Isn't it fun though to watch good QB play?
-
@KD in CA: Nah, Dawgs will pull it out even if Tide gets 7 to tie here.

Went to the game yesterday, but watched most of the game earlier tonight after I got home from work. The Jag who tackled TT low was NOT blocked into him, while the Bill WAS blocked into Bortles. I have a DVR, and I closely reviewed both of these plays to make sure I got it right. Also, on one of TT's scrambles, he was targeted by a Jag thug who clearly went helmet-to-helmet with intent to "kill the QB." Romo even made the idiotic comment that "Since he's a runner, and didn't give himself up or slide, he's fair game!" Umm, no, I'm pretty sure that recent league rules are that they do not want ANY players running around using their helmet as a battering ram on another player's helmet. It was clearly intent to injure.

What about the headshot to O'Leary in the first half. Sure looked like a defenseless receiver being targeted by a thug to me.

Jalen Ramsey's Game Clinching "Interception"
John in Jax replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Dave you gotta admit that very often they call defensive PI when a DB is just making minor hand-to-body contact with a receiver, and it really doesn't even prevent the receiver from catching the ball, but they call it anyway. In THIS case, and others like it, the definite early arrival of the DB, and the ramming of the receiver, affects the play about a million times more, so of course it should be called ...every time. -
Jalen Ramsey's Game Clinching "Interception"

Just rewatched it on my 65" HD TV. Plain as day as he rolls over, part of the ball also rolls on the ground too. Yes he has one hand on the ball, but since he's rolling, his hand doesn't stay between the ball and ground. In fact, the latter is physically & scientifically impossible, unless his hand is also moving around the ball as he rolls (it's not). Shad Khan must have paid in more than Pegs! -
A Few Thoughts About the Jags Game
John in Jax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I went to the game yesterday, and didn't have great seats, so I've been watching the game tonight, on my DVR. I don't know why I torture myself like this, but I do. So I'm through the first half, and I'm just sick. So here we go: 1) On the VERY FIRST play of the game, a pass to Clay, after the play is over, the Jag DB taunts Clay by purposefully moving to stand over him after he's down, the after he gets up he gets right in his face and woofs at him....No flag thrown...was as obvious a "Taunting" as could possibly be. 2) Technical Director for the game was absolutely 100% a Jags fan. Even though there were thousands of Bills fans there, EVERY single fan shot in the 1st half was of a Jag fan hootin & hollerin or just being an A$$. LOL Didn't matter who was on offense or defense....sickening. 3) The facemask penalty on the Bills near the end of the first half (as they received a Punt!) was never shown, nor explained. Only game in the country going on, with probably 20 cameras and they didn't catch it!? They never should a replay, so I just rewound the live action shot over and over trying to find it, but I could not. 4) When the Bills got in the Red Zone, of course there was that missed pass by TT to a very open O'Leary. But before the offsides that gave the Bills a fresh set of downs, on 3rd and two from the two, the Bills called a designed run for TT with three guys wide right. NOBODY contained on the right side as the receivers pushed their guys into the end zone, and it would have been the easiest run in the world for TT to go that way, but he didn't. 5) With 28 secs left, the Jags are driving, and Bortles takes off to his left for his 2nd big run of the drive, however, on the right side, as plain as day, for all the world to see, the Jags DT trying to block Lorenzo Alexander has TO PUT HIS RIGHT ARM AROUND ALEXANDERS NECK to stop him! It's as blatant a holding as there has ever been in this league. Like I said, I'm still a bit sick. -

Yep. That was on the Bills' 2nd to last drive...on 3rd down. -

Reminds me of the Super Bowl vs. the Redskins...tons of plays like this early on that were not called either. Went to the game yesterday, and am watching the replay right now. In the 2nd Qtr, on the Jags INT, it's virtually the same situation...the Jags DB got there early, and of course, no call. -
How many Bills fans will be at the game Sunday?
John in Jax replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They totally downplayed the Buffalo invasion in the local media; it was very disappointing. One thing I did find out was that the Jags organization allowed each season ticket holders to buy five extra tickets AFTER buying their own ticket. I'm guessing that is why there were so many tickets on the aftermarket...and it shows you just have few season ticket holders they have. They basically allowed a cartel by Jags season ticket holders, instead of them (the Jags) just selling them themselves at face value. That doesn't seem right to me. -
Bills-Jags Was Best Game of the Weekend
John in Jax replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Put down the crack pipe. Both the KC/TN and Carolina/NO games were way better than watching two inept offenses who should be nowhere near the playoffs. -
How difficult will it be to get back in 2018?

Truer words have never, ever been written! -
Hope TT is Ok. Also, you're right about the scoreboard operators at the game...they were terrible. So was the non-stop blaring rap/hip hop "music" EVERY SECOND of the game when they weren't actually engaged in a play. And any plays where we absolutely wanted to see the replay...like the Jags first interception or the face mask penalty on the Bills when they were receiving a punt, WUT?......they barely showed, while every mundane play they immediately showed a replay from 3 different angles.

A Few Thoughts About the Jags Game
John in Jax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big Ben had his worst game in years, and threw 5 picks. That was an anomaly, and surely won't happen next Sunday. -
Was anyone at the game today?
John in Jax replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was there. My educated guess would be about 15-20% Bills fans in the stadium; there was indeed Bills fans all over, in every section. -
A Few Thoughts About the Jags Game
John in Jax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LMAO 1) THE BILLS HAD MORE TOTAL YARDS GAINED THAN THE JAGS. 2) The TT pick should have been caught by a Bill, but unfortunately he couldn't handle a pass right at his numbers, and instead deflected it up in the air for an easy pic. 3) Tyrod was 17-37 because he sucks and cannot see the field....cannot see open receivers. Jags D had ZERO to do with that. 4) The Jags are going to get demolished by the Steelers next week. Please GO AWAY AND GO BACK TO THE LOVEFEST IN THE JAGS FORUMS. Next week at this time the Jags will be losers, on a plane back to Cowford. -
A Few Thoughts About the Jags Game
John in Jax replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Went to the game; here's a few thoughts: 1) There were a TON of Bills fans in that stadium, in every section...GREAT JOB by Bills fans to represent 2) For the whole game, there was a noticeable amount of empty seats, mainly in the Upper decks 3) On the 2nd to last drive for the Bills, it was an obvious Pass Interference on the Jags as the guy locked up the Bills arm early 4) On the last drive, the head tackle to TT could have easily been called as Unnecessary Roughness; I have seen other QBs get the call for less vicious hits 5) Speaking of TT, he cannot see open receivers (we knew that), but unlike other games, in this game, he wasn't able to get away and break off any decent runs (like Bortles did all day) 6) The Jags will likely get killed next week in Pitt; Big Ben will NOT miss open guys like TT 7) Another reason the Jags will get killed next week is that their Defense is Overrated.THE BILLS OUTGAINED THEM today, and EACH TEAM had two sacks. So much for "Sacksonville." LOL 8) If the Bills could have stopped Bortles from running all over the place, they *might* have won 9) After the game, on the walk back to the car, I saw Daryl Talley. ETA: Don't think that it would have mattered anyways, but after coming home and reviewing the DVR, the final INT should definitely have been overturned. There was more than enough evidence that showed the ball roliing around AND TOUCHING THE GROUND too. Even Jim and Tony saw that, and noted it. Not surprised though that the call didn't go the Bills way. -
I hope someone from the media asks McDermott why...

But wait, isn't SM "Coach of the Year" material!? LOL That's what I've been reading from a lot of folks in here in the past week....and it's absurd. -

Just as an FYI, the Bills are staying at the Ocean One Resort, which is at the very eastern end of Atlantic Blvd, where it meets the ocean. ? -
