Pats are riding a 6 game winning streak. Don’t see them changing anything. Allen has the strength to still beat them deep plus they want to stay in zone because they want eyes on the qb. Esp, a running qb like Allen and they have said playing zone is why they are so good at getting turnovers now and I believe they lead the league in turnover differential.. The zone may not be as deep but I doubt they change what has gotten them to 1st place UNTIL someone proves they can beat them. They won’t change offense much except now they prob can’t go after whites replacement as much as they might have liked too. If I was them, I don’t take a chance on a blown man coverage and make Allen prove he can be patient in weather. Would keep in zone and spy on him and make the Bills prove they can run the ball. Daboll will need to do some counter action, jet sweeps , and like you mentioned , time to bring in the FB and more protection for Allen because Judon and a very good d line are coming. Have to work w Allen on quick release this week, because if he keeps holding the ball , he is in for some bad sacks. I hope Daboll uses up tempo to mitigate the rush and wear down the d line. Also try rushing more if Brown is back ? Not going to be able to spread it out anyhow against that d AND bad weather , so possessions , not turning the ball over is our hope to win. Don’t be afraid to run or punt , and play field position as Bass should have an advantage knowing the winds better. Get Brieda the ball more, and use. Singletary and Allen running as well. Moss might be motivated but I’m not sitting Brieda to take another chance on moss showing up unfocused plus I’m not taking the threat of Breidas speed away. He could take a screen or short wheel route all the way and moss can’t do that. Even using the threat of Briedas speed with putting him in motion will open things up for Allen. Playing moss just brings the D up tighter as he is no deep threat. I can’t see activating all 3 rbs unless you sit an offensive or defensive lineman. Also I definitely work on ways to get the ball in Knox’s hands; reverse, screens, shovel pass , jump pass to him by a back in the red zone etc. I was kidding about the Bills fearing the weather before but if it’s going to be gusty , really it could play in our favor with good play calling It would essentially take away any Pats passing game , but then Mcd/ Frazier have to be willing to run blitz or get out of their 4-2-5 because we will be seeing power running with two tight ends or extra lineman all night. It’s our home so we should be practicing in that weather every day to gain an advantage in the short passing game to augment our anemic running.and keep drilling Josh that in this situation punting or throwing it away is better than ints! Going to be low scoring, everybody thinking this favors the pats. However, knowing what’s expected , no excuse we can’t adjust our D and O play calling to our advantage. If we stick with the same usual strategies, it wouldn’t surprise me if we got blown out playing finesse football. We know what’s coming so a third loss at home would be a very disappointing coaching season by McD.

Well, I called that with 2 posts on the 19 th in this thread. Knew most likely Brown lied again and that it was implausible 100% of the Bucs were immunized. Also called that his statement released about missing time because of his “ ankle” was most likely a cover until the investigation results came out. ( disclaimer, not politically related, just discussing this related to gaining a competitive advantage in the postseason , nothing related to Covid disease, just breaking NFL rules. Taking the vax is between a person and dr relationship , committing felonies has been discussed on here related to football before. This is a football participation discussion). What continues to amaze me is on the pregame show on the NFL NETWORK, Glazer reports Browns et Al suspension for THREE regular season games. Kurt, the host ,remarks that the FBI did state this was a felony , which is true and I stated that on the 19 th when warnings went out to Drs that faking info on cards was a felony and could result in license revocation or fines etc. RIGHT AFTER SAYING it was a felony , Kurt cuts to Strahan and asks his opinion how this will affect the Bucs chance to do what they are still after ! Without batting a lash, Strahan , says no, Brown should take “ the time to rest and get his ankle healthy “ so he is ready down the road! Do they not understand the word FELONY,,,,or is it just a way of NFL life that allows / rewards Brown w rest prior to the playoffs!? Why suspend this admitted criminal ( no argument he purchased the cards etc) for regular season games at this point in his career ? Want to send a real message with teeth Goodall? Allow him to play the regular season games but make him ineligible for or suspended for three or the entirety of postseason play! The only thing that matters to these guys ( 3 game checks mean nothing now to this vet type player) , is another ring or chance to play in a SB with all the PR surrounding it. Plus , why does the team get zero penalty for allowing this to happen ? Those cards were by rule to have been validated. It’s not like it was some infinite amount of cards to validate; it’s 100 cards or less. So once again , the NFL ignores the big picture of players committing felonies , but hey , let’s be sure they can still have the roster they want if they get to ths SB! Making the guys who used the fake cards ineligible for post season play would properly add some punishment and accountability for the negligent Bucs organization. This is not political , it’s a football issue. Is it fair to allow guys who committed felonies to “ rest up” for the playoffs , actually gaining a competitive advantage, when they violated NFL ( and FBI ) rules? Isn’t this similar to some things like the Pats have done on their way to “SB” titles? Maybe the FBI will step in ( unlikely given the time frame etc) , but suspending a guy who can’t play with an ankle issue anyhow just does not seem like the penalty fits the crime ( plus, we all have seen the laundry list of crimes Brown has been associated with posted in this thread, so when is enough, enough with this guy?) Are the Bucs now becoming the new PATS; get them to the SB no matter what ? Do you guys believe this is fair , esp to other teams who followed the rules or were transparent ? 😉🧐

Haha! Reading this I was thinking , is this a BILLS board? We thrived cuz when it was too tough for them it was “ just right for us”! It used to be we had a home field advantage and wanted every big game here in Buffalo in Dec/ Jan ! Bills draft a BG ARM qb who played in Wyoming and was drafted to handle inclement weather because he spins the ball so well. We built a team to play HOME PLAYOFF. GAMES in Jan.! Now people are worried about the weather, a week out, something neither team has any control over. Wow, how the tides have changed when Bills fans are worried a power running team from New England with a rookie Qb ( from Jax and Alabama ) can have a better game than the hand picked qb brought in to lead during the weather you see in Buff during playoff time ! Come on people, it’s your home stadium. If the weak armed guy can’t throw in weather , the run becomes predictable and stoppable! Th Bills team history is BUILT around playing tough football in cold snowy weather! When it snows , the receivers have an advantage knowing where they are going ! I can’t believe I am reading the Bills fans are worried about weather in Buffalo, and they have had 11 days to prep for the pats, despite possibly having the strongest armed , toughest qb, built for “ football weather” ( tells you how worried fans are about no running game and the team playing “ soft” , finesse football!). You would think reading this the team has a new nick name based off the “ kitties”!😂. Well, actually the TEAM doesn’t seem to be whining. Where are my old school guys at,,,,,,,,man, it’s a home Monday night game with first place on the line and fans are posting weather reports! 😈

Was going by dobbins production the year he was drafted from Ohio state. Pretty sure he was close to 2 k rushing his senior year and over that with receiving. He Was extremely productive as a Buckeye , power , speed , good receiver. Not talking about his injury in the nfl, which he will recover from. No comparison with his production and moss or singletary in college. Ravens grabbed him within seconds when bills took epenesa. Dobbins was just coming on, getting used more. when his injury occurred. Pretty sure he was already being used more around the goal line and had more tds than motor who was taken e year before. On the ravens he is in a crowded backfield situation as Lamar is a rb as well. But coming out of college , dobbins was listed as top or second back from that class and he was amazing with the buckeyes. He would have been a perfect addtiion here , better rb, better receiver than motor and epenesa has logged about the same playing time with no injury happening. Then we took moss with our third round pick. Just saying , when he gets healthy , watch, he will be much more productive in the nfl than motor, moss, or epenesa. We needed a power rb with good hands and speed and we passed him up for epenesa whom at this point is a marginal edge rusher. His rookie season was a total failure. Let’s compare them after next year as dobbins is fully recovered from injuury. Dobbins was not being made a healthy scratch routinely before his injury like moss and epenesa have experienced. Beane went by his board , took epenesa, next pick ravens took dobbins. Epenesa is not a talented nfl player like dobbins will be. Singletsry and moss were taken in the 3 rd rounds for.reasons. Not same level,of production in college careers and Beane has not valued the rb position ( or Daboll, and it’s been an issue making us more one dimensional, just look what brieda did with more speed and dobbins has very close to that same speed but Also has power ) My main issue is taking epenesa with dobbins sitting there and epenesa will never be used as much because of the line rotation.

This o line is giving up pressure from the center and edges , as Fina stated , they are not doing basic techniques well ! Defenses also know Josh is much more effective moving to his right , so they are not going to just sit and not bring pressure from that side. Also these o line instabilities ( injuries, Covid etc) affect communication and they are already failing at picking up simple stunts. I would do more up tempo , change the snap count more, really work on screens to slow the rush, and do more protection in with the fb and play from under center to stop giving tells so much. Rolling out some is a good idea, but can’t be the entire solution. Those defensive coordinators are smart once they have film. I fault Daboll for lack or variety , and the o line coach is not doing his job well. Morse is the one stable piece playing with good health and is really intelligent. Brown has great potential , Dawkins needs an off season to fully recover from a near death illness , and the rest are backups or journeyman types. Williams is a passable guard but I think he is overrated based on last years play ( watch him in the afc championship game,,,,looked confused). Josh looks most comfortable running up tempo so I would really go with that almost like the k gun years!

Being in Jax at the time he became available, I can tell you his press was terrible, his attitude was terrible, he was playing uninspired, W’as also having off field issues and he just looked like he really didn’t cRe about football at the time. Got to give Him credit, he remade his image and he looks like the antithesis of the rb he was while in Jax! I think that’s why so many teams passed on him. Honestly, I thought he was going to be out of the league very shortly. Just goes to show, the culture and right situation can make or break careers in the NFL! Given the Bills lack of success until just now, he may not have turned his career around like he did at Tampa. I don’t blame the Bills for that choice , but not taking a 2000 yard back like dobbins who fell to you , going for a project like epenesa , sticking with two 3 rd round rbs from schools that don’t play nearly the competition dobbins played against, will continue to haunt them. After dobbins recovers , epenesa ( where. You are supposed to see the biggest improvement from the first to second years , similar to Moss) will continue to be a spot player and I just don’t see moss having the speed or the advertised power to become a special player. So missing on a player having proven issues in the NFL, is something I think was explainable. Going back to back on 3 rd rd Rbs , passing on a proven 2000 yd rb who also is a good receiver for a dl falling down the board related to speed issues and still only sees spot duty is partly responsible for our lack of a viable running game. I like Beane a lot as a good communicator, fairly good gm with a distinct vision , but his lack of addressing a true edge rusher ( groot has potential, not there yet) , sticking with the same o line that showed issues in last years afc championship loss, and under valuing the rb position are things I believe will keep us from being a bona fide SB contender this year. We might get there ,,,,but beating the Bucs who I believe will be from the nfc , looks impossible as we are still a mostly one dimensional team. I hope he learns from this and has a better off season filling in those last parts. New England sure made up lots of ground in a year , so now he has more pressure than just addressing beating the Chiefs.

Lil Dirty - Benched (update - He’s back and better than ever)
DrPJax replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
After playing in the preseason , practice, and 9 prior games , I am pretty sure he is what he is , and always has been, indecisive fielding the ball. Not only has he fumbled once tha really put the game out of reach, he loses field position by not catching punts well. Tasker always said you lose 15-20:yards when you let the ball bounce by not fielding punts. I would be done with him as a returner esp since we commit penalties like blocking in the back about 50% of the time. Risk way out weighs the slight chance of a significant return. Would still consider a role for him offensively if Beasley remains injured. Btw, can we please get away from the crap of short kickoffs when Bass can boom the ball out all the time? It seems to rarely work for us and places the other team beyond their 30 most times , significantly increasing the odds for fgs and td drives based on NFL stats. Another example of Mcd outthinking himself and not getting desired outcomes. How often do you see other NFL teams trying that unless there was a penalty allowing the kick off team to kick from 10-15 yards closer to where they want to short kick to ? It’s like we never learned from the music city miracle , that squib kicking etc, just changes the risk as you don’t practice them often. Football is sometimes better played simply,,,,KISS ! -
What teams do you fear playing in the PLAYOFFS the most?
DrPJax replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with your order with a couple of changes. Chiefs still the most dangerous at home. They have been there and done that and now with Tre out, we are less likely to beat them a second time. Then I would put a near healthy titans team in Tennessee second, some places we just play poorly and let’s face it, they would be confident playing us. Then the pats if in New England. It’s Belicheck with a great d , power running , and their only weakness is jones has no playoff experience and I believe you grow into playoff success. Ravens would be next as they always pressure the qb and this year our line won’t hold up. Lamar can be contained running and they should have lost to cleveland after he threw 3-4 picks. That’s still a flaw and also a reason I would not worry any longer about the browns. How do you lose a game after so many giftS? Colts would be actually above the Ravens now , but it’s possible their inconsistency will keep them out. But it took Brady and the SB champs to beat them by only 7 in Indy , so if they do get in , I agree with you they scare me more than the ravens , plus the Colts demolished us at our home and the weather was a factor surprisingly! Our finesse d line will continue to be a liability unless Starr stays healthy and Oliver continues his inspired year. Bengals are close behind but again, not having won a playoff game in so many years, it’s a process and I think it’s at least one year of an early exit before being serious contenders. Chiefs, followed closely by the titans , followed very closely by the Pats are the three biggest worries in my eyes for the afc championship game to keep us out of the SB. Playoffs are about past playoff experience; one and done is a different pressure that does play a huge role. If we ever got there, No Way do I want to ever see TB AND BRADY. Too much experience and we could get blown out like in SB 27. Green Bay is close second but I think we could stay within a one possession result. Arizona would be a good shot at us winning , we want to rid ourselves of hail Murray forever! Dallas has a very potent o , but I think their d might still give us an edge. Would prefer the Cards, then Dallas, GB , then I find a way to lose the afc championship if the Bucs are already known as the NFC opponent; been traumatized enough by Brady for one lifetime! Too much experience, too much success against the Bills, strong running and passing game with good receivers that losing Tre makes more dangerous. Yep , I even have Josh fake an injury if we had to face them so that way we could place the L on tribusky as he is on the way out the door anyhow! Lol! Don’t want Josh to be a part of losing 5 Sb’s and go down that path Jim has had to live with all these years! -
Well, we let two teams take games from us in front of the home crowd with the colts loss being the worst so far this year. Why does an NFL team need something to stay focused after losing already to possibly the second worst team in football ( jags) Our schedule was a setup to have already been in command of the division. Believe me, it is fortunate we are only 1/2 game behind the Pats but that’s not really a GOOD THING as they are being run by a ROOKIE QB, not a QB, with 4 years experience worth 250$ mil dollars! If we were truly the new king , we should have not wasted two of those losses as true great teams have records that reflect the truth; as Parcells said, you are what your record says it is! We have a chance to still be the team we hoped we could be , but it’s going to be much tougher than it was expected for us as the year started.

Bills vs Pats: “pound for pound” teams analysis
DrPJax replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, we have no one close to Judon this year producing sacks. Pressure is not the same as a sack taking someone out of fg range or putting the o behind the chains with lost yardage. -
He is important but he has shown he is still young and needs help as a running game would allow Josh to be his best. He doesn’t do well, nor do the Bills when everyone knows Josh is dropping back 40 plus times in a game. Look at the division leaders , they all have balanced attacks. Look at the defending SB Bucs, Brady is getting help from strong running from fournette. Can’t ignore our offensive issues just because we took a big hit on our D. I get your intended point , if Josh can play flawlessly , quit doing things he keeps reiterating he can’t do, we do have a chance to offset tres loss. Without Josh at his best , not throwing ints, not fumbling, not looking confident , not having any game winning drives, etc, we just don’t look like we can overcome the Tre loss. Best hope is Josh at his best with help. I hate to say this, but I hope we see a Josh as willing to be patient running the O as jones has been doing that with the Pats.
-
Yeah they sure looked that way against Henry and Taylor. The pats were built to be power running specifically for division rivals the Bills. Fools that with expert play action qb Brady and lefts truly see where we stand , esp now with our lock down corner gone. Couldn’t have been a worse injury for us at a more critical times. Those stupid loses to the Steelers at. Home, jags in Jax , and loss to Titans as Dawkins gets blown up and josh jumps to the left and slips as right of center was wide open , which were “ wake up calls” sure have proven how each game matters as now we face our toughest part of our schedule. Saints game proved little , and Mcd better get that under achieving d line to actually sack some one And keep sound gap control. Without white,, it’s just gotten easier to get the ball out quicker. Don’t look now but Mcd never changes out/of the 4-2-5 , so I would be shocked with moving pieces around except for the cb. The pats d has taken over the past few weeks with sacks, Take away s, and points allowed.according to sims , boomer et Al! We are in trouble as our wins came against bottom dwellers. Next two -3 weeks hold our true potential , not prior meaningless stats. our playoff hopes lie with josh and his ability to quit holding the ball too long behind this pourous line and quit throwing ints as possessions will matter. Can Daboll finally get creative with Brieda , stop forcing moss on second and long, and can we keep a semi healthy o line ( as I believe Dawkins s is not healthy and Brown s back could easily recur). Last year we were healthy nil the final two games. This year Covid has been worse for us and beasly and white are big issues as well , white being lost for the year. Pats with #1 scoring d in the NFL , JUST WHAT OUR O LINE AND JOSH STRUGGLE AGAINST. Luck has not been with us this year , as who expected the pats with a rookie QB to be leading our dfivusiin this late in the year as that power run game is flourishing!? SO FAR MCD IS BEING OUTCOACHED AS the pats look like the real, contenders. Next Monday could mean our season, let’s see how Mcd does!

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - The Six-game Season Begins
DrPJax replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
I hope you’re right! -
No offense, but how many wake up calls, how many good losses , how many starters must this team lose to galvanize these guys to play .Iike last years AFC East champs who were one win away from the SB? How do they go from being SB favorites from the AFC, having control of the east , with their goal of hosting the AFC championship game, to now every game carrying the weight of playoff games and just moved oit of the last playoff spot up to third ending the Pats/ Titans game ! How do their wins come from playing teams that are terrible , many playiing wirh backup QBs while their loses ( excluding Jax, who actually did have a strong d line performance) habe been from potential playoff teams with strong running attacks? We had supposedly a “ bye” month as die hard fan nous called it and managed to lose 2/ 3 of those games before beating the lowly Jets and Saints. Now you are saying we need losing the most talented member of our secondary as a positive, finally galvanizing event to kick off our SB potential run!? Dose that sound realistic to you : aren’t these guys Pros who throw that term out any time they are asked about loses and that they flush them quickly so it seems loses carry little weight ,as they get paid highly despite wins / loses for the most part , and now with an extra excuse to further defend poor defensive play against good teams we should expect the team to kick it up a notch in honor of Tre? Wow. We have already lost more games than last year and we are facing the toughest part of our schedule! you are truly a glass is half full kind of guy ; God bless you! If it happens, I want to talk to you about helping me with future investments! I really hope your optimism is rewarded , but I’m kind of at the point that records matter(7-4) and now they have to show me against a hot , arguably better coached pats team and last years Super Bowl champs with Brady ( who will zero in on tres replacement) at their home field that they can win. Sorry, it’s time to quit platitudes and play to the talent level they think , claim each week they have! Happy holidays!

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - The Six-game Season Begins
DrPJax replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely best , most accurate summary of a game and Significant plays I have read on this board all year ! Really well done. I especially liked your pick up on Brees and his analysis of that second int. So many other writers, podcasters , refused to accept that was on Allen and just blamed the o line hitting Allens arm. Brees pointed out Allens biggest flaw this year, he continues to avoid the open short routes and keeps looking for something else , which is exacerbating the line deficiencies. The ints this year mostly have that problem as Allen holds the ball and the. Delivers late while under pressure and I am concerned why he seems to ignore correcting or coaching on this. Palmer , on. Another podcast mentioned he was CONCERNED. about Allen regressing this way on several occasions this year. Of course, the fan boys on here then resulted to name calling Palmer and referring to his lack of long term accomplishments. They ignore how many QBS seek his advice and training which is a mark of long term career success. So, can Allen defeat this tendency to keep holding the ball while our o line struggles? He talks about not “ doing this, or I can’t do thiS” yet he is still not changing his tendency of being late to hot or short open routes and we can’t keep losing the turnover battle. Also, I firmly believe Dawkins is truly showing effects of long Covid as he looks fatigued , lacks quickness , and is making uncharacteristic mental mistakes. He may not fully recover until the season is over , but some hope is many long Covid patients comment on suddenly improving around 9 months. People forget he almost died from this and it’s reasonable he truly will need all that time and maybe even take the full off season to get back to normal. I hope Starr recovers totally and is able to play at the great level he has so far; only time will tell and he is so important in stopping the run. I am concerned we lost a level of Talent with TreS loss that is just not replaceable and it will open up an extra option for Jones / Pats , and it will really weigh on is against Brady. We have 11 days for reps and adjustments but it will be a huge challenge and we as a team are getting low,on ability to correct for starter losses. I also agree each game now is like a playoff game, especially if we want to have any home playoff games. Brieda / singletary sssms like a better combo and add hope for the run and opening up the play action. Great write up and we will see the truth against the Pays at home , followed by the Bucs game. Those will really tell us where we actually are as a true SB contender or have just Let another season needlessly pass by. Keep up the great posts! Happy holidays ! -
The only other actual loss involving the teams you mentioned was Henry and the Titans play has suffered. They now have to depend more on the Qb and they literally lost THE BEST running back in the NFL. Now they are in a battle for the #1 seed and before they had it locked up if Henry was 100%. Plus , we could play that team 10,x in. Their home and be lucky to win 3 times. We had no a see for him just as we had no answer for Taylor. Any team losing their first string Qb will take a huge loss and if lost for the season , it’s unlikely thru recovery to win a SB. Imagine the Bucs losing Brady , do you actuallly think they find a way to recover from thAt. Losing white , a five year starter , lockdown corner who had allowed NO TDS this year s a huge loss for the D. No one on this roster is equal or they would be sharing duties or in place of Wallace. There is a noticeable drop off from white to Wallace , and Wallace iS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE #1 reciever usually. Now throw in Jackson , who we have seen in one game get beaten badly with a double move and luckily the qb missed a wide open receiver! That happened against a qb with no where near the talent of Brady and no where near the accuracy of jones who also has the support of two good tight ends and two good power rbs! Also add an excellent d with good pash run ends against our o( with Dawkins struggling badly ,( whom I personally believe is showing signs of long Covid with fatigue and what looks like mental processing errors) and we will need to have a top performance for our o to make up for losimg a lockdown corner. So you are without you lockdown corner with no one close in talent to replace him ,let alone his leadership skills being gone now. Your o line is very inconsistent, so assume the o will not score its usual amount , as New England will run the ball and run clock off. However when they need to get a first down , now more options are available for Jones as Tre took one receiver away on most plays. Unless our D can Can actually get some sacks , then qb will have more time to allow that #1 receiver to get open against someone like Jackson. Tre was also more physical against the run so that’s another hit to our D. it’s just not reasonable to think you can keep removing starters from a team and they can just keep adjusting. The o line is not the same and the strength of our D, the safeties and the dbs who have played together many games have developed that chemistry can’t be simply just the same. There’s a much higher chance for broken coverages now. Might not matter as much against Jones , but it will matter against Brady who we almost never defeat. We couldn’t tell anything against the Saints who had a third string qb and many of their stars out. You didn’t mention what a difference having their star rb out has made with their play and record. I’m not saying losimg Tre means a loss at home against the pats , but our margin for error just got a lot less. They are similar to the colts and titans and I expect a one possession game. If Josh turns the ball over like he did the prior two games , we could easily lose to the pats And we will be in trouble getting into the playoffs. The only positive is this injury occurred with 11 days before paying the pats at home and that gets a lot more reps for tres replacement and time for Frazier and Mcd to scheme to minimize the huge loss in talent. I was predominantly worried about the inability to stop the pats run game but now without our best DB, it gives the pats one more option on O with a very accurate , patient , well coached Qb. If it was anyone else on the d beside hyde or Tre, I would agree we could probably cover the loss in talent level. A though three game span just got a lot tougher , each game is a playoff game for us. We can’t have our typical offensive lull after starting fast. We can’t lose the turnover battle as that’s what has propelled our wins. We lost really the one d player we have no close replacement for and unless the d line has their best rush game to help, it’s a loss that may Cost us the game.

Have no idea what you are basing that on , are you an orthopedic surgeon? P E are basic findings and can be affected by experience , patient cooperation , swelling and spasm etc. No way pE can tell if there is also cartilage damage, bone chips, or damage to othe ligaments like the pcl, Mcl,if they are partially damaged. No one goes into surgery etc without an mri. Your statement is just not true and I am basing that on my own experience of being a doc for 35 years and have had on field experience.
-
Great point, he was just added to our regular offense, so think what might be possible if Daboll focused on what Brieda may do better or best and design plays , some blocking schemes t o enhance those abilities. Reverses, counters, put him in the slot, etc. we’ve seen the limits of moss, singletary, why not try focus on speed with Brieda, Stevenson. It’s something teams have no film on and it coukd jump start our crucial month of December. Ypc wasn’t great but Brieda still had more explosive plays. This offense is stuck in last years schemes, defenses evolve and we need to be ahead rather than keep reacting!

Lachman test is holding lower leg below knee stable while pulling up( front wards toward the examiner ) on the upper leg above the knee. The ACL’s job is to keep the femur ( thigh ) from sliding forward relative to the knee ( Lower leg) Having done the test hundreds of times , you can tell how loose , or how much give there is as the femur slides forward. It normally has very little if any “ give” . It helps to also compare to the other knee. I agree with the dr tho, you usually only do it acutely like that on the field to test for ACL laxity BEFORE SWELLING AND MUSCLE SPASMS set in the longer time goes after the initial injury. The fact the trainer or dr is checking it means they are concerned he tore the acl. Spraining it is best scenario , but it looked like he felt a sudden, severe pain , unlike anything he felt before ( sprains are bad but tearing the acl is usually more severe , and he looked like he felt it pop ). If the acl tears, there is usually more swelling acutely as it bleeds and the joint capsule fills with blood. That’s why you usually wait a couple of days before doing an mri because the fluid / blood/ swelling makes it difficult to read. If they are able to get an mri tomorrow, while not absolute fact, it might be a good sign because of less swelling , but every person does not swell or bleed to the same extent. ThAt dr has been very accurate any time I have read his analysis, so sadly, a torn acl seems likely , which will even carry over to next year given the time it takes to heal and then get back to feeling confident using the leg normally Especially tough for a corner who has to put extreme sudden forces of deceleration that stresses the acl. Cutting, change of direction, suddenly stopping, jumping , all put stress on the acl. Selfishly I hate not having him there against the pats. It’s a critical position, and he is one of our top 5 players. Corners are on an island so how do you mask that drop off in talent? You know Belicheck is going to target whomever replaces Tre whenever they can plus they use doubke TE’e , right, and Tre was good at picking up a TE when needed. Hope for the best , but beating them just got a little harder. That QB ( funny , from Jacksonville where I am pretty sure he went to a top prep school, Bolles) has one good talent, accuracy! Having a different CB , will give Jones a little more of a throwing window , so that’s not easy to write off how important tres status is. Fingers crossed, nice win tonight., but could be at a heavy cost. Should know by Monday , maybe earlier if swelling stays down.

Maybe Mcd is finally sending a message after that crap Sunday. This team is in the ropes. Maybe he would rather go down taking a chance with hungry players than guys who think they are a lock and are not focused. Maybe the mckenzie show on tic tok or IG etc has triggered Mcd given the team is losing. Doing your job, joking around while winning is one thing; losing and joking around with the season truly on the line is not tolerable behavior if you want to remain an NFL head coach. Just after the jets game Mcd d was telling the press how much mckenzie meant and they should check into his story. A costly fumble , contributing little else , while the team went from #1 seed to now hanging onto the last spot is no joke and for once maybe Mcd is actually shaking things up. Mos. Being a healthy scratch twice in one season either means they overestimated his talent or he is not working to improve having been a “ star” at Utah! He has played like crap the last 3-4 weeks. Looks sluggish, missing running designed lanes, dropping screens. Brieda is hungry, and has passed him by. Moss better make a business decision to work , cuz the NFL guys are not afraid to tackle him. Bad or disappointing pick by Beane so far. Could be wake up calls, but a second time for moss ( who looks slow) , is a big red flag and if Brieda keeps doing fairly well , he will be sitting this year barring injury and fighting for a roster spot next year! I am finally this year encouraged by mcD realizing this team is under performing and for once, he is not afraid to act ! Butler should have just been cut. Excited to see what Stevenson can do. This receiving group needs more deep speed , and now I don’t have to be anxious fielding punts and kick offs. Great moves, I hope they pay off because the season is at most two losses away from being over ! -
Wishing you and yours A great time, filled with great mamories, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Have you ever paid attorneys fees? Ever seen a jury trial ( as opposed to arbitration , which is not a whole lot better , very political based on who the arbitrator is, ) and a trail coils go on for quite a while, years with appeals. Always better to avoid trail and settle and get what you can. The greedy don’t always win! 😀

gee, guess what he said mattered when he turned Josh’s mechanics around from a 50% completion rate to.65%. Now just cuz he gives an expert, critical opinion of his student , he is a POS, and his evaluation means nothing. That pass to knox was a uncatchable bullet in the rain and I guess a previous pro qb , who I am betting has achieved more than you in pro football, probably played in conditions like that more often than you have in thE NFL , has a little more credibility regardless of his own teams career for an underachieving franchise. Funny how many guys seek his counsel and guidance now, but once someone critiques Josh, all past credibility is lost!? Typical fan boy stuff, it’s true when you praise our QB, but any legit critique and your opinion means nothing , even tho Josh still places great value on that experts opinion. I bet he is still accomplishing getting paid a great deal for his teaching and advice every offseason , not bad for a journeyman! Sorry tho that I don’t know much about your career as an NFL QB, so if your record is better than Carson’s , I honestly apologize.
