team.

I think once you are able to get some sleep, things will seem more manageable and some perspective will come into focus. A football forum isn't where I go for my news on life or death matters. -
Very strong mauler type. He looks like he is still developing as a pass blocker. His footwork on setting and engaging passrushers needs to improve. He will be used in sub packages for short yardage. Let's hope he can get better with coaching and playing time on he pass blocking.

Whoa. I don't think anyone in their right mind would put up a stat showing a 21 out of 32 ranking and say 'see he is elite'.

McD and Beane/ Do you trust them?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fact that so many of you dislike what they are doing gives me hope. The Bills are not going to be good this year most likely. Three years. Let's see where they are in 2020. After hearing where and how these two guys started in the League, they are going to figure it out. Pegs has to be patient. They will make mistakes but they are smart and humble and will learn from them. These two men have been successful and will be successful in these roles. I hope it's with the Bills. -

Interesting take, I never thought of it in those terms. Whay approach do you like to see you GM take for talent acquisition? As for MCDermot and Beane, why not let them try? Look they have acquired draft picks for the next draft to help them build. They have traded and removed or released players that they felt were not in the long term plan. They made none of these moves to save money for the owner but to give themselves ability to spend where needed when needed. This is a three year process . This is how it was done 15-20 years ago to really fix teams. The coach and GM are not dumb. They know the Bills don't have talent to beat the greatest coach and QB combo in the history of the game. I think this is going to be a tough year to watch . I also think this is the beginning of something good. -
is jonathan williams next? - update: now cut

You skipped a lot of letters to connect those dots OP. The coach and GM are going all in on fixing an issue and trying to get a team out of playoff hell. Who cares if they stink this year, the Bills have stunk for 17 years really. Cutting or trading the backup RB isn't going to be the move that brings home the Lombardi Trophy. -
Do you try to get Hundley this year?

Dareus sent home for violating a team rule

Let's see why he was late. Put down the pitch forks. Marcel needs to be a pro. If Marcel had an emergency arise he needed to notify the team immediately. -

I hope it is for something like being late or missing a meeting. No more drug related incidents, please. We need Marcel, he is so talented. I really hope he can put it together for himself and our sakes as fans. -
I got invited to the Tenn vs Ga Tech game on Monday night. It's not FSU vs Bama but will be a nice way to get acquainted with the Stadium before Oct 1st.

2016 TALENT VS. 2017 TALENT
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Bills Pimpin''s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regular season will show who is for real. It appears that those who are positive and negative in regards to this years talent all agree that DL is better. This will make everything better on D. Glenn it appears is the biggest concern for me. If he plays and the Oline plays better , this could be a fun season to watch. I have zero expectations for this season. New coach and new GM and new approach. Let's give it 3 years. -
Complete the tank, McBean. Do it.

I look at it as realizing where the team is and having a strategy of where they need to be. I think Beane and McDermott have been given 3-5 years to show what they can do. I want to see a team fighting and improving week to week. Having said that IF you can get value for some Vets who want a chance to compete now because their window is closing then i am for trading them. I think Beane will listen to trade talks about every single player on the roster right now. I think Beane would do whats best for the organization first, then the team, and then the player. Whaley knew the Bills were just mediocre and it is so hard to build when a team is mediocre. Suck up a down year for the future. -
As a Bills fan I want Mahomes to take Smiths job during the season. It would mean a better draft pick for the Bills.

Who's in line for a big year?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The QB situation in LA isn't any better than Buffalo. Not to mention the OLine and a first year HC younger than some of the guys he is coaching. As for the Bills Dareus steps back up and becomes a wild man. -
Culture - Do you believe in it?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes it does. Losing and winning is contagious. It's not some magical spell. It is however a way the operation operates that leads to one or the other! -
Yep. Whaley would of been better trying to trade up for an elite defender. Whaley realized that finding the QB is almost impossible to do unless you have the number one pick and a QB has to be there. Whaley was trying to make a great team around an average QB. Where Whaley slipped up was trading up for Watkins. While a great talent Watkins was not worth trading up when you are building a team. The move contradicts Whaleys approach kinda. Not sure why Whaley did it or IF it was his decision alone. Watkins is a great talent that wasn't being utilized to his fullest extent. I am not sure LA will be able to utilize Watkins to his full potential. I hope so for Watkins sake.
