  1. Springs is aging and can't stay healthy, and should continue to get toasted by TO as has been the case the past several years. Bodden was castoff by the lowly Lions and was so in-demand, he accepted a 1-year deal from the Patriots*. Merriweather hasn't proven anything and the rest are JAG's or unproven rookies.
  2. Yeah, with that DL and 2 quality LB's, the Patriots* gave up just 2 fewer points per game than the Bills did. Wow! But the problem is that age and injury continue to erode what was once a championship defense (cheating aside). And now they have almost a whole new secondary, filled with castoffs and aging guys.
  3. Obviously you haven't looked-up their stats. To approach Rice's numbers, both WR's need to have over 80 receptions, 1,000 yards, and 7 TD's EACH YEAR for the next 7 (TO) or 9 (Moss) years!
  4. Good luck with that 3-4 LB'ing corps with Mayo and Thomas, the almost-done Bruschi, and guys like Paris Lenon, an "undersized LB" who "racked up some tackles in a garbage defense."
  5. If he's looking for just a 1-year deal, Chicago can have him. It's not like he's even close to TO's caliber of player.
  6. That, and there are over 3 months until the start of the season.
  7. No one will match Rice's stats. He averaged over 77 catches, 1,100 yards and 10 TD's a year.
  8. Let the Bears have him.
  9. Hard to argue that anyone is better than Rice.
  10. The Bills addressed the O-line by finding a new center (who will stand-up better against the NT's than the previous group did) and drafting OL high. As for the changes, personally I'd rather they kept the right side intact, had Wood or Levitre start at LG, and started Bell or Chambers at LT, but I'm curious to see how this configuration works out, and the one I proposed is still a fallback option. And the presence of TO will take away a lot of the 8-man fronts the team saw. As for Peters, he was not an upper echelon player by the end of the year. I figured that once he returned to the team, he would have returned to his 2007 form after about a month or so, but it never happened. That's the main reason I didn't have a problem with the Bills balking at giving him a huge contract.
  11. A nobody, and because he's no better than Ellison.
  12. What we've picked up on is that you're a Patriots fan who claims to be a Bills fan. Say anything negative about Brady or the Pats and it's Mr. WEO to the defense.
  13. When did TO ever demand to be traded from SF?
  14. I was under the impression that Philly didn't want him.
  15. One man doesn't win a game, playoff, SB, or otherwise.
  16. Opinion noted. Again.
  17. Owens was a big part of that 2006 Cowboys season. Without him and yes, even his dropped passes, the Cowboys don't make the playoffs. And that Seattle playoff game hinged on Romo muffing the hold for what might have been the game-winning FG and other Dallas miscues.
  18. Believe it or not, but some of us knew who he was before he was released. And while he won't be the player who will single-handedly transform the Bills' defense into a top-5 unit, he'll be an upgrade over Ellison. And any improvement is, well, and improvement.
  19. Should have done it before you posted.
  20. It went beyond that, although that was a major part. McNabb also felt threatened by TO and never warmed-up to him, and TO revealing that McNabb puked on the final drive drove an irreconcilable wedge between them. And in the meantime, the Eagles were talking about how if TO didn't return from his broken leg that they could cut him with little cap hit, since they signed him to a cap-friendly deal that he only accepted because he didn't want to be traded to Baltimore.
  21. His body of work up until last year consisted of being a QB coach. A QB coach rarely has input into gameplans. And again, it's a matter of not being able to turn chicken crap into chicken salad.
  22. Before we start dogging the offensive coaching, remember that it was Schonert's first year as OC last year, the Bills (still) had no true #2 WR, and the O-line had to deal with Dockery regressing badly, Peters' poor play, and Fowler and Preston's continued poor play. I guess we can criticze Schonert for not being able to make chicken salad out of chicken crap, but I'll wait until this season to pass judgement, now that the #2 WR spot has been filled in spades, a TE threat like Nelson is on-board, and the O-line will have the full off- and pre-season to gel. If the offense continues to stink, Schonert, among others, is gone.
  23. Yes because, who would want a player who "racks up tackles?"
  24. Well, that would explain why he hasn't signed with anyone yet. Good.
