Alex Smith looks pretty good tonight so far. As I've said before in this forum, there's no question that he is a better passer than Tyrod.

Jags fans are terrified of Bills fans
John in Jax replied to Seanbillsfan2206's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've got thick skin too, and don't really give a rat's a$$ what anybody says about my city.....but there are two main reasons, and they're BIG ones, why Jax is a better place to live vs. WNY. They are: the weather (yes, even with the occasional hurricane), and the lower taxes. The two latter things really do affect your life in significant ways. Also, I don't wear Speedos, I work in construction, I like Carhartt, and I drive a 4WD Ford truck. LOL -
Hi there, been living here in Jax for 22 years now. I've NEVER seen the Jags come out in "full force." RIGHT NOW there are still LOADS of greedy Jags "fans" trying to unload their tickets on StubHub, TicketMaster, Vivid Seats, etc. Get real.

If you're going to Jacksonville or are already there
John in Jax replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, this one is actually about 3 miles from my house; if I didn't go to Wing It during the season, this is where we'd go. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the other Millers Ale House is closer to downtown Jax (and closer to Wing It), it is near Tinseltown off of Southside Blvd. -
If you're going to Jacksonville or are already there
John in Jax replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, so tomorrow night if Wing It is filled to capacity, closer places than Sneakers (which is at the beach) are: Hooters, Tilted Kilt, and Millers Ale House. All 3 are relatively close to each other near a large movie theatre complex called Tinseltown. All 3 have many HD TVs. Of course, Tilted Kilt and Hooters have scantily clad women running around. The location is just off of Southside Blvd., about a mile north of Butler Blvd. (which is the main east-west highway south of the city). The aforementioned area is about 15 mins. from Wing It. From Wing It to Jax Beach (Sneakers) is about 35-40 mins. The mega mall / outdoor shopping are mentioned earlier is called St. John's Town Center. It is also just north of Butler Blvd., and is the next exit to the east off of Butler from Southside Blvd. Be warned though that on the weekends this Town Center area is always jammed up, and they are currently building more stores & restaurants. But there are a ton of stores and restaurants there, mostly national chains. For drinking/bar hopping, Jax Beach, and just north of there in Neptune and Atlantic Beaches are fun places with lots of opportunities to imbibe. Plenty of restaurants there too. -
Seating for Bills Jags game
John in Jax replied to Moulds 808080's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lol....why so bitter? SRO at this stadium is actually pretty good. It's at both ends of the stadium, and the South end is the better of the 2....It's the Bud Zone. And then there's the scoreboard which is the largest HD board IN THE WORLD. -
You're right; my mistake. It was the next game vs. the Saints, AT HOME, where they lost by 37 after having 10 days to prepare, and after getting embarrassed on national tv by the Jets the game before. One would have thought that after that terrible game vs. the Jets, the COACHES would have had them "ready for bear" the next game.

NFL Scheduling Deserves a Ton of Credit
John in Jax replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they had stayed with the original schedules, and the outcomes were the same, the only thing that would have happened differently would have been that the late Chargers/Raiders game would have meant nothing....just as it meant nothing at 4pm. -
Anything is possible; that's why they play the games! ?

Sam Darnold Declares for the 2018 NFL Draft
John in Jax replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
I guess the money was just too much to resist, vs. being sent to Cleveland. ?? -
NFL Turning Point. The moment the drought ended
John in Jax replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brought to tears....again! Maybe these Bills are a team of destiny; we shall see. -
Go online today at 2:58pm to www.jaguars.com/playoffs, and when it hits exactly 3pm, hit "Find Tickets" and see what happens. Lol They are releasing a bunch more tickets.

Donate $17 to the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation!
John in Jax replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They just updated Dalton's foundation totals on CBS....$246k so far. WOW! Although I'm sure that some of that is from non-Bills fans, just because of the widespread publicity he has received in the last few days. In any case, IT IS PRETTY AWESOME! -
Yes, I long ago stopped watching pre-game shows and talking head "experts." I think that many posters in here have just as much, and some even more, insight/knowledge about Bills football. I was simply commenting on somebody else's post in this thread as to why the national media think the way they do about this game. It might be called "an educated guess"; sort of like what the bookmakers in Vegas do. But you're right, the most important thing that affects the outcome of a game is the performances on the field of the players (and to a lesser extent, as we all know, the officials). That's why they play the game. HELLO! You play to win the game!

I assume you've seen this offense in action this year? So looking at the bolded words above, and acknowledging that many people think that Jax has one of the best defenses in the league this year, do you see a problem here? Look, like everyone else, I hope to heck the Bills use some smoke & mirrors and somehow pull off a Win, but the national "experts" are all on the same page for good reasons.

Hi there. Bills fan here who moved to town in 1995, the first year of the Jags. Of course, by living here, I couldn't help following the Jags as my "2nd team." I'm LOL at your statement above which I bolded. The ONLY reason that there is going to be so many Bills fans at this game is because of the loads of "loyal" local fans who are selling their tiks because they value money more than they value supporting the Jags. IOW, for them, Greed is #1. You do realize that, right?

Pro Football HOF 2018 Class Announced
John in Jax replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Lewis gets in....and I think he will....I understand that they are going to put his bust right next to OJs, and have a little disclaimer plaque nearby. ??? -

25 Years ago today.. "The Comeback"
John in Jax replied to Gary M's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Had just got off active duty in the USAF. Last duty station was at Yokota AB in Japan. We had just arrived back in country, and THAT weekend, we were moving into a small apartment in Las Vegas, NV. We had not received our household goods yet, so the apt. was very sparse, but I somehow had a small 12" color tv. I blew off church to stay back at the apt to watch the game, as my wife and two young girls went to the services. I could not believe what I saw! LMAO -
Bills make playoffs by rule not used since 2010
John in Jax replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, I did not realize that they literally got in "by the skin of their teeth." Would be very nice if they could duplicate what the Packers did when they got in the same way. We shall see. Let's Go BUFFALO! -
Jurrell Casey says Blake Bortles is going to choke
John in Jax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who is Jurell Casey? NEVER head of him. Also, predictions like this are silly & stupid. IOW, they're worthless.
