  1. The perplexing one not listed is Billy Volek. A little long in the tooth now, but out of football for only this year, and is a free agent. Had a strong Schaub/Flynn type resume as a backup and was seen by everyone as a potential starter. Amazingly, decided to go to SD as a backup rather than compete for a starting job. Has a career 85 rating and won a playoff game against top seeded Indy on the road in 07. Given that he never wanted the pressure of being a starter, would it be possible to coax him out of retirement to try and save the franchise?
  2. You are assuming a talent that emerged under a different organization would have emerged here. A valid question is seems is how many more blue chipper careers could have been wrecked by being drafted by this mess.
  3. It actually should have been worse. No one is even talking about the fact that San Fran gashed us for huge gains on 4-5 more plays called back on non-flagrant OL procedure calls or holds. If you add in just those lost yards you are talking 700 yards that the defense yielded. If you factor in San Fran scoring on those drives (the only way we stopped them were those calls) they could have and maybe should have racked up 800 yards!!!
  4. Its pretty scary when the organization promotes the "fans choice" as part of a PR move. Another sign that this is beyond the point of control.
  5. Good one. Tommy Jackson of espn noted that addressing the historic incompetence on D is almost impossible given that teams can only practice once a week in pads.
  6. Actually, they are setting their own NFL records. First team to allow 300+ rushing and receiving in a single game. First team since the merger to allow 550+ in consecutive games.
  7. Thank god we got all those OL holding calls against San Fran. This could have really been embarrassing.
  8. What about an injured Fergy taking down Montana in 1980 in a monsoon to seal the team's first NFL division crown. No one gives that one any credit.
  9. Does this explain the two third quarter 80 yard drives, or the four straight TD marches that followed right after.
  10. Jaws also was big on the "Trent Edwards Franchise Quarterback" bandwagon and even discussed him as an MVP candidate: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=3654411 Lets hope he is just as wrong here.
  11. In order to lose something it is first necessary to have it.
  12. I think the panic set in when the sixth straight TD was scored not with a posting here.
  13. I can't believe you put yourself through that again. Sad to see Mario lowering the standard of dl play rather than raising it. Pats were thought to have ol problems this year. What hurts the most about this game is that they may be establishing the foundation for continued dominance in the post Brady era.
  14. Ha! So he bombs out at assistant defensive coordinator and gets promoted to defensive coordinator. Then bombs out again as defensive coordinator and gets promoted to head coach?
  15. I realize with press coverage you risk the big play. But if you can give up six straight TDs in a zone what do you have to lose, really.
  16. Did you forget seeing Gilmore being getting plowed into the end zone from 5 yards out.
  17. shred of hope: http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=311128018
  18. I'm supposed to be calm about being shredded for SIX straight touchdowns. SIX?
  19. No, its: "bad things man...Bad things." Mario does nothing but make you appreciate Bruce.
