Von was the team’s best player through 10 games. Two of our best and most expensive players - Von and Tre - were taken out by turf so horrendous that the NFLPA is demanding it be made illegal. That’s the mind numbing part.

Kansas City has worse drafting positions than we do every year, but they rank 4th overall. That pretty much falls on Beane and his college scouting dept.
We used a second on Cook when there were decent OL available, they found Pacheco under our noses [Rutgers] for a 7th.
the pressure of striking out with highly drafted RBs kicked in so they panicked and had to expend even more draft capital. -
They spent nothing on weapons for many of the years, letting Brady handle the O alone. BB always assembled a capable running back by committee so no RB built up stats that had to be paid for. The quick passing game was a central ingredient. Helped Brady stay healthy and make due with lower funding.

Beginning of the year, there were reports that Gabe was on the forefront of a novel “read-option” route scheme that Dorsey was working in. Gabe actually had experience with these rarely implemented concepts in college at UCF. I’m hoping that they give up on or tone down the option route scheme.

If Allen ends up being just 1/7th as successful as Brady, I will be able to die in peace.

Would rather have upgraded OL or receiver and roll with an ascending Cook as the 1 who can put on 15 pounds.

I thought Norv held Rivers back from a title or two. Norv was that bad and Rivers that good. Norv was lucky to have Rivers carry him along for several years.

3 of the final four had a cheap QB and 6 of the final 8 had qbs on contract before max qb money kicked in.
the new model is win it all with a non-max contract qb.

A major table that turned is that their division was supposed to be highly competitive and ours a cupcake. The reverse turned out to be true.

Love the timing of it if it sticks. “It’s all about me” JJ has to be apocalyptic

I never really thought that Drew Brees was that great. Thought he had a weak arm and benefited from playing in a dome etc. But man did he destroy the Bills every single time he played us, at least twice at OP in bad weather.

I’m actually disappointed. Allen should be using the opportunity to recruit a supporting cast.

Starting with the Cleveland game where Diggs had zero targets 28 minutes in they tried to consciously develop secondary targets and the running game. The O had become too Diggs centric and it was exposed in the first Jets game. For the most part it worked until Cincy. Offense was more balanced and there weee signs of a running game.

The people in charge of the Pro Bowl never seem to help themselves. Don’t they calculate that if they invite lousy players it will be more difficult to attract any names? Thomas Dmitroff on Movin the Chains a few weeks ago confirmed that all NFL teams use PFF and saffold graded out as just about the worst in the whole league.

Cook was stronger between the tackles that I thought he would be and can still add 15 pounds. I see him as ascending to be true 1.

Two competent DCs playing chess, not checkers, against a great opposing QB. Gives hope that coaching can make a major difference.

Announcers/Fox did a lousy job not calling that drop. I mean how many million times do you have to see the ground cause a fumble and not look for it.

Any oline expert on here have an opinion on Doyle’s ceiling?

The four man pass rush with Von was the best it’s ever been under McBeane, worst it’s ever been after Von went down.

like edmunds, oliver is a good player, but not a great player.
great players make players around them better. poy and maybe hyde last season, tre white for his singular best season.
based on what we have seen this season on the DL, Von Miller and to a lesser extend Da'quon Jones are the DL we have who make the DL around them better.
the sad part is we put so much into it and don't have much to show on the DL.
the happy part is fair market value Free agents like jones can come in (and costly but good ones like miller) and simply improve our team.
so we gotta find more of them, and while oliver is on the squad next season and i hope he gets 15 sacks, just like edumunds he only seems to make marginal improvements because he's getting tapped out in terms of his ability to impact.
yes, we have a lot of these players. And we are in the same situation with non qbs as qb purgatory teams like the Vikings who must pay the max for someone good not great.

This defense feasts on weak teams. So stats can and do lie. If our offense gets a good jump on a team the D can go off. But when it’s a close game or they are playing a good team the D is a no show. It is usually like a 34-31 type of game, the O has to play lites out to pull out a win. When was the last time we won a game because of our D? The O didn’t show up Sunday and the D certainly was not capable of bailing them out!
anybody remember the Denver playoff game in Buffalo during the Super Bowl years? Carlton Bailey picked off a pass for a td. The bills win the game 10-3 or something like that? That’sa good D bailing out the offense on a bad day.
This current defense could do no such thing! if the offense don’t show up it’s a bad day at the office! No playmakers or no one put in position to make plays.
D shut down Lamar and the Ravens in the wind/sleet playoff game ‘20

I’d like to know who’s idea it was within the colts organization to go with Matt Ryan. It was clear that guy is toast all last year and in the preseason this year.

Joe Montana Rooted Against Brady Too!

Montana threw not one, not two but Three bad picks in the legendary “catch” game. Probably would have been benched or behind three scores in today’s NFL.
