Byrds INT count is padded...

Does he seem better than he really is just because he is our only defender to step up and make a play to win ANY game over the last few years? -
Most Devastating Injury Each NFL Team.

Derrick Burroughs. Not even close considering the team at that time. -
You kind of lost me with the "two excellent runners" bit. One of our excellent runners will be nearly 33 when the season starts, has been injured the last two years, has been increasingly prone to critical errors, and averaged 2.2 yards per carry less than the other guy.

I must have been seeing something different when it looked like him all over the field in the AFC playoffs last year

He's hosting open right now. Great announcer, original genuine style. Unlike the morning drive rock jocks they have now.

When we picked ot Mike Williams. I felt the front office was doing the right thing eschewing the glam pick stacking the lines and going with a guaranteed 10 year starter without off the field issues like Bryant McKinnie

Deacon Jones versus Bruce Smith
Charles Romes replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, except that you forgot to mention his ability to break off mid-move whatever flash pass rush move he was performing in order to stuff the run. When he played for the Bills I could not believe how dominant he was. I would wonder if anyone else was seeing what I was seeing and why the League was not stepping in an putting him in the Hall while he was still playing, He would single-handedly collapse and occupy the entire side of the Oline opposite of where he lined up play after play and this went on for more than a decade. When you watched the opposing QB walk to the line against the Bills his eyes would invariably be riveted to where Bruce was standing prior to each snap. -
Kevin Kolb fan club- count me in
Charles Romes replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has anyone actually seen Kolb play - He is about as anti-clutch as they come and he gets sacked all the time. Fitz was anti-clutch granted, but at least he didn't get sacked all the time. -
Coach Doug to Da'Rick - That's not being a Buffalo Bill
Charles Romes replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like Marrone got this idea ("play like a Buffalo Bill") by watching HBO's Hard Knocks with the Jets that one year where Rex Ryan was telling everyone to "play like a New York Jet" - I would expect our coach to come up with some original ideas for motivating the players rather than stealing them from the Jets coach by watching a TV show all the fans have access to. I also thought Marrone went a little too far in calling attention to how great he was by citation to his little motivational victory at the press conference. I want Wins, I don't want coaches putting gold stars on themselves at press conferences. Thumbs down IMO. -
Dareus is back
Charles Romes replied to buffalobillsfansince1918's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with the shaped like a circle comment. I saw his interview on the Bills site. Man, he just seems to be getting fatter and softer. He looks easy to push around. I don't think you can compete in today's NFL letting yourself go like that. Petrine should be screaming at him to not leave the weight room. -

Possible changes coming to Pro Bowl
Charles Romes replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe I'm the only one but I liked the pro bowl just the way it was. The badness of the football was actually helpful in terms of weaning you off the game before the long offseason. Checking in to see one or two bills helmets on the field was all I needed. With free agency and the draft there is plenty of interesting material to talk about. The network airing the game could make it into a free agency/draft show with the game as a backdrop. -
Lame. QBs are trained to have their helmets mismatch the direction of their eyes so the side helmet camera will generate useless data. Unless you couple and resolve that data with retinal direction tracking data tracking the direction of the QBs eyes. Sounds like trestman is using dinosaur age technology.

I think you hit the nail on the head. For all his faults including weak arm fitz was hall of fame worthy in terms of getting rid if the ball and it certainly masked OL deficiencies.

The franchise has done nothing with high first rounders for more than a decade. So even if Manuel falls flat on his face its no different than other years. Lets go back a few years. Williams total bust, Maybin, total bust. Mckelvin, fifth round trade value, whitner, let walk. Dareus, teetering. Even Cj was a flop since we let a top 3 nfl back leave for a song. I don't understand where the pressure is.
-
Moulds never held the team hostage with salary demands and in his prime extended for significantly less than market so good players could be signed. We are taking about an all time great Bill.
-
I remember the wizard of oz getting panned on the flacco reach at about the same place in the draft. Flacco did not even play fbs and has become one of the greatest playoff QBs of all time.

We should have taken Nassib in the 4th
Charles Romes replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sometimes you strategically avoid imposing additiinal competition on your apparent starting QB. Like NE not signing a vet when Brady went down.
