Where Did All The Young Men... Offenses Go?
Charles Romes replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s become impossible to grow offensive linemen, especially tackles, maybe due to better PED testing or kids moving to soccer instead. You really need an incubator program. I knew pass rushers were in for a big year when traffic cone quessenberry was signed to an active roster within hours of getting cut. -
Thought he was quicker this week, but is afraid (perhaps correctly) that his knee will explode if he turns the corner after getting past the tackle.
-
Maybe they want to keep his sack numbers as low as possible so he’s more affordable. Belichick wrote the book on keeping running backs cheap by crowdsourcing so no one could put up numbers.
-
In the first two series we had two receivers trip over themselves and another fumble. Three drive killing drops last week. What is he supposed to do.
-
In real time it looked like high quality sticky coverage. You never get the flag in that situation. Nor should you.
-
All their key players have an injury history. Doubt they will be near full strength in the stretch run. It’s actually a negative that they all healthy now in the early season.
-
The book on him is to just bang him around a lot and he’ll be a non-factor. The staff will add 25 pounds to his frame over the next 3 years. Unfortunately, there will be no way he can emerge as a top 2 receiving option until that time, at the earliest.

NFL Trade Deadline Oct 31 - Rumored List of Players Available

31 teams inquired about Burns last year before the deadline. -
Silver linings with the Injuries?
Charles Romes replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD sees defensive prospects like few others. Milano might have been out of the league with his measurable rather than an all-pro if he did not wind up with McD. Also, Poyer, Hyde, Benford, Bernard, Johnson, Jackson, etc. The team needed to get younger, cheaper, and less injury-prone. I would like to see McD use this as an opportunity to develop as many young prospects as possible, raiding other practice squads for players he has been tracking. -
AJE may already be a top 15 pass rusher entitled to the market value that brings. If I’m AJE, my negotiating stance is that I was already a break-through 10 sack player in 2022 but that was disguised by the fact that I was limited to 30 PERCENT (!!!) of the snaps due to McDs rotation (he had 6.5 sacks playing 30 percent of the snaps). This may be our first loss of a disruptive player whose stats were artificially diminished due to McDs DL rotation system.

I think it was clear that carting off two great players in the first 5 minutes deflated the offense. Can’t write off the whole season, with 20 games every good team is bound to lose 1-4 key players.

[Question] Former Bills who have found success in McD Era?
Charles Romes replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jack O’Nicklaus? -
Bills signing Josh Norman - yes, seriously

Guess Elam was actually worse than he looked, if that’s possible -
5) Kingsley Jonathan was the highest rated Bills defensive player yesterday at a 92.1. He had 2 hurries, 1 sack, 2 stops and 1 forced fumble. Epenesa was right behind him at 85.7. I thought Jonathan had a chance to break through. This is great news. How hard is it to grow a legitimate young pass rusher literally out of nowhere, not even spending a 7th rounder.

I’d be willing to give McDermott a whole extra year just based on the evidence that Bernard can really play.

As we all hate on Ken Dorsey today let’s remember
Charles Romes replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can’t believe how easily the Bills O fell for the “let them catch it short and converge” D. Looks like a blueprint. They were baiting Allen with a wide open pass catcher short every play and he took the bait time after time. -
He couldn’t put any weight on it in camp. Might not be able to until 2024, when he’s 35

Kaiir Elam is a liability any time he is on the field
Charles Romes replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard was running around like a chicken with his head cut off most of last year. That’s my primary source of hope for Elam. -

3 drops 3 drive stops = no different than a turnover. So disgusting. -
Von Miller to 53 & Tre White to IR

I’m not sure a week 8-10 activation would have been better. -
This is why I would not rule out the possibility of Hackett making Zach serviceable-plus down the stretch.

PFF says we have the 8th WORST pass rush?
Charles Romes replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
That sounds like the number for second half of 2022 after Von went down -
Fallon worked hard to get great reviews his first six months on the job when everyone was watching closely, then has been mailing it in ever since.

Man how many of those hits would still be legal today!

Allen's completion percentage - Him, or Dorsey or the weapons
Charles Romes replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it has something to do with the veterans not wanting the rookie to think he has the best hands on the team.
