It should have been a touchback...
John in Jax replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Said the same thing during the game, in the active thread. Also said that for all the times that the Bills have been royally screwed by the refs, it's just a start to getting back to the mendoza line. LOL Also, addressing ADawg's point: I don't think the ball ever broke the plane of the EZ, because it was at such a sharp angle at the pylon. It looks like he literally threw the ball at the pylon, from about 6 inches away. -
Another voice of reason enters the fray. Thanks for stepping up and not being afraid to take the insults & attacks from the "I have blinders on" crowd, for just stating the obvious.

Good, honest, accurate post. Glad the Bills won, but the truth "is what it is." Against a good team, the consistent red zone inepitude/settling for FGs will no doubt cost the Bills a loss (or losses). PS - You don't have to be "a troll", or "an idiot" to have an honest opinion in here. There's no need for name calling, and I hope the mods ban the name callers for a week or so.

Just got back home after watching the game at a sports bar.....I'm NOT an EJ basher, just a realist. Absolutely correct, and EJ has a BIG part in that red zone inefficiency. Again, absolutely 100% spot on. Anyone who disagrees with the above either has no football knowledge at all, or is just a blind "homer."

2nd Half Game Thread vs. Miami
John in Jax replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't believe the Bills actually got that TD call. The way I see it, Sammy fumbled it into the pylon...should have been Phish ball at the 20. I'll take it though... Bills are still way on the s**tty end of bad calls, cumulative wise. -
A good high schooler could have made that throw....

Nice dirt ball...

Run, run, pass?

Ok, so I can answer this one. ESPN had some guy on last night who they billed as their "NFL front office specialist", because he had some direct experience there. He said that Harbaugh is used to dealing with the media, Harbaugh is good at "holding off" the media, & Harbaugh is the face of the franchise to the media. And you know what? I did watch all of Harbaugh's little presser, and he did do a very good job with it. The other front office guys could have done no better, and they may have even made it worse by saying something stupid.

Of course I agree that what Ray Rice did in this situation was way, WAY out of line, and that he actually should have been charged with a felony.......BUT, this notion that "no man should EVER strike a woman" is ridiculous. There are PLENTY of woman in this country who could absolutely beat their man to death, if they chose to do so. Not ALL men are bigger/stronger than their SO. What about if you're attacked by one, OR MORE, beefy, crazed women? Should you just curl up in a ball, and get kicked/punched to death? What if your woman has a knife, or any other potential deadly weapon, such as a fireplace stoker, an iron, etc., and she's coming at you in an emotion-filled, crazed rush? Yes, USUALLY, men should not have to escalate their defense to kicks and/or punches, but this is NOT always the case. Just being real here.

Kyle Orton rumor [update : now signed]

What is "TC?" -
Nice read. Nice to read an uplifting story abut the Bills every once in a while. LOL

You are absolutely correct, and I think that anybody with even a modicum of NFL football knowledge realizes that currently, the Buffalo Bills' management team (including coaches) is the laughingstock of the league. Sad but true.

Hate to say it, but I agree 100%. I will also root for the Bills, 'til the day I assume room temperature.

Yesterday's Game (TB preseason) Blackout on NFL Network
John in Jax replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AT&T U-verse customer here. Was able to watch the game just fine on the NFL Network, right here in the west beaches area (Jacksonville). What I saw (from the Bills) was downright pathetic though. -

Anti Redskins Ad Airing During Primetime
John in Jax replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm gonna try this again, because it appears that someone deleted one of my posts from earlier today, btw, with NO reason given. You say this above, then cite surveys from strictly Indians. Do you see the problem? Are there any surveys of a cross section of ALL Americans that show how they feel? As I've stated many times now, an overwhelming majority of Redskin fans have no problem with it, the players have no problem with it, and of course you know how the owner/managers of the team feel about it. -
Anti Redskins Ad Airing During Primetime
John in Jax replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It may be an argument by a very small percentage of people, but the OWNER, and his players, and an overwhelming majority of Redskin fans, DO NOT see the team's name as "racist", or disrespectful, or insulting. Actually, THEY think it is honorable, good, and complimentary to native Americans, and THAT is their argument for keeping it. Do you really think that if some (legitimate) polls emerged that showed that a majority of Indians....let's say 60%....wanted to change the name, all of a sudden Redskin Nation & Snyder would just succumb? Get real. LOL The argument you cite above may be the argument of the PC crowd, liberal media hacks, and other NON-interested parties, but it IS NOT the argument (for keeping the name) of the group I cite above. Takes very little time & energy to post on message boards, or for those who are talking heads on TV, open their mouths and express an opinion. And I know of no one who is spending money "defending" this matter. They have a similar matter in much of the south, when it comes to the Confederate flag. And sadly, the small, vocal minority, and the liberals in power, are winning many of those battles too. They recently changed the name of a high school here in Jax, because people thought (and they were WRONG) that the person it was named for (Nathan B. Forrest) was a KKK founder. An overwhelming number of both alumni AND community members did NOT want the name changed, but the liberal school board administrators told them "eff you", we know what's best, and we'll do what we want. -
Anti Redskins Ad Airing During Primetime
John in Jax replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just a guess here, but I'd say your age is probably under 30. Of course, this whole matter is ABSOLUTELY due to political correctness run amok. Here in the USA, we have evolved into a pathetic, whining society, where tiny percentages of people are "offended" by WORDS or SYMBOLS, and somehow, some way, the majority of people who laugh & scoff at their being "offended", end up capitulating to these "offended" cry babies. For those of us over 40, it's a joke, but partly our own faults for not being strong and standing up to these ridiculous, idiotic, NON-IMPORTANT issues, and telling the "offendees" to FOAD, Get a Life, Grow a Spine, STFU, and Go Away. The reality is that you can ALWAYS find SOME people who are "offended" by a certain word or symbol. And oh btw, just like ghetto dwellers and rappers who use the N-word, as noted earlier, it's "OK" for Indians to use the "Redskin" term, right? Seriously, the time & energy & money wasted on this whole matter is mind boggling. -
Anti Redskins Ad Airing During Primetime
John in Jax replied to Doug Flutie Band's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For those of us who have NEVER watched even 5 seconds of Modern Family, don't read or watch ANY of the celebrity worship magazines or TV shows, and have NO idea what the show is about, please explain what you're talking about. Thanks. Also, political correctness has made this country much worse, in many different ways, than it was 30 years ago. And "PC" is exactly what's driving this whole "the name 'Redskins' offends me" movement. I hope to he!! that Daniel Snyder stays true to his word, and never changes the name.
