in ‘92 Bills had the 1 seed locked up at 12-4 with a win at the Oilers, but lost and had to play the next week as the 5 hosting the Oilers.

There are oline situations that are complete disasters. The jets situation may be even below these. They are going to have to unload a defensive asset or two in order to give Rodgers any kind of shot next year.
-
I was originally angry about the possibility being out of the playoffs with a loss but now I am have warmed up to it. Bills likely need the 2-seed to make a realistic run at the Lombardi this year, and if they don’t get in they get to draft #18, which has been the sweet spot for drafting a #1 wr.

Have to think Vrabel’s seat is at least warm and he will be going all out for a 6th win.

Agreed on the Chargers game. I had that pegged as a huge trap game. New coaches, players embarrassed the week prior, coast to coast travel. Seeing how our peers faired that weekend, I was VERY happy with the results.
I just find, that in general, we’re geared to beat the small fast D (new gen type) and generally have a harder time with the ball control heavy (old gen type) Ds.
Not saying we cannot be successful against the old school D (record proves it) but it seems to mess with our rhythm and timing.
that and the chargers are a veteran max-contract type of team -
Teams who used to be afraid of Allen beating them deep are now crowding the line and daring him to beat them deep knowing he is now so turnover conscious.

A lot of things we will miss when he’s gone, like his ability to totally dismantle average to poor quarterbacks, his ability to scout quality DBs on the cheap, his ability to see an undersized third round linebacker as a defensive centerpiece.
-
DBs used to fear Allen beating them with a deep corner route - now they know he won’t throw it because it’s too risky. They have also stopped giving Diggs a huge cushion partly because Allen won’t throw the deep corner route and partly because Diggs is getting up there in age.

I get the point about Fournette>Murray, but Murray seems to necessary to the Jush push.

Kyle Brandt came out and said that Damar has already received enough accolades. I agree with this take.
nonetheless, if he loses at awards night it will be as awkward as when Fitzgerald and Eli were awarded co-man of the year, leaving the third nominee just sitting there.

Knock on wood, I have never seen an oline stay this healthy for so long. Not sure if any of the starting 5 have missed a snap due to injury. Need to leverage this into a Lombardi.
-
Their secondary seems to be a strength of their team. Snead has gotten much better and has been shutting down 1s. McDuffie is very good.
-
Ifedi will be signed elsewhere over the weekend. So many oline rooms around the league are a mess and Kromer is respected.

Do we think Bills great Anquan Boldin will get in?
He sure expended a lot of capital with that one preseason play as a Bill. Sometimes I feel it consumed half my life for that route to develop. -
Wonder what Saffold got last year. This tradition seems outdated. Now the oline is the second or third highest paid position group.

It's really hard to go though the roster and pick someone out. Maybe Ifedi but I'm not sure they want to mess with the OL room.
And they still have Phillips coming back probably in the postseason, if they win a game. Really speaks to the roster depth.
they will not cut ifedi. Developmental olinemen are like gold these days. I’d say Ford, but they are too injured at that mosquito. Maybe matekevich or Spector given they can just sign Klein back off the street in a pinch. -
Not sure I’d rather have anyone else but McD to scheme something up against Lamar

Sending the #2 broadcast team to call the week 17 game between the 1+2 seed is bizarre.

His late season injury may have made him less Espensa.

And then they’ll cry like babies for even more calls. -
Can make the case the pass rush, oline, running game, and weapons, are all the best they have ever been in the Allen era. With a few bounces could be fighting for the one seed with a brutal schedule. This is the year.

He showed some signs of life against KC’s rookie tackle. Saturday was back to square one.
Why Nathan Peterman?

AJ mcKarran was the bridge QB but they realized he was awful - not any better than the flyer on the roster Peterman so they dumped mcKarran just before week 1. Bills were in the market for other bridge QBs but mcKarran ended up as their choice somehow, maybe because he was the cheapest.
