Good to know about the OP. anyone watching Allen can see he is already better than Tyrod at reading a defense. Allen also throws to players being open not waiting till open, another wonderful Tyrod trait we have been subjected too. Allen will need time to develop, but he is already a better quarterback than Tyrod is and Tyrod has maxed out his talents.

Why the Allen project may be different
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Batman1876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People who want to point out all Allen’s flaws and say he is a project need to remind themselves of some of the great quarterbacks and how they improved. Every great quarterback had some years that were better than others. Allen is going to be special. High wonderlic score, best physical attributes, and shows capability to receive coaching. That doesn’t mean he will be in Canton but I also don’t see him as a bust barring injuries. -

Long time between now and then. I agree this team is starting to come together to the point where on D they maybe a few players away from elite. -

Josh Allen - Game Film Links
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OP thank you for these films. I started watching some of them on Friday and Saturday and started to come on here to defend Allen. When i actually watched film for myself i knew the Bills got the right guy. Allen is someone Bills fans will love cheering for. The kid comes from a humble background, he has had to work his butt off for everything he has accomplished, and i see a willingness to learn. Please watch the game film from him at the senior bowl. You can see what a weeks worth of coaching and good WR talent can do for a young willing QB. Allen 100% can read defenses, Allen has a very nice play fake. The kid is very comfortable playing under center. I just do not see how some fans here want to compare him to any of the other QB's the Bills have missed on. When I watch the film I see Jimbo not EJ or JP. -

Not afraid at all. I asked questions. Everyone has them and is entitled to them. I just wonder why so many people live in fear. -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

I didn’t want Allen. Honestly. Told all my fellow Bills fans, anyone but Allen. Then the Bills picked him. I could care less about what they gave up to grab him, the Bills still walked away with a full drafts worth of picks. Since Thursday I have been reading and watching more and more about Allen. I now believe Allen is going to be good. I will also ask fans like you , why do you feel the need to say Allen is going to fail? Are you preparing yourself if he doesn’t? Is it a self defense coping mechanism to prepare for disappointment? You have mentioned in a few posts that Beane and McDermott have their head stuck in Carolina. Where do you think your head is stuck? I think it is in the past. You are drawing from past let downs maybe even times you did believe. Now you are too smart to let that happen. I’d ask you and all Bills fans to cheer our guy on. Loyalty is appreciated. -
Now let’s get Decker/Maclin
atlbillsfan1975 replied to QBorBust2018's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The biggest bonus for a Vet wideout is to have a strong leader in the group. Is Benjamin that guy? Having a seasoned pro who McDermott sees as having stron off field benefits couldn’t hurt . With new QB’s on the team having as many stable positive wr’s will help with the growing pains. -
Brandon Beane Approval Rating
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane just did what we have all been asking for , traded up to grab a Quarterback he likes. Beane also drafted the LB needed to run McDermott’s D. These were the two glaring areas of need. Beane then drafted Dirty Harry in the 3rd round, and a guard in the 5th. All the moves Beane has made starting with FA up till now, make sense. I’m not saying they will all pan out, but they make a ton of sense today. -
A Quick Note About Levi Wallace.....

I will take anyone from Bama or UGA as an UDFA signing. These players come from great systems and play against the best competitors each day at practice and in games. -

Congrats to the sentiment I am seeing here in response to the OP, it is time to stop living in the past. When we as a Bills fan base can try to move on from our past we have a chance to enjoy the future. -
Buffalo Buds Draft Grades

I’m pretty sure they’ve also missed on first round picks too. I can’t wait till they put the pads on. -
Wait we have a competent GM that’s going to state things the way it should be? If Allen is better than McCarron he will play? That is also up to the coaches?! Holy cow this sounds like how a team should run. Make no mistake Bills fans we have a real organization for the first time in years. Why play mind games etc with these guys?! If you are good you will play. If you show that competition brings out forward projection you will play. I am not going to say we as fans make or break outcomes of players. I am going to say it is time to bury the past and live in the now. Beane gets it. McDermott gets it. We need to get it.

How did Foster make the team?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kids looks very fluid in the drill from the combine. We can only hope he is a project that will progress. Saban like throwing the ball about as much as he likes talking with the media. I’m hopeful this kid just wasn’t given much opportunity. -
Thanks Metz for the write up. I read the entire original post before realizing it was done on the 16th. I am really coming around to Allen. Part because he plays for team I love, part because Beane and McDermott like him, and part because the more homework I do on him I think Allen has a real chance to be special. This write up helped. I knew the talent level was down in ‘17 verse ‘16 but didn’t realize how much. Allen has all the tools. We need coaches that can reach him and help bring out what he can be. I believe we have the right kind of coaches now that can do that. Just like Carroll played a huge roll in Wilson being who he is , McDermott holds to some degree that same responsibility for Allen’s pro future. McDermott gets what a privilege it is to lead these men and be a HC in the NFL. Excited for the first time in a long time about who we got at QB and where this team is going.

I am convinced some of our fans live in a fear based reality when it comes to the Bills. These fans are expecting the worse because they have experienced pain and have not let it go. These fans will struggle to accept and believe that good things will happen for the Bills. These fans will make themselves feel comfortable by bracing for disappointment over hoping for success. I hope Allen will be the QB we need him to be. The more I read about him the more I like him as a person. I think he will be just fine. Allen has the intelligence to figure it out and work ethic to put the time in to translate it to reality. I like the fact the Bills went for it. As Gretzky said ‘you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take’ .

Allen Over Rosen Reminds Me of

Are any of you involved with hedge funds? -
Flip side of that is Allen was the only NFL talent level player on his team. Wyoming had below average line play and wr play. When Wyoming went against power conference teams Allen tried to do all he could to win. I have no idea if Allen will be a good QB or not. I do know he has a ceiling much higher than any QB the Bills have had since Kelly. I would rather give him a chance since he is now the QB for the team I love. I don’t need to pretend to be an NFL scout or coach who spoke with the player and his coaches and his team mates etc. I will cheer him on and root for him. His success will add to my happiness. Why the heck wouldn’t I want to see him do well?
