  1. I thought that Reich’s head coaching career was brilliant factoring in the purgatory aspect all the way up until week 15 last year.  Then with the disaster at the end of last year he panicked when he scapegoated Wentz.  Defenses at least had to respect Wentz’s arm/mobility enough to move out of the 9 man box that old Matty has faced all year.

  2. He’s doing more with more this year and is showing that he did more with less in years past.

The real story may be Beane’s one year all free-agency makeover of the d-line, with one splash signing and 4 second page value signings, all working perhaps even better than hoped for.

A one year all free-agency transformation of a position group with this level of success may be unprecedented.

  3. If Josh did not bail him out with the 3rd in the 13th missile to Gabe from his own end zone, he would be odds on likely to sit next game like he sat last year. That was the worst of the 3 blunders imo. You add Sunday to the Colts game and Rams opening day with the spotlight shining and you wonder is it’s viable dressing this guy in January.

  4. The shocking thing about his Wyoming stats is that he averaged only 3.2 yards per rush with hundreds of rushes. I don’t see how that’s remotely possible.

  5. I don’t see anyone saying that Ed Oliver is critical to the run defense, or the pass rush, and he seemed to be on the sidelines when there was significant pressure on Mahomes Sunday.  I’m not saying he’s not a good player, but the lineup with the space eaters inside and our edge rusher rotation seems to be working so well.

  6. I was one of those who thought it was all-Allen. In fact, in my view Allen carried Daboll all four years. However, looking at the astonishing reclamation going on in New York, it’s difficult to ignore the possibility that the Bills lucked out by having an all-time quarterback whisperer on staff when Allen arrived. Allen would have become great no matter who coached him, but possibly not this level of great.

  7. 9 hours ago, Sammy Watkins' Rib said:

Herbert is a very confusing player. He doesn't use his legs enough. He's probably the best thrower of the football between he, Allen and Mahomes. But Allen and Mahomes separate themselves with what they do with their legs both scrambling behind the line of scrimmage and running for first downs.

That said, he's viewed as having potential to be in the class of Allen and Mahomes (he'll never get there if he continues to refuse to use his legs) and for that reason I don't see the Chargers trading him for any deal involving only draft picks.

it’s possible Herbert is playing the long game and trying to play into his 40s like Brady.
