Mike Mularkey retires from coaching
Charles Romes replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Football Outsiders, who has tracked every play in the NFL since the early 1990s, the 2004 Bills are statistically the best NFL team (in their record-keeping history) to have failed to qualify for the playoffs.[2] -
Really liked what Beane had to say today
Charles Romes replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he should do what he did last year every year. 1 premium FA and 15 middler guys with a chip on their shoulder. Competition at every position, turn extra players into draft picks on final roster day. -
Tom brady not retiring according to himself

Belichick is dying to see if he can turn an Andy Dalton or Marcus Mediocre into a Super Bowl QB then it’s game over in terms of who the legend really was. -
He may actually have to win the whole damn thing to be taken seriously. He took Kap to within 5 yards of the Lombardi with a run offense, then brought a first year starter Tyrod to the top 15. What scares teams is that Roman’s offenses are so different from what others are doing there is no going back. You can’t plug and play players from a Roman run offense to a traditional offense. It’s hard to recruit free agents into such a specialized system. Getting receivers to sign on will be difficult over time because the yardage numbers are going to be bad. How things ended in Buffalo did not help. I recall the O got very sloppy and disorganized for a few games. Ironically it was a horrible game against the Ravens that did him in.

The REAL reason Duke Didnt Catch The TD Pass
Charles Romes replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s way better than the garbage we rolled out at that position in 2018 but that does not make him a potential 1/2. His ceiling is a 3. -
Good call by The Rams. If you follow Wade’s career his teams/defenses generally play awesome when he first takes over but then steadily decline over time. I call it the Wade effect. He is pretty lax in terms of imposing discipline and relies on the players to be responsible enough to do their job. This has a huge positive effect when he first takes over especially if the team is tightly wound (taking over from Parcells) but eventually “playing loose” becomes “playing sloppy.” Might be a good fit now for Jacksonville which has been tightly wound.

2020 Bills Unrestricted Free Agents

I don’t think I heard Spain’s name all year. In a good way. -
Duke today, did the bad outweigh the good?
Charles Romes replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His big drop was the swing pass on 3rd and 25 in OT. He just needed to break a tackle to set up makable game winning 55 yarder inside. -
What was the Bill's Play-of-the-Decade?

Rookie Tre White’s scoop and score v. the Falcons in 2017. We had no business beating the loaded 3-0 defending NFC champs on the road. This play set the tone for the McDermott era, and for Tre’s career. -
Dolphins hire Chan Gailey as OC

If you are looking to move the ball with no talent for a year so your fan base does not run you out of town he’s your guy. -
Tyrod Taylor could get you to 2-2 over four games and has a game that is similar to Allen’s. He no longer commands low tier starter money. LA would be happy to move on from Tyrod if they are developing a new pocket passer.

11-5 sounds so much better than 10-6
Charles Romes replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me 12-4 has a totally different feel but 11-5, 10-6 are pretty much the same. -
Allen slammed on ESPN
Charles Romes replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen can miss open receivers but the haters never give him credit for creating many open options every play by virtue of his physical gifts, including ability to sense the rush, incredible running ability, and ability to throw a 30 yard dart on the run. -
Like it. Bills D destroys anyone coming in with a checkdown game plan.

Next year they may be one year past having a super bowl winning D. That’s my concern.

Bills win out and they win the division?
Charles Romes replied to Dafan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Common opponents I believe got us in the playoffs in ‘17 despite a worse conference record. Makes sense that the same rule would come back to haunt us. -
Week 15: Bills at Steelers on SNF
Charles Romes replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of shocked Bills are favored. The home Steelers have won 8 of 10 with second and third string QBs. -

A new Thunder and Lightning

Need a veteran RB who is elite at pass protection/Blitz pickup. -
People are now giving the front office credit for properly bringing Josh along. In fact Allen against all odds carried the front office. He was good enough to salvage something from the 2018 season which by all rights should have ruined him. They surrounded him with a receiving corps that included Kelvin Benjamin as a number one, no offensive line, and no quarterback room until half the season was over.

NFL Puts Josh on List of Most Improved
Charles Romes replied to mykidsdad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen has also improved vs. blitzes (2018: 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 58.1 passer rating; 2019: 8 TDs, 4 INTs, 83.6 passer rating) with a 7:0 TD-INT ratio and 109.0 passer rating vs. the blitz since Week 5. !!!
