I am not panicking right now. For me, this could possibly be best case scenario. If Pitt finishes with 6th seed they go to Baltimore. I like the thought of either playing a banged up Baltimore team at home, or Houston. Most likely the Bills will see Denver. I like our chances against Nix. After watching him in college for years, guy if 25, he will flash but also do some silly things.
-
That would be great. Another scenario would be for Pitt to lose next week against Cincy and either LA or Denver to win their next two games and finish at 5. Pitts vs Baltimore definitely leaves the winner more bearable for Buffalo. Think of how the KC vs Bills game of 2021 left KC depleted for the AFC championship game.

The Bills have their own things to consider, but so do the Chiefs. Do they give guys two weeks off with it now being a meaningless game next week?
-
At this point I think it’s about attention more than anything else. It’s a huge adjustment for all these guys to go from the adoration of millions, to a few. In Rodgers case, he doesn’t really have anyone…

Controversial opinion: Elam was pretty solid

He can’t find the ball. He has poor ball tracking abilities. He will be gone after the season. I saw today what the coaches see every practice.- 191 replies

Who has been the 2nd best Bill this season?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
We haven’t had a back like Cook since Thurman. Cook is more explosive than Thomas. This offense is different now that defenses must account for players all over the field who have the speed and elusiveness to break long runs either out of the backfield or after the catch. Benford is just below Cook for me. Benford is playing elite corner and will need to be prioritized in the offseason for an extension. Beane isn’t allowing both of the cornerbacks from that draft to leave the building after their rookie contract expires. -
It is tough to argue with this. Oliver running over Detroit’s center shows how when he turns it on, he can beat the best, if healthy. McD’s defense is so predicated on the d tackles, as they go this D goes. Even more so than the DE’s from what I have seen over the past several years.

To rest or not to rest the starters, that is the question

The Chiefs for sure can lose 2 of the next three. The next two for them with when they are scheduled is particularly tough. I can see them losing at least one of the next two. If I had to guess, McD will make everyone practice and prepare like they are playing the last game. The one seed seems to be a goal of this team. -
McD’s approach seems to be knowledge of system over talent.
-
All about game script, O needs to start fast and score early and often, don’t allow Detroit to dictate. I like to see how the D does in the first 15-20 snaps, if we can hold them to less than 7, it usually bodes well.
-
When is the last time McD benched a vet starter for poor performance in game? Honest question…
-
This is honestly the only reasonable explanation. I am hoping we see the reverse for him from years past. He turns it on in the playoffs and makes his presence known.
-
I liked them being referred to as the “Storm Trooper” combo.

So, here is the thing for me. I agree 100% that McD has a proven track record with defensive backs and how to elevate average to good and good to great. My confusion is how come he isn’t able to turn Elam into a serviceable backup at the least? I was able to understand that Douglas and Benford out played him, but now we are being told Ingram is better?
-
So McD can coach every DB up except the one he drafts in the first round…this just doesn’t make sense to me.

The root source of D problems is the D Line
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, for McD’s d to work the dline and in particular the interior dlinemen need to play good to great. We haven’t seen that at all this year. Edge has been good to great at times with Groot and Von playing the best. If someone doesn’t step up, it will come down to Josh needing to score 40 in the playoffs to beat someone, not every game. -
McD will be the scapegoat to hide the real issue this week
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Cray51's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD is reportedly great at reflecting and self evaluation. If this is true he will begin to realize the error in his ways and find some ways to correct it. I will say the effort yesterday by the entire defense looked poor for the first 3 quarters or so, like they had soaked in a little to much of the LA Vibes. When I see Groot being blocked by a WR something is wrong. -

Better hope we don’t see the Rams again. This is the exact team which destroys McD’s defense. Vet QB with enough talent left, excellent possession WR’s, and a mastermind offensive coaching staff. They will score 30+ every time. -
Week 14 - Bills at Rams Game Week Thread

I hear ya, and seeing what Samuel did in the KC and Indy game gave me hope he can be a good WR 4/gadget guy. I hope this is just precautionary. -

Aikman hates to be wrong, on draft night he spoke out against the Bills pick of Josh.

I think Hollins then goes back to gunner as he would fall down the WR depth chart.
