  1. Mike smith coaching for his job? He had 4 winning seasons in a row, 3 more than the prior franchise record.
  2. This thread is misguided. If Brady/Bellichick had won just one more title they would have stepped off the gas by now opening up the division. I generally root for them to win it all once we are basically eliminated so they would just go away.
  3. Bills are also one of the few teams to have played 11 games.
  4. Glenn is the silent franchise player on this squad but was too good last year to qualify for this award. 1 sack surrendered all year with rookie QBs, one with johnsonesque tendencies to hold onto it. Are you kidding me.
  5. The real question is why the Bills did not front load an extended Byrd contract THIS YEAR while under the cap so he would be all paid up for years.
  6. Since they returned the kickoff point to the 35 again it's possible to garner a touchback on 70%+ of kickoffs. Carpenter is just not getting it done in that department. Bills rank 4th from he bottom in touchback percentage. Carpenter's kickoff problems are a major reason why he was cut by 3 teams in August. In '10 he missed 11 kicks, scary to any GM. In today's game you need touchbacks and you draft a big leg kicker like Hopkins if you have to.
  7. The collapse of Atlanta and Houston should convince him that he could be sorry if he signs with a "winner".
  8. The positive of being bad for so long. Late season games after being all but eliminated do not seem less important than early season games. They are all part of one big endless rebuilding process. Go Bills!
  9. Especially true when you consider they jettisoned the league's quintissential ALL-purpose back (power, breakaway, hands) when they got him.
  10. Reed and all the old guys Atlanta signed as well as Freeney are making it even more difficult for accomplished vets to get contracts.
  11. Maybe if EJs first few throws were not 20+ feet off target they would have opened it up a bit more.
  12. Why not "Ya either got faith or ya got unbelief..."
  13. Not bad for 88. If Graham runs the right route at the pats last year Fitz and chan are still here.
  14. I think he was prejudiced by his long stride and was much more productive than given credit for. He would run for what looked like 2 yards out of the wildcat and it was actually 12.
  15. I don't feel like looking it up but how many 7 game winning streaks has the franchise had? '65? '88? '90? '91? Likely only 2 of those years. I'll check back in after a few hours after someone does the research. I aspire to be mathematically alive in December. That is the true test of a great season in this era.
  16. Butler was becoming a damn good tackle. If he was doing that with half the effort he could have been all pro going all in.
  17. Here are some of my faves: Loss v. cleveland on the road in 07 when we were 7-6 and in the playoff hunt. The shellacking at the hands of Jets at home in '11 when were 5-2 going in (exposed the team as a fraud just like Chris Carter told us). Loss on the road to the Dolphins in '08, blowing a second half lead (would have gone 6-1). Loss at home to SF in '08 Loss on the road to the Bucs wk 2, 05 (maybe this Losman thing was not such a good idea) Loss at home to Dolphins in 00 (maybe this Johnson thing was not such a good idea) Shellacking at home on SNF (we were flexed in) to NE in 07 to end 4 gm win streak (NE scores TOUCHDOWNS on 7/7 possessions).
  18. Mccown looks very good. Bears lost certain playoff Berth in 11 because they had that horrendous backup - they Learned their lesson. McCown best backup QB-ing I've seen all year.
  19. And what's your plan for keeping Pettine around next year. Everyone knows this D is vastly improved from the one yielding 1200 yards over 2 games last year?
  20. You really have to give Alex smith some credit. Incredible care of the ball and he's been doing it for 3 years in a row now.
  21. Tuel was a lot better than I expected. If you want to see worse quarterbacking roll the tape on Brohm's two starts.
  22. Mike Greenberg is going with the Bills: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/shows/mikeandmike/story/_/page/nflpicks13/mike-mike-nfl-picks
  23. Manuel seem to be pretty good at calling plays and spotting the open receiver but his out pattern and over the top throws are weak. Brady came into the league with the same type of strengths and weaknesses though his natural arm strength does not compare with EJs.. Brady's progress as a passer throughout his career has been remarkable and there is no comparable QB in that regard. It's almost as if he grew a better arm.
  24. From what tuell showed in the browns game I would literally rather see Fred Jackson at QB running 100% wildcat. Could not do worse than the about 13 straight 3 and outs tuell has put up between the skins dress rehearsal game and the browns. Hard to figure out why he is on the roster still.
