Joe B: 2019 NFL Mock Draft No. 2
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Peace Frog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really hope they do not take a TE in the first. TE is a position they needs time to develope. Get a project guy later. I think they go D first because McDermott will not miss on the pick with his talent evaluation. Beane will check the player out on the personality side with coaches teammates etc. I think McDermott will get better at understanding his O needs. -
Which RB are we spending an early round pick on?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t see an early pick at RB. late round pick would be Elijah Holyfield out of UGA. Holyfield is intriguing to me. Rushed for over 1,000 yards for UGA. He was more of the heavy hitter back for UGA. -
Extending current players: Poyer/Hughes?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would not pick up Lawson's 5th year. I would sign Hughes to a solid deal. Hughes has not been hurt, and has very quietly turned into a leader on this team. Hughes has cut down on the emmotional outbursts. Love to see him here for at least another two years. In regards to Poyer i have to believe Beane relies on McDermotts evaluation on what he is worth. IF the Bills do not extend Poyer it would leave me to believe that McDermott believes he can replace Poyers production with a cheaper option. McDermott knows D backfield talent. -
Expected. Also opens the door for the young back to make the team.

I will buy you a beer if the Bills take a TE with either of their first two picks. I just do not see it happening. McDermott is getting D in round one for sure and most likely with the second pick. A trade up may occur and Bill get back into the second round if a TE they have with a first round grade slips, but i doubt it.

I think Allen has the right mix. Fitzie was a cerebral guy but lacked arm talent and crucial decision making at certain points. I think Allen has the smarts, talent, and belief in himself to be special. Only thing i can see derailing this kids career is injury. Allen can put the Bills on top like Favre did for the Pack.

Mcdermott's thoughts on Bills aging backfield.
atlbillsfan1975 replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can say this IF they do not draft a young guy OR they do not bring one in after cuts in preseason. The offensive line has alot to do with the running backs production. Not all of it. A few years ago LeSean showed why an elite running back is nice to have. If the line can open up holes a good back can get 4 yards a carry. I am less concerned about Gore and LeSean given the line moves made so far. I think Beane gets o play and i think McDermott is learning quickly. Daboll being around another season is also huge. Continuity right now with this young team should pay off. -
Great talent and played the part of meathead to a T. I don’t believe Gronk is as dumb as he acted.

Malcolm Mitchell retires
atlbillsfan1975 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is a great kid. I read a book that detailed his High School footballs team in Georgia. Knees were shot. Too bad. I don’t like the Pats but this kid was someone who personality wise deserved a better chance. Good luck and I know you will be successful at life Malcolm! -
Bills sign TE Jake Fisher to 1-year deal
atlbillsfan1975 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Be nice if he turns out to be the reverse Jason Peters! Some big big guys have great hands but their weight slows them down. 285 is still big enough to block DE and linebackers and he should be quick enough to get out for a catch or block DB’s. -
Shaq Lawson 5th year option
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Bleeding Bills Blue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spot on. A bad deal is a bad deal. Just because you have $100 in your wallet, you don’t buy a Big Mac for $25. Either work out a new contract or let him walk. Shaq isn’t worth $10 mil a year unless the contract has incentives and escalating clauses built in for playing time and performance. -

What is the amount for the option? -
Are you embarrassed to wear Bills gear?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everytime i wear Bills gear i get a 'Go Bills'. I was in Rome, Italy wearing my pullover and a guy stoped me and talked to me about the team. People love the Bills. When we are good again we will be supported by a ton of people. Football fans in their late 30's on up grew up watching the Bills being good. I think they are waiting for us to be good again. -
Need more context for why were the Bills furious. Who on the Buffalo staff was furious? Did the Bills try to trade with the Colts already? I don’t think IF someone was furious it was because they wanted Darnold. I believe the Bills had Darnold and Allen ranked pretty equally, albeit for different reasons. This article doesn’t state, nor should it, that the Bills were furious because they wanted Darnold.

With recent news, Is Sweat worth the risk?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Mat68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All depends on the condition and severity of it. Each team views things differently. IF it is a perceived as a possible life threatening issue by a team they will most likely remove him. Something that can hurt a career or make it shorter will cause a player to drop on a teams board. -
Hockenson at #9 Change My Mind
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be good with it. I am one of the fans we believes this admin knows what they are doing. I just don’t see them making TE a first pick priority. And I do think they will add another TE in the draft. -
Ryan Fitzpatrick to sign with Miami

We will get on of each. Let’s just hope Allen can beat him on Fitz’s ‘good day’. -
Hockenson at #9 Change My Mind
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be Fant. I am a Nauta fan out of UGA. I watched him play in high school and college. Heck of an athlete that had a bad combine. Bills could get him in the 3rd I think. Caveat to that is Belichick. Last year Belichick spent time at UGA during spring practice. Belichick has a good line of communication to Kirby Smart. -

This regime is not taking a TE at 9 or in the first round. That’s a good thing. -
I’m all in on Oliver if they stay at 9 and he is there. IF Oliver is there it is most likely because a quarterback or two i has been picked.
