Kaepernick and the National Anthem
John in Jax replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Couldn't sleep, got up, checked this forum for FOOTBALL talk. Wondering WHY this post is still here, and hasn't been moved to the Politics, Polls, & Pundits sub forum. Moderators have the weekend off? LOL FWIW, Kap is a pampered Idiot who undoubtedly has no clue as to the truth of race issues and "oppression" in this country. -
Kaepernick and the National Anthem
John in Jax replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm LMAO here. I'm always amused when issues of race/politics/history come up in a place where they really have no business being. After reading through many (not all) pages filled with fallacious, ignorant, incorrect, and misinformed thoughts and statements about race/politics/history, I'll just say, STICK TO FOOTBALL TALK, please. Thanks. -
Mike Tirico leaving ESPN (update- Skip Bayless too)
John in Jax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember way back, when I was living in central NY and saw Mike Tirico on a local Syracuse TV station, doing the sports segments. Then when he got the job at ESPN, I scratched my head and said "Huh, who does he have naked pictures of?" LOL To this day, I have no idea how or why he has risen "to the top" of his career field. Put me down as not a fan of Tirico. LOL -
McCoy's nightclub fight and the ongoing investigation
John in Jax replied to lowghen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if they were off-duty, they probably didn't have their tasers/nightsticks etc., so they couldn't use "non-lethal" force. So looking back on it, those NFL guys are d**n lucky they didn't get shot! LOL -
The 2015 NFL season had the perfect ending...
John in Jax replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His knee was VERY close to being down before he crossed the goal. The fact is that often times thing happen so fast on the field, that even if an official is right there staring at it, he's not sure what he saw. But I do agree that the officiating is a joke. I used to just think that only subjective Pass Interference and Holding calls were ruining the game. NOW, I can add to that list: "Taunting" calls, Roughing the QB, & "Hitting a Defenseless Receiver". All three of the latter are also very subjective, and called wildly inconsistent from game to game....sometimes even wildly inconsistent IN THE SAME GAME by the same crew. LOL -
25 Years Ago Today The Bills Were Robbed Of SB XXV
John in Jax replied to PearlHowardman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not gonna go as far as PearlHowardMan, and say that the McKellar review is why the Bills lost the game....but I will agree with him that is was very fishy to review that catch. As I stated earlier though, the Bills' time management on that last drive was pretty bad, and if they were smarter about it, they should have been able to get 7-10 yards closer for Scotty. -
Bruce DeHaven Segment on CBS Sunday Morning
John in Jax replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw it live this morning. Was very, very surprised that there was not one mention of his time with the Bills. -
Getting a kick out of some of the inaccurate replies in here. OF course, this ONE-OF-A-KIND recording is much different than the weak analogies that have been offered up in this thread. Also, before I even read the post above about the "new" article, my 14 year-old daughter could have told me that the guy could sell it to whoever he wants to. The copyright, and the warning that is spewed out for just about all broadcast sports events, is meant to prevent REBROADCAST or retransmission. Selling it is NOT rebroadcasting it. And if he conducted the sale "in private", to another "private buyer", how would the NFL even know about it?

I think you're on to something here. I played Little Loop football in the southtowns, then went on to high school football, and even played some soccer. Then later in life, went on to do some Muay Thai training/sparring. My noggin has taken a lot of hits, for sure. So yeah, I'm probably right there with OJ....LOL

25 Years Ago Today The Bills Were Robbed Of SB XXV
John in Jax replied to PearlHowardman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This had me yelling at the TV that night, and still irks me 25 years later. LOL I also thought that the clock management was terrible on that final drive, and they could have, and should have, gotten at least about 7-10 yards closer, in order to give Scotty an easier kick. -
Belichick coached his team out of the superbowl

Really? So lots of people were paying those outrageous airline wi-fi fees? Surprised at that. -
AFC Championship: Pats** at Broncos
John in Jax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think they do, since they throw about 90% of the time. -

John in Jax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree. DVRd it, and watched all of their replays...NOT one replay had the camera angle exactly on the line of the throw (exactly parallel), so how could they possibly overturn it!? Oh, wait, Kraft and the Pats. LOL -

Proud to say that I did not watch ONE minute of any pre-game coverage. LOL Came in from cleaning my truck outside just in time for the national anthem, and weak flyover (ONLY TWO F-16s!?), C'mon NFL owners, pony up some cash for a more impressive show. Manning not looking too shabby. TD for Denver! GO BRONCOS!!!! -
Bills hire first full time female assistant coach
John in Jax replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What does the bolded statement above mean? You seem to be saying that only women are good teachers/mentors at retail and sales, as YOU personally learned nothing in those career fields from men. Please elaborate, as I am very curious about this. Thanks. -

John in Jax replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL. When the Bills lost to KC, for all intents and purposes they were out of the playoff race. Only the most optimistic, most ill-informed, drunk, blinders & rose-colored glasses on fanatic person thought they could still make it. That's not to say that there weren't a lot of those folks around here though. -

Yep. "Stay in your lanes", and also, "Don't block in the back." And maybe, "Wrap up and make the tackle." LOL -

Really!? Administrative assistant to coach!? I don't think that happens very often, if ever....until now. But hey, I could be wrong, but probably not. -
NFC Playoff: Seattle at Carolina
John in Jax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, so I just spent the last hour with my wife in the other room, not following the game at all. So it looks like Seattle is not going down easy. Interesting. So what happened to Carolina's steam, err, I mean freight train? -

LOL. Yeah, me too. I would go for a motorcycle ride, but it's 52 degrees down here! Too effing cold! -

They need to flag Cam the Showboat early (for taunting).
