Chiefs 19m Over Salary Cap in 2021
Charles Romes replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen’s will to win is such that I think he will be inking a somewhat team friendly deal. He knows his legacy and endorsement value is bound up with Super Bowl wins, which will not occur without a supporting cast. -
The Singletary drop with the score 9-7 is particularly mind-numbing. We are in FG range and answering their score if he simply just doesn’t drop the ball and we show RB pass catching threat. I couldn’t believe it when it happened and 9 plays later the game was indeed nearly over. They get to tee off on third and long. Then a 5 play TD drive. Then a 3 and out while our O pressing. Disgusting drop.

this makes the beat down a little easier to accept. There is less likelihood of complacency than if we hung with the chiefs for 3 quarters. -
Yeldon did a really good job
Charles Romes replied to tbonehawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeldon looked good because our 1 and 2 looked bad. I still can’t believe singletary declined so much between year 1 when he looked like a breakout star with one question mark being durability to a JAG. His drop in the AFCCG will never be forgotten. -
Former Bills DC Mike Pettine under fire
Charles Romes replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pettine has always been known as a go for broke DC, always susceptible to the big play. Brady knew this. Pettine probably took gambles in getting the 3 picks as well. -
Jim Kelly was in attendance last night

That is awesome. Wish we could have gotten him the W. He must have been taken aback at being recognized with a mask on and a hat. Masks must make life easier for celebrity types. -
Compared with the Super Bowl teams
Charles Romes replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My hope is that Allen and Diggs’ will to win to the title is enough that they will give the organization at least minor home team discounts to acquire a few key pieces. Brady presented massive discounts later in his career. Mahomes agreed to fairly team friendly deal. -
Roberts took a step back this year. 3 fumbles, the horrible decision to bring out that almost lost the colts game, the titans game INT. McKenzie runs one back the one game he does not play. He’s 33 and I’d rather be too early than too late. Time to move on. McKenzie has been becoming increasingly reliable. A higher number for him makes sense if he’s the designated return specialist.

The problem is that we were shown not to be a great player or two away from where KC is. We are more like 5 great players away. Those players are hard to find. -
Brown- should they cut him?

A good regular season player not built for the playoffs. -
I agree that without the Singletary drop, which would have created a first down inside their 45 the entire game potentially changes. Instead of being stopped, we show that we can answer them drive for drive putting a little pressure on their offense and keeping our defense off the field. Could have also opened up the offense if they have to worry about Singletary as a receiver. Potentially a 14 point swing with that drop.

Which AFCE Competitor will draft a QB First?

New England has to try something. That quarterbacking we saw week 16 was brutal. -
Steelers signing Dwayne Haskins
Charles Romes replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The most you can hope for is that they will emerge as a reliable backup. Take test run starter 2nd rounder Todd Collins of the Bills. After the Bills cut ties he became the long term backup in Washington and sat on the bench. Then a decade later he was called upon to start and miraculously led the team on a great late season run. -
Steelers signing Dwayne Haskins

That’s right. If the trade up cost to get Rosen or the high risk Allen would be too high why not just draft Rudolph late in the first or early in the second. In many ways we was a more proven prospect than Allen anyway. -

Mason Rudolph obviously not the guy so why not kick the tires.
