Getting to the playoffs is no longer good enough. Both coordinators embarrassed their teams yesterday, and I’d argue Frazier has done it more often than not. We’re truly paper Tigers as the roster looked unbeatable but crumbled with some of the weakest schemes and strategy I’ve ever seen.

edit: and as much as we love captain clappy, yesterday, down 14, he went nuts clapping on a 2nd down stop. He’sa defensive cheerleader. And the only reason I didn’t pick “clean house” was because you included Beane in there.

the second down stop was actually a dropped pass by the Bengals which made it worse

And I think for me, it's what I find the most frustrating. I can't remember the Bills ever running a quick game offense, this season. I remember we've talked about how getting Josh a few quick completions used to settle him down.

Versus the Rams week one to neutralize Donald.  It worked to perfection. Then they abandoned it though it should have been featured throughout especially v the Jets.

  3. I don’t disagree with taking the flyer on Von. Our pass rush created legitimate problems for the 8 games he played (first time this has happened under McDermott).  The issue is why we had to take the flyer on the aging pass rusher.  We drafted three defensive ends and pass rushing DT in the first and second rounds and all of them were easily handled by a makeshift offensive line.

When healthy Jordan Phillips is a real difference maker. Players with his size and agility are not very common. You can tell he's been one-armed by the lack of impact plays he's been making. I hope his shoulder is healed up a bit because we could really use his interior pass rush.

I love how Shakir, James Cook, and Elam are all playing their best football right now and I don't think it's a coincidence.

IMO the emergence of our rookie class is a testament to how deliberately and carefully they've been brought along this year. Clearly none of them have hit the rookie wall and all three are contributing substantially now.

Yes we're missing Von Miller and Micah Hyde but the play of our top rookies gives me optimism that this team is in some ways, better than last year's edition.

would have liked to see Benford take some snaps last few weeks.  Going to need him to knock some pass catchers around the next three games.

  5. Looks like a very lame bid by TB/Arians to maintain status quo and Bowles, and convince Brady to come back. I think Brady tells them this week he will not come back with Bowles there as HC.  Not sure what happens next. Who wants to see the Bucs go 3-14 next year with Bowles HC and a Wentz/Darnold level qb.

The best way to get pressure against an O-line that doesn't have experience playing together is to use stunts and disguised blitzes so that the linemen are unable to figure out their blocking assignments.

I would love to see Rousseau used more on inside stunts considering he was extremely successful doing that in college.

we have been trying for the entire McBeane tenure to scrap together some kind of pass rush.  Hughes/Addison etc. the Obada flyer. Four high picks. Then, for 8 games we actually had a pass rush. Then, it all ended on that horrendous turf in Detroit.
