Matt Barkley on the sidelines
Charles Romes replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately his one great game has made him unaffordable. The backup qb market is so scarce he went from out of the league to 5m FMV with one game. -
The big takeaway is that our young QB has figured out how to create tons of time for himself in the pocket by showing run.

I still can't believe Norwood made that "redemption" kick in the AFC championship game in '91 in the cold to seal the win against the Broncos the year after the Super Bowl tragedy. I had it in my head that it was a 54 yarder, but looking it up on line it was only 44 yards. If you see a 44 yarder as a miracle kick your kicker is very shaky. Every Bills fans I knew was thrilled when the team finally addressed the position with the Christie signing. Tampa Bay had tried to sneak Christie through waivers as a strategic roster move which he was aware of and the story I was told is that Christie advised the Bucs that he would only leave if Buffalo called as he is a Hamilton ON native.

Rate the rookie QB after week 13
Charles Romes replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good Topic. While mayfield has played the best, Allen has demonstrated by far the highest ceiling and the negatives seem addressable. If there were a redraft based on all of the evidence of this year Allen would be the first QB off the board. -
Where are you on the spectrum??

His astonishing combination of size, arm strength and running ability give him a significant margin of error -
If you log onto the main WGR website through your PC they still have the "listen" button active on the upper right. You click that and radio.com feed auto-generates. Seems to be working pretty good on a PC.

It's kind of cool no one knows the answer to this question. Let the guys get their work in prior to the game. That's the way it should be.

Thoughts on not making Anthony Lynn our HC?
Charles Romes replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a disgrace that rivers does not have a ring or even a super bowl appearance. He's always been a Top 5-7 qb talent. Horrendous coaching and front office are to blame along with franchise uncertainty. They don't even play home games now. Finally with a quality coach like A Lynn rivers may get his ring even while playing no home games. -
Is No. 1 Ranking Legit or a Mirage?

Really good move to unload Dareus and his absurd salary. Look at the decay of the Jags D over time. That kind of paycheck has to effect the locker room. -
How about Matt Barkley huh?
Charles Romes replied to Brianmoorman4jesus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barkley's performance has made him virtually unaffordable. He went from veteran minimum street free agent to top tier backup range $5M plus. He is going to have to play at least one more full game so we can afford to sign him. -
He's good enough that we should go Quarterback again next year early in round 1.

The D has been playing at an elite level and they deserve it. -

Daboll vs Hackett
Charles Romes replied to TheStateofWarshingtun's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In retrospect Nate and marrone did a good job realizing Whaley stuck them with garbage with Manuel, getting an uninspired Orton to become serviceable after missing camp , getting a win out of Thad and an almost win from tuell. -
We finally have a great chance at the #1 overall pick
Charles Romes replied to LFC24's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it's this regime picking the CB and not Jauron's that may not be so bad. -
Nate played one half with 5 picks. Another half with zero first downs.

Watson's fatal flaw coming out of college was his arm strength and that's beginning to show. -
Should Teams Start Spying Josh Allen?
Charles Romes replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I was a defensive coordinator Allen would be keeping me up at night. You have to defend every inch of the field and watch for him taking off. And that's this year. -
John Murphy - Underrated or Overrated as Announcer?
Charles Romes replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he's pretty bad but I like him more than Van. The thing that irritated me about Van is that when the chips were down with the team he was just as emotional and despondent as me which dragged me down even more. The one strength that Murph has is that when things go bad on the field he remains relatively emotionally neutral (maybe he just doesn't care as much). His neutrality is a therapeutic reminder that it's just a game. -
Opposing defenses will adjust to Allen going forward
Charles Romes replied to TigerJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From what I see our new franchise quarterback is already inspiring fear in the opposition in part because of his arm in part because of his escapability and in part because he is totally unpredictable. He has no tendencies.
