If this rumor is true...I am sitting out this season as a fan. F•CK Vick. Signing T.O. is one thing (a good thing IMO)...signing Vick is going to do nothing but create bring more negative attention to the area, and create yet another QB controversy. Not to mention the guy killed how many dogs???????

How many sacks did he have last year?? How many times did he put enough pressure to force a bad pass, or more importantly an INT?? He IS awful. Sorry to be realistic...but its true. Your description of Kelsay is more fitting of Schobel.

Anyone know of a good place to host a Fantasy Football draft?? We need WiFi as we have 2 people in our league from out of town. We'd like a private room, and a place that serves booze and food. Looking for a place in Buffalo, or Northtown suburbs preferably. I know that Buffalo Wild Wings is good on the WiFi, food and booze...but there is no privacy there.

I would have never guessed that it would be so hard to find such a place. Might end up just hosting it down in the man cave... can we all agree

GREAT POST!!!! -
I couldn't agree more...but I have my doubts about JP being a good STARTING qb in this league...although he has been miscoached throughout his career. A good qb can thrive with change, especially when he has the headstrong game...which I do not see in JP. He has all the physical gifts we could ask for in a QB, but unfortunately there is not much going on upstairs.

preseason football sucks
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post...preseason does suck. Not too much because the games are incredibly boring and show now indication of how the team will really perform (look at our preseason records during the Super Bowl years)...it sucks because you have to listen to all these local "gurus" say that this player sucks, and that player sucks, and this QB needs to be run out of town. Its ridiculous. -
Someone please explain the Roscoe Parrish lovefest
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to Adam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How exactly is Whitner an underachiever??? He's stepped up into the leader going into his 3rd season...he's had to cheat against the run his entire two years year due to incompetence in middle of the d-line, and although he's not the kind of player thats going to pick the ball of 10 times per year, he's enough of a disruptive force. I agree with you on Roscoe though...when the ball is in his hands, he makes things happen. There is no arguing that...but that has been the problem since he's been with us. He's not big and strong enough...and IF Hardy can turn into a decent big man this year, there is no reason that Roscoe shouldn't be an explosive 3rd wideout or slot man. McCargo showed signs last year...but yeah, I want him to flourish with Stroud and show us all that he was a good first round pick. He has all the potential in the world...but definitely seems like he needs to have a fire lit under his ass. -
Still no pass rush

Still no pass rush

God...as much as I'm accustomed to the idiocracy of SOME Buffalo sports fans, I'm even shocked to see the negativity that's sparked from 1 preseason game, where the starters played for half of the first quarter...and some even less. Last I'm going to say about the matter, but J.P. has had 4 years now to show us something...and aside from a few long balls to Evans, I haven't seen a thing from him that gives me confidence that he can bring this team to the promised land. Edwards showed A LOT of poise and intelligence last year, while only appearing in just over half the games...and when you talk with people that know football, particularly at the NFL level, the potential is more than obvious. If you want to dwell on whats REALLY negative here, you should be worrying about Jason Peters more than anything. -
When will the 'Start JP NOW!!!" surface..
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are two types of people that would call to bring back J.P. as the starter. 1. People that don't watch football. 2. People with an IQ that is actually lower than J.P.'s A message to all those who are jumping the gun the QB controversy...even our friends on the air at WGR550 are poking jokes at you schmucks already. -
I couldn't care less about the negativity, but think that ANYONE out there who is going to be part of discussions of yet another QB controversy is a complete idiot. Stability is apparently underrated in Buffalo...and J.P. has already proved OVER AND OVER again that he's not competent enough to be a starting Quarterback at this level. Is Edwards the answers?? I don't know, but I'm not going to get worried over a "bad performance" from a guy that took 9 snaps on Saturday.

I was just having dinner at Chef's, and Brett Favre was there eating with 3 other guys. I haven't been paying much attention this off season. Are the Bills trying to sign him? Crazy.

"Welcome to TwoBillsDrive. We are currently running Travis Henry Eric Moulds Willis McGahee J.P. Losman Lee Evans out of town. Be ready ready Donte, you're up next, and Marshawn, you're right after him." What a stupid signature.

Shaun Alexander..........
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, yeah...I know. He's not above the law, and I never said that he was. He'll be punished one way or another, but its not like he raped someone, or was caught buying crack. Sure, it was a stupid act...but not worth a suspension if you take a look at other offenses that have resulted in punishment from the NFL. Its his first mistake as a Bill, and hopefully his last. Regardless, before I go any further into this, I want to hear more on what happened. A bruised hip, and seven stitches?? You could sustain an injury like that walking into a parked car. I want to know how much SHE had to drink, as well as Marshawn. Have you ever been to Chippewa at that hour?? People don't even look before crossing the street. Not trying to get #23 off the hook here, as he took off after the incident...which is inexcusable, but I need to hear the entire story. -
I'm not going to pick any one player to be the key to success, BUT I will say that I think that it will be HUGER than Fuccillo if McCargo can continue to progress as he did in the second half of last season. Between him and Stroud, there's no reason why the Bills shouldn't be one of the stingiest run defenses in the league this year...and should provide the opportunity for Whitner to actually stay back in the secondary, as opposed to cheating up for run support like he had to do much of last season. The most interesting player situation is at cornerback. I'm sure that McKelvin should be a starter sometime this season...but who will be the odd man out?? I thought that Greer outshined McGee for much of last season. Regardless, if Greer ends up at Nickel, thats really not a bad problem to have.

Shaun Alexander..........
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, IF Lynch gets suspended, at worse case scenario I can't see him getting more than 4 games. Don't think we'd want to pay Shaun Alexander $5 million to be a 4 week insurance policy. Besides, has anyone actually seen Alexander play during the past two seasons?? He's barely an average running back these days. I think Jackson can handle most of the load for a few weeks, if need be. Perhaps we sign someone...but not someone like Alexander, who is going to break the bank. Travis Henry is another bad idea. He's trouble, and was just released because of some "dedication issues." Do we really need someone like that on our team, just because he's another ex-Bill looking for work?? Perhaps we should re-re-sign Peerless too. Anyway...I hope that Mr. Goodell can see this whole "accident" as a stupid mistake of an otherwise pretty decent person. -
McKelvin or McGee on kickoff?
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I hope you're right...but I'm not so optimistic. I think he'll fit in well...but if were VERY lucky, he'll be #2 by the home opener, but more realistically he'll start the season at nickel, and work his way up the ladder throughout the season, and into next year. I don't think a corner can step right in and have as much impact as a running back, or a linebacker. -
OK...that topic title sounded a bit effeminate, but think about it. We were only 7-9 last year, but when was the last time you felt so good about a 7-9 team?? After several offseasons of hopelessness, I really think we're getting there. Lovable...think about that. McGahee is gone...despite being semi-retarded, he had the personality of a turtle. Spikes was good, but he was a DORK. His lame dances weren't a tenth as entertaining as the little jigs we got out of Bruce and Biscuit. Fletcher was the epitome of mediocrity...on and off the field. Clements had the IQ of a lump of coal, and the personality to go with it. Peerless SUCKED, and liked running his mouth in the locker room...even after we gave him his second chance. Whitner has class, character and all the qualities of a leader. Marshawn Lynch is amazing as a player...and has one of the coolest, most upbeat personalities I've seen in the NFL. Evans is class, despite taking some crap for speaking his mind last year. Poz is the perfect role model, and the kind of guy we all hope our daughters bring home someday. Edwards has the poise, and the brain. I could go on and on...but I LOVE this team. OK...so Roscoe got a DUI. If thats as "naughty" as this team gets, I'm pretty happy with that...they guy is young, and it was a stupid mistake. I will give him the benefit of the doubt until it happens twice. Anway...I know, none of this matters until we make the playoffs. But, it matters to me...

Best Case Scenario
The Mayor of Buffalo replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Give him a chance...the Losman situation was already well on its way to being a farce before he even got here. All I know is that the players love him, and love playing for him. He brings out the best in the players...look at Greer. Look at Wilson. We thought it would be a disaster resorting to starting these guys, then they came in and played their asses off. I'm not judging Jauron until AFTER this season. All the pieces are finally starting to come together...last year we had a VERY likeable team, and this year we'll have a very likeable team that wins (I hope!)
