  1. What a game that was. Nothing was going our way and we were down 13 in the 4th. Any other team would have called it a day. But greatness prevailed late and we pulled it out in OT overcoming a botched extra point by Norwood.
  2. Rex Ryan has always destroyed rookie QBs. It was the one thing he showed he was still good at. Brady suspension notwithstanding it was the most impressive victory in Ryan's tenure in Buffalo.
  3. To me the Reilly activation smacks of arm chair coaching. Marv Levy warned that if you do what the fans want you to do you will find yourself sitting amongs them. The fans think Dareus is lazy: give him away. The fans thing Peterman looks good back there: start him in a critical road game with playoff implications. The fans think Reilly has heart and character: sign him to the 53. When is this coaching staff and front office going to come up with a plan better than the fans.
  4. Wasn't Zorn doing shots of Hennessy when he drew this play up that got him fired:
  5. This thread boils down what is TTs current value on the open market assuming he's released. I say $9M. He's actually worth a bit more but no team is going to pay a premium for a boring ball control offense.
  6. Buffalo is a deathbed for a WR career. Your stats are going to be bad because we don't have a good QB. Even with a good QB the stats can be bad on account of the weather.
  7. Yes I told myself early on that McD should be a coach of the year candidate with an 8-8 record. It doesn't make the losing and having no talent hurt any less. We all lost our sense of reality with the stunning 5-2 start.
  8. As much as I hate to admit it history shows that Marrone was on the right side about many things. He was against drafting and starting EJ Manuel and the kings ransom paid for Sammy. The front office gave him nothing to work with at QB in either of his years. What he and Hackett were able to do pulling Orton off the bleachers at the last second in 2014 was in retrospect respectable if not admirable.
  9. He was a fine GM. He took a few big swings and misses but he had reasons for doing so. If one of his big swings panned out he would still be in Buffalo.
  10. I loved the schedule when it first came out. A 40 year old twice in December who would likely have hit the wall or be out altogether. Instead another routine MVP candidate season. We have not seen a 40 year old athelete with this level of dominance since Barry Bonds!
  11. Exactly. You need to make low cost finds like this through your roster in 3-7 key positions to make the playoffs.
  12. We are in the drivers seat of the division if we can sweep the Pats who are at Pittsburgh week 15.
  13. The most frustrating thing is that for about ten of the losses we would have won or come close had Brady merely played excellent, but instead he played almost perfect. The underrated game in the series that sticks out is 2012 where Fitz almost outgunned Brady but TJ graham zigged instead of zagged. Bills piled up almost 500 yards of offense. If the Bills get this marquis win on the road Chan and Fitz stay with a 7-9 record, Manuel is not drafted and the whole course of team history is different.
  14. Looking at the schedule if there is way the Pats could be in a rest the starters mode week 16 that could be huge. Major difference between playing them week 16 or 17.
  15. This is where you kill the wounded animal. Unfortunately we don't have that type of team.
  16. I agree that the numbers don't lie and are particularly stunning when cross referenced with the turnaround of Jacksonville's run D. There were some astute football savvy posters on this board who warned that Dareus was occupying multiple blockers each of his limited snaps and thus was earning his large salary. These were lonely voices of wisdom it turns out and Dareus continued to be a punching bag for the fans and the media. The most distressing thing is that the coaching staff and front office listened to the fans and the media and exaccerbated the piling on rather than capably evaluate Dareus' now clear dominant impact on the field.
  17. Didn't someone run on us for 200 twice last year!
  18. I think I have seen enough already of Peterman to know. He didn't throw five interceptions. He threw five interceptions IN A HALF!
  19. Philip Rivers is an upper echelon franchise QB. Always has been. It's a sign of bad coaching and management that he has not been close to a title.
  20. There is nothing left to clean. The cupboard is bare.
  21. Depressing question. 9 is not realistic as it would mean beating the chiefs or pats. Any number less than 9 is not good enough for the playoffs and any number greater than 5 destroys critical draft standing.
  22. Yes - He had one catch that day. This one that won the ballgame. Hard to put a price on greatness.
  23. Maybe the upshot if all this will be that Tyrod will start slinging it and see what happens. He should be ecouraged to pass for 300 and a 1/1 TD/int ratio instead of 179 and a 4/1 ratio. Then, this benching experiment will have had some value.
  24. I'm so thankful for teams staying in Buffalo that I have given them a lifelong pass for being terrible owners.
